I gained a new appreciation for Yunjin. The girls were really struggling with her anti-fragile parts.
Tbh we have to appreciate these girls too. Cause when le sserafim performs this song they either are backed up with a backing track , have a pre recorded audio or don’t sing all the parts of the song. Cause they’re trainees they have to prove their skills more, so they can’t rely on any of these things.Not to drag down any parties, they all have talent in the end.
I mean it's already hard but the translation made it harder to sing. Especially the "Yeah~" part where Sophia obviously struggled. The translation was soooo weird.
@@heardpatterned yeah I never liked the English version. Which is typical for most Kpop songs translated into English for me.
I think Yunjin is very underrated as a vocalist. Chaewon has more experience but Yunjin is really a good vocalist.
I loooove how you see Lara because that girl is a star no matter how many lines she gets (though she should’ve got more, but anyway)

The main point is anti fragile and fearless english version is not good, like seriously, I didn't realize that it's an English version because almost all of them is mumbling or eating the words and we all know that hangeul is way more different in English word that's why if you have the English version, it really don't fit and most of the time english trans is a bit weird. Especially if you literally sing the english version, though kudos to samara her words is clear in her part.

Manon is beautiful and would look great in a girl group. But honestly she hasn’t proved herself at all. Compared to other girls she hasn’t shown a lot of skill in vocal or dance. She’s good don’t get me wrong. But overhyped. I was voting for her initially bc I didn’t have a lot to go off of before. But too many other good girls who really give it all
Goes to show how hard it is to be an idol and why we get so many lip sync stages bc even the girls that we know can sing very well had a hard time. Singing and dancing especially to choreo of this caliber is not easy at all

I think this show should’ve given the girls time to showcase their skills individually like Ik theyre going to be a group and should be able to perform well and sing in a group but I feel like all the girls can do so much more. Also I feel like one huge issue is the song choices because I don’t think these 2 songs are the best choices to showcase their vocals.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who think Manon looks scared when she performs. I genuinelly thought it was just cause her parts in Mission 1 weren't very suitable for her but once again I can hear her here and I don't like it very much. I was expecting more :/ I hope in mission 3 she will get to show her skills for real and prove that she deserves the spot because I can't feel any excitement from her two performances.

I feel like they should have switched this mission and the the first. It’s basically like what the Produce series did with a team battle first and then vocal/dance positions after, but that makes more sense to me at least when it comes to voting. Like people shouldn’t be rooting for contestants for however long just realize that they can’t dance or sing
For that one part of Antifragile, I think both of them sang it a bit breathy and airy when Yunjin doesn't do it in the original. I think it made it harder to sing in pitch for them, but maybe that's just me.
I totally agree! I think they are all talented and those 8 seconds of a performance don't make me question that. I was more just wondering why they chose to sing breathier than the original studio version.@@augustinejade
Yunjin’s part in antifragile is quite difficult. I do think that one of the factors that makes it more difficult it’s because it’s in English . They have to make each word clear but ended up making it breathy to save air and energy . After all the grammatical form of Korean and English is different

abt yunjin's part in antifragile which both girl's kinda struggled with, it's because most of the girls sing with a mixed voice, so their chest voice isn't as developed. that's just a high chest note for yunjin whereas both the girls are opting to mix, albeit it's more of a heady mix than a chesty one which leads to pitch issues while dancing.
Fearless is clearly pre-recorded, or heavily edited, it would be fair to do this with the antifragile teams
Another fellow Lara stan! She didn't get many parts here but she deffo still stood out imo. I hope she makes the final group
I was also excited to see what Manon had to offer in this mission and got the same impression as with first one: something is a bit 'off'. She does the choreo but there is no feeling that she is actually performing. Maybe your comparison of facial expression shows it a bit. I didn't have that with any of the other girls. Everyone were energetic and had something to offer, when the spot was on them. Maybe, as you say, she's insecure or 'scared'? Doesn't have much performance experience like the others, singing and dancing? I don't know if she can still catch up, but wish her that she can improve for next time.
I personally think that Antifragile Team A did better. Of course, in assessing, we don't only consider who sounded good, but also which part of the song they sang because it's the only way we can truly know the reason why some struggle to hit the notes while other were able to still sound good while dancing. There are some who were lucky enough to sing the notes which were low or which don't require much effort to belt. While some played it safe, it was at the expense of other members who took the risk. It was really a struggle for Karlee and Sophia since both of them got the hard parts of the song. They have to exert a whole lot of effort even when the song has just began since they need to belt those notes while doing the run-to-kneel choreo, so it will surerly affect the rest of their remaining parts.
Karlee was actually like out of breath the whole time, but I think she still delivered. But the hard breathing is undeniably noticeable, and sometimes she can't even finish the last words of the lyrics completely. But as I said, it's understandable given that she already lost a lot of oxygen and energy when the song has just began.
For Sophia. We also have to consider that when idols sing live, there's still an audio editing process that happens to clean out vocal stability which unfortunately didn't work for Sophia when it comes to high notes. To cater other unstable vocals, the audio editing became too much on Sophia's part where she no longer sound like her original voice, and her vibrato can longer be heard. But despite that one tolerable mistake, she's proven to have stable vocals all throughout the rest of her parts. This was the difference I saw between her and Karlee. While Karlee was like losing her breath the entire performance, Sophia sounded good when the notes were low to mid. She still even sounded better than the other performers who only got small singing parts.
So overall, I prefer Team A's performance over Team B's. The authenticity and rawness is still there. But Team B still did a good job, even better than the two "Fearless" performances.
This mission definitely changed my top picks. Lara and Danielle really proved themselves to be stars and definitely are my top picks
the songs were kind of awful choices but Daniela did good in fearless
I personlly feel like anti-fragile is a much harder song to sing to than fearless, the range its in makes it a bit harder to keep a steady sounding vocal

