People were all too happy to get the fruit picked so the birds wouldn't gather, and the fruit would drop and make the sidewalks yucky. So I had a HUGE bowl, pitted and sliced them, and put them in the fridge with a few tablespoons of sugar. After a day, the juices were all coming out, so lovely! I made a homemade crust, and boy, that pie came out SO good!
I absolutely love sorted food. I have been watching it non stop and I learned so many things and want to do many things. I love that you're teaching people about food but also having fun with it. To sum it all up... You inspire me.
I was expecting at least one little song snippet, but nope. My dreams were crushed. You had the opportunity, and you blew it... LOVE THE RECIPE, THOUGH!
Oh come on! You can't give us a recipe like this just before new years, when we're all trying to gather ourselves to be healthier in the coming year... ;)
you have to bake and eat it before it turns midnight tomorrow (like Cinderella) so the sin is committed in 2014 and not 2015.... new year hasn't started yet :) GO!

clam85 I believe that you could heat it up in the stove, or in the microwave, a little bit, just so it's a little runnier and more like a sauce to put on top. But it would be just as delicious ;)

I'm not a regular RUclips user but I've already been addicted to another food channel before (Food Wishes--- full of puns!). Recently though I've been watching tons of Harry Potter videos (deleted scenes, bloopers, behind the scenes, interviews etc). So I'm assuming that RUclips recommended me this channel based from the characteristics of the only few things I watch here: food/video recipes + puns/innuendos + good looking British people + deleted scenes/bloopers/behind the scenes/etc + a guy with glasses + magic = SORTED!!!. Since I really really love Harry Potter, may I ask you to create your own version of butterbeer? Or any butterbeer inspired dessert, like butterbeer ice cream?!

So Ben - it would be amazing if you have Mike, Jamie, and Barry compete against each other in an Iron Chef America kind of competition. Give them a secret ingredient and they have to come up with and cook their own recipes and you have to be the judge. That also means you have to try all of their concoctions, but I think it's a risk worth taking. You know, just for us fans :)

Red velvet cupccakes, red velvet cookies and red velvet cake are already made. I think Sorted should make a red velvet cheesecake. Sorted should use red velvet cookies as the crust, use red velvet cupcakes for crumbs on top but make sort of a layered cake.
I have a large container of frozen blueberries from summer, will it work if i did the exact measurements but with blueberries in replacement of the cherries? looks great btw!

Laura; that's exactly what I would have done, boil the juice to reduce, added that back to the cherries/sugar/corn starch mix

Another sog prevention tip is to brush with beaten egg the bottom of the crust inside before filling it. Kind of forms a seal.
