The Dream Academy was a survival show type show and the final lineup was announced a month or two ago. The group name is called KATSEYE and the final line up has 6 of the members from the show. They're some kind of behind-the-scenes clips preparing for each mission. The documentary will be coming out next year. The 3 missions were basically performing covers of songs. In the finale, they sang original songs but to me, the songs were okay but nothing spectacular. Their music will likely be geared toward a Western audience. As of about a week ago the group stated in an interview they said they still don't know their sound.
The confident team had 3 Asian ethnic women. Megan is Chinese American, Marquise is Thai and Yoonchae is Korean. The majority of the training was done in U.S. but for Mission 2 they flew to Korea to train.
Yea these performances were so the viewers could vote for which girls would continue to move forward, along with who the judges decided. They were training for the performances but the real training is probably happening now now that the complete lineup is finalized. The format is a little confusing it was like a survival show but without most of the in between parts that would be in a survival show because I assume they're saving all of it for the netflix doc so most of what people were going off was solely the girls' talents and not really personality outside what they'd post on tiktok and short behind the scenes videos Hybe would upload. I don't know if you're gonna watch the Finale but the final lineup ended up because really good. They didn't do the show in Korea I believe it was mostly in LA but they did take a trip to Korea and had a kpop performance challenge there. The official group will probably be mainly in LA but promote in korea sometimes (if not most of the time, i'm not sure how they'll do it yet). Confident group were all asian and yes the two you pointed out were korean!
