- Here are some shocking US crime statistics!
In 2015, there were 1,197,704 violent crimes - equating to 3,281 violent crimes per day.
In 2020, there were 610 mass shootings - Almost two every single day.
There were 21,570 murders in 2020, 4,901 more than in 2019, which the FBI called an “unprecedented” 15% spike in murders.
Around 19,000 of these people were killed in firearm-related incidents.

Break them down by racial demographics if you want truly shocking
how is it
@@Civa. Black people make up an alarming percentage of these crimes in America. It’s weird how they were the most oppressed race in this country’s history.
It’s even weirder when looking at other countries statistics and blacks don’t look nearly as violent… 🤔
In 2018: 13% of the population committed about 85% of all violent interracial crimes. 90% if you don't count homicide. And that original 13% you can cut down to 6.5% when you see that the vast majority were male.
What would breaking them down by race do? Reinstate racism? I dont get your point..

Fun fact: The mass shooting statistic means “Any gun related incident involving 3 or more people” in about 3/4 of these no one died
And every other shooting in places like Chicago involves 3 or more people. Most media outlets turn a blind eye to those shootings.
Modern medicine keeps the death toll low.

I wish they'd include the source for these statistics. When people make something like this and don't offer up where they got the info, I'm forced to assume that they're lying about at least part of it and don't want to be called out on it, either because the stats don't match what they say or because the stats themselves are bunk. It leads to believe that they cherrypicked the most "outrageous" stats because it would get them more views.

Kinda like the mass shootings. Look up what is considered a mass shooting

Crime in the 70s, and 80s, was higher than today or 2015.
Too bad we have absolutely no idea what could have lead to those unprecedented rises in murders.
I will tell you economics and racism social economic problem emotional
The problem is that you must compare this to historical averages to see the big picture. Crime is actually on a steady decrease since the 80s (with a slight recent increase after the BLM riot/defunding debacles)
True, but still very bad. A clear picture can be seen that the US has a terrible problem with crime and death compared to most other countries...
.... 15 percent spike from last year. It's om its way up
@@chasefoster9651 yes, the BLM stuff didn't help but the trend is clearly pointing down
I read from Pew Research that the economic and societal changes brought about from COVID-19 also contributed to the spike in 2020. It will be interesting to see what 2021 looked like.
This is just Chicago
So fire arm only account for 1.5% of the crime? If you want to save life, fire arm should not be the top of the focus, but it is.

When they say "firearm related" do they necessarily mean the killing was done by a firearm, or if someone was killed by failing to defend themselves using a firearm that's be enough to qualify as such?
I doubt that they factored in someone failing to protect themselves with a gun
So we agree. It’s not a gun issue.
Nice. But not enough to convince me to give up my guns.
He isn't trying to convince anyone.
19,000? So less than hammers, doesn't sound like a problem in a country where the leading cause of death is preventable medical malpractice.
At the last one I said "And they were all in Chicago"
Despite…
Young Dolph just became part of the statistic
😔
Hearing those numbers seems worse when it's totaled up like that
"firearms related incidents" this is a way to blame guns and make it seem like most of the murders were done with guns while it was actually mostly suicides that used guns
So that makes it better?
I remember taking my dog out for a walk and someone started to follow me. I didnt know what their intentions were and got really scared. My dog Bear noticed he kept looking back at them. After a while, they followed to my car. I got in and they left noticing Bear growling. Either my dog scared them away or they just didn't want to deal with an attack from my dog. Either way, I'm grateful for having my dog. God bless dogs.
Now list democrats and republicans run state and citys and you can probably guess whom is worse
Wow America is such a safe country truly what the government and western media says
I mean compared to other countries governments and some countries people. And countries air quality. Yeah the US is a safer option😅
"congrats who made it in 1 day"
You should see south London after 10
The firearms one is a pretty bad statistic too because a lot of them are suicides and many people don’t think of they when they see the stat.
MURIKA! DUCK YEAH
I guess this will happen all over the world with the current and future COVID rules.
If you're going to say this is why firearms are bad keep in mind a portion of that number is self defense
Or people using illegal non registered firearms. The same ppl who will still have firearms when the good guys are taken away

"2 Mass shootings every single day" this is shocking
I think mass shooting involves more than 2 people so gang violence is almost always considered mass shooting. Additionally, these numbers are historical lows, that should be appreciated aswell
Public suicides with firearms were supposedly also counted.
