I'm crying 😭I felt the same way about the songs. They sound like songs a fake girl group in a tv show for kids would have. Praying they just decided not put effort into it because it's for the show, truly praying.

I agree. Manon focuses on the dance moves bc she's trying to perform first, but she has improved a lot and even son (one of the judges) said she's gotten better at focusing.

The reason samara didnt make it is cause she got into a racism scandal! Because of that her votes dropped a lot and i think the judges also scored her low so she couldnt get in
She didn't make it because the labels didn't want her, that's all. The votes from the fans don't actually matter.

Love the brutal honesty with the music LOL. I agree though, it could use a lot more oomph to make me want to listen to and watch their performance. Make it more k-pop (with English lyrics). I'm sure HYBE will bring over to KATSEYE the qualities that make K-pop great and successful. 🤞

I hope they can pull a SISTAR. they had the VOCALS and the choreo was nice, still fun yet well balanced without jumping around like frogs and bending like pretzels (too intense)
Talent wise Samara is such a gem, its such a waste what happened, happened.
I feel the same way about Manon, and this comes from someone who voted for her everyday. I'm waiting for her to put more into her expressions, but I can't wait to see her improve and I'm positive she will. I was disappointed with the songs too, but I'm just hoping they will put more effort into their actual debut album...
i’m praying that these “original” songs are throwaways that they’re just using for the show and that the group’s actual music will be a lot more fully realized than this lol

If Newjeans, Fromis9 and Lesserafim are known for having good songs, I hope they can make that the case. Or because the project is focusing on GLOBAL, the Pussycat dolls/ spice girls would be great inspiration for this group.
with the music, It's the same way with JYP's global girl group, vcha. Idk if its the lyrics being written in english that causes them to be this corny disney music. I get they want to be uplifting, but theres a way to do that without all the cliches. Since it's in partnership with an American label, Im really hoping they'll have good english writers to make use of. Hopefully they'll also let the girls partake in creating their music
The lineup is 🔥 I’m really hoping I like their music. Usually I can’t predict what you’re gonna like or not, but I think these three “original” songs are undeniably trash 😂 I have some hope for their actual music, and Lara might even have a hand in it as I know she produces. We will see!
P.s. I really hope they learn to harmonise. There’s a nice mix of tones in the group that I think would work really well together. 🤞🏻

I honestly think the amount of hate manon gets isn't related to her skills and moreso her popularity, because she was already very popular from the very beginning (alot of ppl also recognized her immediately from pinterest and tiktok when the contestants were revealed) so ppl either had higher expectations of her than everyone else or had the typical animosity against popular ones lol. She's not the best vocalist or dancer on the team but she's a better vocalist than yoonchae and daniela, a better dancer than yoonchae and lara. The most (and maybe only) valid criticism of hers is her facial expressions which she is already improving drastically in so i'm not worried about it anymore cuz if she improved that much so quick i'm sure she'll perfect it soon. One last thing, she's also more talented than half the kpop idols that don't do nothing in their groups so idk y all these kpop stans think they get to complain this much.
Most people seem to be loving the lineup tho so that's good.

I was SHOCKED about Samara but they released some of the stats, and apparently Samara and Manon were VERY close in votes, so honestly I feel less bad because it was just something small, if they were 7 members then Samara 100 percent would be in the group.
I like the group, I wish Yoonchae wasn't there because of her age, I thought this would be a more mature group (like I think Lara, Sophia, Manon, and Daniela lean towards the mature vibes with their image and performances, while Yoonchae doesn't, and Idk about Megan). I hope those songs aren't on the album, but I like the vibes in Dirty Water, it just didn't feel complete if that makes sense.
I'm happy Manon hasn't gotten as much hate as I thought she would for getting in over Samara. The only people complaining about the line up seem to be Samara stans, so I think it must be a respectable line up to most people. I just hope Manon keeps improving because I know she is trying, and I know she is getting better every time she performs. Being in a group and practicing with Sophia, Lara, Megan, Daniela, and Yoonchae who have better expressions and are good at giving the vibes for a song will hopefully help her a ton as she moves forward.
I also want to see the girls produce and write some songs in their debut album. Lara and Manon write and produce (I'm not sure about everyone else, but someone else probably does too). I think it would be great for them to make a song together.
And vibes wise, I think they get along well, and Yoonchae isn't as left out as everyone thought she would be because the more extroverted members are great and including the quieter members when things get rowdy. So, I'm overall hella optimistic about everyone.
Honestly I wish it was a 7 member group cos these 6 member groups just don’t hit the same for me. That would’ve been a perfect line up