I felt the same way about Sophia, she was eating her words. Like how are you speaking english and I still can barely understand you 😭 Lara is still my #1, she’s a star. Daniella really impressed me in this mission. I also enjoyed Megan, Samara, Mei, Ezrela, and Nayoung.
It's crazy how people point of view of Manon and Brooklyn are different. As a group, I prefered Team B. For me, Manon looked composed, not afraid and Brooklyn, just not what I expected for the intrepretation of the song. I think that Manon showed charisma and I can't understand how she should have sang differently for other people to like it better (except for missed note). Actually, I do prefer tones like her because it's sounds mature by nature which is not the majority in kpop. I don't like that much tones who sounds too "young". I don't know if she's like me or not at all but I get sometimes comments saying that I looked scared and it's almost never the case really. Sometimes, it's just that I am concentrating a lot to remember something and the person saying to me disturbs me greatly (makes me angry then), sometimes it's just that I'm hurting and trying to find the best way to deal with it as it goes.
thank you for being non biased. a lot of ppl have been saying sophia and manon were the best and eventhough i really want them both to debut they both were pretty poor imo
I think for Sophia she did great compared to karlee so stop discrediting the effort of my girl

@@antallanirisjeane.1951 Karlee was poorly though and sophia was not. She was incredibly pitchy and flat. She also speaks fluent english so i dont know what point you are trying to make there. She and yoonche were given the hardest parts and yoonchae still managed to do better.
Pitchy and Flat as if everyone isn't, and in yoonchae we both know the Highnote isn't purely vocal, but anyways my girl Sophia we will make sure she will debut

Also your comment about them being poor, 14 out of 16 just voted Sophia to be in their group. The girls know better than us viewers what happens behind the scenes. We only see the final performances.

Team A Antifragile did the best for me. Emily and Yoonchae stood out -- Emily had great energy & stable vocals. Yoonchae's vocals were the strongest IMO. In Team B, Samara had the best vocals but her team's vocals were very shaky; the blend wasn't as good.
Team B Fearless was the best for me. Their outfits, the daytime background, the vocals, & the teamwork were really good. Daniella ATE! I wanted more of Manon's low tone.

Yes, you pointed out exactly what I think Manon is beinging. Somehow i think she look scared of the camera. Maybe she doesn't indeed, but she need to train the facial expressions since it is a big thing in KPOP
It would be fascinating if one of the girls could rap/sing well. That would be distinguished. I hope Hybe's last mission will be a song that is not covered by previous idols but is produced by a producer and done on a live stage with an audience just like how boys/girl planets did so people can vote for the team that won the mission or vote there favorite person.
Personally I hate the fact that HYBE was getting hate for not giving Manon a lot of screen time but honestly she did look like that! She’s a beautiful girl but when it came to the camera she looked lost. I think she’s feeling more comfortable now.

I'm so curious about Manon because I think most people expected her to do terrible in this mission, and she didn't give a strong performance, but she didn't do terrible to most people so everyone is fine with it. I think most people just like her tone of voice.
I liked Team B more because of Dani, Manon's voice in the song (it feels like a unique tone) and the energy felt more like a performance (don't know how to describe that). I agree that MANON looks scared on camera, I wish I knew why or got more information on that. Like has she been training for the shortest period of time? Does she have a lot of camera training when it comes to performing live? I'm so curious but HYBE will never tell us🤧
I felt like there should be stand out moments in the performance, and I think Team A fearless didn't have any moments that had me reacting. I also think I noticed more of the performance in Team B for both good and bad reasons, but at least it was memorable 😅
I have a feeling the judges will be hard on Team A Fearless 🥲
maon is the only one that did not sent a audition tape. hybe sent HER a massage on tiktok (or Instagram) and invited her bc she's pretty, so she has zero background in dancing or singing. for someone with zero interest in those things, I think she did good, but not enough compared to the rest

Yes, in a way this line-up stands out a bit... Sophia, Samara, Lara for the voices, Megan and Daniela for a strong dance line and as we heard, good supporting voices. A sixth place could go to either Nayoung (voice-oriented) or Yoonchae (better performer). At least this lineup gives a strong visual and harmonious impression.
For now, I don't see Manon at the level of a real debut, even if many are celebrating her charms.
In all the constellations we have seen that not everyone creates a group 'picture'.
But a more dance-oriented group with Ua, Emily, Ezrella, Lexi, Celeste, Marquise could also look good.
Ua seems to be a bit of a favorite for the evaluators. To be honest, she gives all performances a good level, but her singing could also be weakness. Maybe they're planning on being 7 too?

Translation for the English version of Antifragile was kinda bizarre
This is so late, but I feel like Karlee didn't get to show herself and was eliminated too quickly. She had larangitis in this and in comparison to Mission 1 I feel like you can hear it. I think she was given yunjin's role bc she's a strong singer, but then was sort of done dirty bc she got sick once she got to korea (where mission 2 happened). I hope she still makes music.
she mumbled there to help for her to complete the dance move (that stretching part) without breaking the voice. you can't expect to sing like studio version while dancing. specially LSF songs. Even LSF has trouble with singing these live while dancing. it's just these songs are not meant for live performances. HYBE prioritizes streamability. That's why their artists are having trouble when singing live. It's just not suitable for their vocal range. specially yunjin does not suitable for pop music. she suits for concepts and vocal ranges like TWICE, KOL and red velvet. (specially LSF and ILLIT) And their choreo is harder than other groups.

Altough Manon is one of my least favs I think the reason why she sounds like that is because she's just recovering from being sick so she's not at her best.
Tbh i dont expect everyone to be main vocals which is why im not worried about manon in that aspect. But i do love her voice in harmonies that ive seen around.
