Unfortunately the link isnt for EF-M but for the RF
Love your stuff man! You've really helped me get into videography!!!
Great to hear!
Excellent, Mark! I had not thought of the approach you explain here for ND filters (even filters generally). Got your "sort of" count down to 7! Looking for more from you.
This is awesome!!
That’s so cool!!
Ahhhh!! I just bought the viltrox adapter and variable ND filter and I have the exact problems you mentioned… didn’t know about this product, looks amazing!
It’s like brand new, I think it’s only days old honestly.
great adapter for an M50II shooter
This is perfect for the ef lenses, usually their filter size varies a lot between lenses, with some high end ones need very large filters, in fact some of those telephoto ones probably a single variable nd filter would cost as much as this adapter.
Yes, didn't think about the savings over the big filters, like 82mm. Good point.
Hi Mark, love your videos! I've watched another video of yours and wanted to get the Viltrox 23mm EF-M F1.4 to use with my Canon M50. However that wouldn't work with this adapter with ND filters which is such a great idea. What other EF, EFs lenses would you recommend that's on par with the Viltrox? Thanks!
The lens cap issue is sooooo true!
It’s unbearable.
Did the adapter allow you to adjust the f stop?
Thanks for the heads-up on an interesting product. I dont shoot a lot of video, and it seems ND is mostly used in video? I was thinking though that this would be a cool idea for a polarizer, and they have it! Im considering getting it just for that in itself. Messing with a polarizer is just as frustrating, if not more.
Yes, I have some of those filters on order, I will make a video when they arrive.
Can we use the 11-22mm wide angle Ef-m for real state or we use othet len?
It would be a great move to add to this great piece, a speed booster lens, then it would be 1000% great.
Do the cheap converters like the Viltrox still do the job though?
Hi I have been going through a lot of videos of your videos, they are fun to watch and informative.
I am hoping you or someone can advise me on this.
I have a canon eos m50 (first version) and has what I can read an EF mount. So far only been using the kittens but a lot for photographers recommend investing in lenses before any camera upgrade.
A popular brand is sigma.
The question is which converter should I get for their lenses ? I use my camera for both video and photography for products of my store and was thinking of a macro lens to get a nice close up, so clients see the textures.
Thank you to anyone who can enlighten me.
Great content. is there any point of a ND filter if you are not doing long exposure photography or shooting video?
There is, there may be situations where aperture of a lens is wide open, to get the blurry background, but the shutter speed can not go fast enough to limit the amount of light hitting that hits the sensor, meaning the image is overexpose. In these situations you can’t use the lens wide open without an nd filter. This can also be an issue in flash photography.
is there a version of this just EF to EF so i can use a it 700d/T5i?
I was so excited when I saw this video pop up, and then bummed when I realized it was just for the swappable ND filters and wasn't also a speed booster :(
That would be nice.
An explanation of what is a ND filter would be nice.
Hi Mark, thanks for sharing this. One quick question: Can you still attach EF-M lenses to this adapter? Context: I would like to use this ND filter set-up in combination with the native 22mm f2 lens.
No, it to adapt EF only.
I love your videos man 🖤🖤
but does it effect the image quality ? Because I’m landscape shooter
Any filter can effect image quality. I think having them the back of the lens is an advantage, for image quality, as you have the flat filter glass in a place less likely to be effected by reflections/light hitting flat glass at an angle.
@@markwiemels thanks man and have nice day 😁
It appears that additional filters including a circular polarizer and “mist” (soft focus?) are also available.
Got any links ?
Yes, I will see if I can get some for testing.
Always Enjoy your videos.. but.. this Title is a bit Confusing...
We do not. Attach Cameras To Lens... lol
We Attach.. Lens Onto Camera... So the Title Should be
EF Lens Onto EF-M Camera with an Adapter with ND Filter
Has anyone tried this with an M6 MII SmallRig cage? I have read this adapter is big to fit with the cage.
How's the image quality though? Will it introduce vignetting when used? Since it's a push-in, pull-out systen, will it introduce dust to the sensor inside eventually or is there an effective seal to it?
There is a rubber seal that seems good enough, but it’s obviously adding a new point of possible entry for dust. I don’t think it’s any worse than changing a lens.
@@markwiemels And in addition you’re not running the risk of step up rings getting stuck on the lens. I was about to get an expensive 82mm ND screw on set for my EF lenses. This might, might be a way better option. Canon actually have their own version of this for some of their new RF lenses so as a concept it must be viable.
This looks too good to be true. And in addition, you can get a CPL one to drop in to replace the variable ND. What’s the catch? It makes my M6II, coupled with the Sigma f1.4 primes a way better camera than the new R7 & R10 from an APS-c perspective
I think so.