I love someone like you who gives actual constructive criticism! Like I can say this music will not fair well with the American public if that’s what they are really going for. Like Girls Don’t Like definitely sounds like a word salad over a beat. I personally liked Dirty Water though

The original songs in the finale are for the show only. These are not the new songs for Katseye. If you had watched other Korean survival talent shows (e.g. I-LAND, @Team , etc.), the original songs in the show are NOT the group's new songs.

It was so clear samra lara sophia for sure debuting from the beginning only their talent was so clear to each and everyone three spots was pretty sure but samara was also companies favrt untill mission 2 she is the only one who got chance to colloab with text for their song reels after controversy it was so evident everything going against samara votes, judges ignored hwr but she started show her talent but her spot was literally lost by her controversy she was definitely going to debut no hate for manon but that spot for sure it was between samara and manon. And samara was obvious choice but after controversy everything gone wrong and it was very easy path for manon

I looked at the songs as demo work... last of like what we're gonna play witht to get an assessment of what what we're looking for. Look at the line-ups of these groups.. you couldnt get crazy on vocals. With that said ...if this were like a teen movie like a BRATZ or Disney these would would work but the second "Girls Dont Like" is exactly the format of Wannabe in which you said in an earlier video. With all that I thought they were gonna go for seven and Samara was in that group. I had Marquise as a mention but idk something said we couldnt have her and Megan (Megan is definitely the rapper). My hope is we dont over hype them like how we all were for BabyMonster....they gotta start somewhere and they can't all be Twice out here. - Saxx
I agree the songs were kinda eh. I think even R U Next had better finale originals than this. I'm curious if their music will have a more American or KPOP feel though. Also the choreo is EH.

The two groups divided vocally and dance vise if you observe : dirty water : more focused on vocal of all 5. Girls dont like : more focused on dancing and stage presence and they took 3:3 for final debut if you know you know they want strong in everything so and yes song was not so much great this is just performance iam definitely sure they get the best song and vocally lara can take this group somewhere and she can produce also lets see we have bunch of talents over there and such a big company never gonna disappoint us

If not for her issue, Samara would've gotten through instead of Manon - real talk. I'm sure the judges wouldn't take the risk of including her on the final roster. Manon better improve her performance specifically with her stage presence before they actually debut next year.
I’m definitely nervous about the music quality given what hybe has put out for western facing songs so far, hopefully they’ll bring in some new writers and producers now that they have a whole U.S. based group

i think these 100% were just throw away songs that were probably written in a rush and didn't have much thought put into them i don't see why they would want to spend so much production time on songs they're only going to perform once

For me, it doesn't make sense to debut someone who is growing while there are others that are really ready to debut. The show was not make to chose trainees.
Honestly Dirty Water had something unique to it, was quite catchy, fun yet chill and is easy to listen to. I think it could be better if it gets remade. The other song, Girls Don't Like, um..... Not keen on that one. It has this predictable western girl group sound that just feels quite repetitive. All The Same was beautiful tho. Idk if this makes sense but it sounds like something you'd hear in the background of an airline information video you'll hear in a plane (relaxing yet dreamy and makes you feel like you're flying) i do wish it sounded more like the short snippet we heard from the art film, which was sung by the best vocalists in the show. (Lara, Sophia and Brooklyn i think)

This was my exact preferred lineup, except samara in place of Manon. However, I totally understand how everything unraveled considering the controversy, so i’m still extremely satisfied with the lineup. I think they visually and performance wise make sense together. MANIFESTING good music from them, and not disney esque shit.
I believe the final lineup should've been only 5 members: Lara, Sophia, Samara, Daniela and Megan.
(I wouldn't include Yoonchae because she's too young)

(That's sort of how I feel about a lot lesserafim songs. The two aren’t mutually exclusive, I can tell the songs are wack without immediately knowing it’s Ariana since a lot of female artists aimed to the K-pop audience can sound a lot like Ariana.