I haven’t got my m50 yet but is there a drop in filter system for using it with just ef-m lenses like I just want to use the sigma 16mm.
No, not for EF-M
Any advice for a Canon EF-M lens on a Fuji X Body? I just got back into Fuji X and cant find an adapter once I learned that EF and EF-M arent the same (face palm)
Unfortunately not.
Is there anywhere we can see some shots that you took with the filter?
Yes, I will do a follow up video with samples and when an ND filter matters.
@@markwiemels thank you Mark! Love your content, it’s really helped me get started!
What if i want to put a efm lense on a ef mount camera?
Can't be done.
Is the filter any good?
I think it is, but I will do a follow up video with samples.
@@markwiemels Great! Looking fwd to that. If the filter is ok and usable, this is a nice adapter to have.
18-35 저걸 쓸거면 그냥 풀프레임 씁시다
Though no ND filter for eos M lenses this way
Correct, I wish there was, it’s so much easier.
I have a M50 ii.... So this video is for me and people having it.. isn't it?
yes.
This video ended abruptly 😂 I'm not sure how good is that quality ND🤔...
haha... I will do a follow up video. I actually thought this was going to be one of those things that I was excited about, bit no one else cared. which happens all the time. As it turns out, people are interested.
A new adapter with ND filter is exactly what I need. Why? Because my previous Meike EF-M adapter broke into two pieces for no reason while I was out on the field. The connected EF lens fell to the ground. The only reason the lens is luckily still intact is because it had an ND filter on, which broke. So now I need a new adapter and a filter. Is it going to be Meike? I think not. Lenses at risk. :)
I know the one, I used that one in the past, and recommended it too. The build on this one is miles ahead of that one, it worked and was cheap, but never did feel right.
@@markwiemels that one is only a basic one with basic functions.
I wish this came out 2 years ago
I know! I had a similar thought.
Nice… Sort of… If you only shoot with an EOS M adapted to shoot EF glass, It would be totally useless on EM glass. Also, I shoot with a mix of EF DSLRs, 5D, 6D, 7D etc. as well as an M50, and I'd need the ND's to work on those as well. So as nice as it looks, at the price of a good ND filter that could work on all my systems, I'm thinking it would be a waste of money for people like me.
For me, it’s the only variable ND I actually use, I have other, good ones, but for the reasons mentioned in the video I just don’t use them. Most people, myself included, have this idea of buying one big filter and using it on all their lenses, but then that doesn’t really happen, because the huge filter and step up rings are such a nightmare to use.
@@markwiemels It's a good idea that fixes some minor irksome problems as you say, but in doing so, introduces it's own problem. The device makes slightly more sense on the EOS R system, (even though it doesn't work for R lenses) as Canon will be releasing new cameras on this mount in the future. Canon seems to have killed the EOS M, which means, when you finally move up from the EOS M system, this device won't be moving up with you. I'm thinking for this to really fly on EOS M, it has to be extremely cost effective, i.e. dirt cheap.
I also have a mixed set of EF and EF-M lenses and ND filters of various sizes. I can see the benefit when using EF especially because of the lens hoods, but yeah, if you still need to buy filters for EF-M sizes the price benefit is quickly lost.
Unfortunately, the M-mount is gone. They are replicating everything on RF-mount, from lenses to cameras. And there, Canon has already an ND adapter. So… I had the M6 II, M50, two M100, and every single lens of the system. I kept the M100, the 22mm f2 and the Sigma 56mm. I sold the rest. Now I‘ll probably buy the M6 equivalent on RF mount, which is rumored to come.
Why is R7 not the equivalent to M6? Many features are more or less similar. I am hoping they bring out an adapter to use with crop sensor Rs.
@@eerofi It is more about the form factor and price point. The M6 II was a 1000 bucks camera without an EVF, similar to the Nikon Z30.
I hope that new camera is going to be good. I have a suspicion it's going to be worse than the M6 Mark II.
@@markwiemels for the price the m6mk2 is still a reliable and versitile camera. Especially with sigma 1.4 lenses
This title is misleading lol EF-M to EF isn't whats happening here, its EF to EF-M
smh. too late upgrading to full frame
Congratulations, enjoy it.
not even a sample video or picture?? like wtf
I have a follow up video coming with samples, as it's just a change of shutter speed, there is not a whole lot to see. So it looks like any other ND filter.
Thank you Mark... camera shop bound to see if they've anything to accommodate my adapters.

I think it’s a super new product. Check out the amazon link.
