- In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which officially kicks off phase 5 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Jonathan Majors joins the adventure as Kang.

Jonathan Majors gives a real sense of danger and I love seeing Paul Rudd having to get serious. His small scene with his daughter in Endgame is so heart felt.
His face at the end was that of terror. He knows that this is serious territory and his normal backup is a universe away.......I can't wait to see Rudd kill this movie

This feels like the tone of Loki with the visual flair of Guardians of the Galaxy and the psychedelic, multiversal aspects of Doctor Strange 1 and 2.
At some point in the trailer, the music sounds just like the music from Loki :)

That alien with the sunburst for a head was stunning. Much like Hector I instantly jaw dropped looking at that and was like "Ooookay, they are not messing around" Whoever came up with that character concept did some great work.
I'm not trying to diminish it or anything but it reminds me a lot of one of the customisable head options in the videogame "no man's sky". But that's more like a ball of light for a head.

Dude......... Majors is KILLING it at Kang. Just the tiny bit he was in this trailer was SO much more menacing than Thanos was even in Endgame. I wasn't expecting any of this but this movie has skyrocketed up to most anticipated movies coming out soon
I like how reasonable and calm and collected he is. I love villains that can hold the energy at a 2 AND an 11.
@@KBTibbs that's what makes Kang TERRIFYING. He knows all, why should he be afraid of anything??? Also the drastic difference between this Kang and He Who Remains is amazing......the air around the two is completely different.
The scariest part of it was that he got Scott's codename right.

@@Starsaber222 Scott doesn't get any respect. Captain America is getting his shield added to the Statue of Liberty. Scott is "employee of the century" at the Baskin-Robins that fired him.
Kang is asking for help. He's going to try and make Scott feel respected. It's a good tactic and good writing.
I love the VFX effect of "Quantum mania" over the movie title at the end being like the effect for Scott shrinking down as Ant-man
I am as excited for this as you guys!! To add to Hector's point about making Kang the villain for AntMan is that I feel like they made that decision partly because of how they established in Endgame how the Quantum Realm is connected, if not essential, with time travel. Thus having Kang be a _major_ part in an AntMan movie make perfect sense.
The music choice for this trailer is glorious
I def agree that I can see this movie ending with Scott not winning, esp with Kang Dynasty coming. An Infinity War type ending would not be shocking at all! My wild card is that Ravonna or Loki shows up possibly, I really want some hint of something Loki/TVA related just to keep that thread going.
Loki takes place completely out of any time. So it will be interesting to see for sure
It's already been stated that Kang is the next Thanos.
hank, scott or hope will probably die to increase the stakes of kang when he wins and gets released from the quantum realm
Even Kang were to die in this film we know he has different versions so it wouldn’t matter if he lost or not.
Would love to see a Loki TVA tie-in maybe via Ravonna aka his love interest in the comics! Visuals have a very 'Guardians meets Loki' look! Trusting Majors/Kang to knock it out of the park! Highly recommend The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Hostiles, The Harder They Fall & Lovecraft Country for Jonathan Majors's performances!

I'm so with Adam when he mentioned Star Wars. As soon as I saw this trailer, it made me think of how they basically put Ant-Man in a Star Wars movie and that's absolutely amazing. Visually, tonally, and musically, this trailer was incredible! I'm very excited for this movie.
I am so hyped for this movie. I hope it lives up to expectations!

@@michaeloftaoism You sound like an ultra fanboy. The MCU has had its share of bad movies, especially in phase 4.
I love the fact that you guys always praise the VFX artists that work on these films. They are unsung heroes really. Much of the impact of the movies and this trailer in particular is due to the stellar visual footprint that the VFX houses produce. I also have to say, relative to that, one of things that Marvel movies VFX artists do really well, and it is something I noticed really in the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, is their metal shaders. They are light years above anything else I have seen in any other franchise. Producing metal shaders and normal maps for the models that the VFX houses generate is daunting and kudos to them for doing it so well.
Between Ant-Man and Creed 3 being released within a month of each other Jonathan Majors is about to have the best winter of his career!

Everything about this trailer was great. Setting up a very interesting story between Scott and Kang here, beautiful visually given it’s clearly all in the Quantum Realm, and of course Kang himself looks FANTASTIC in terms of costume design. About as close as you can get to a 1:1 comic to MCU translation. This is the perfect movie to start phase 5
Jonathan Major's a physical threat for next year, and his appearance in his comic accurate suit's the best looking from this trailer!
He and Paul Rudd's gonna kill it in this movie.
Kang looks amazing! I love the use of circles in the architecture.
Betting he needs Scott to steal the "mega" tempad that Sylvie got from He Who Remains.
I enjoy the fact that the whole Ant-Fam is getting involved in this.
This is possibly a great way to start phase 5. It has a Guardians Of The Galaxy look to it. I get goosebumps watching this with Elton John's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in the background. It's good to see everyone back, I wish Michael Pena's character, Luis was in it though. It looks great nonetheless 👍🏻

the song "Yellow Brick Road" used in the trailer is obviously a reference to the Quantum Realm (in this case it talks about how the characters are forced into a place similar to the land of OZ just like Dorothy was in the Wizard of OZ) but the song also represents the end of one's journey or the end of a chapter in someone's life. We could see someone die or we could see the retirement of Ant-man.
I'm glad someone else caught the Wizard of Oz references! Yeah I had the same thoughts... Also the part where Kang says "I can get you home" just like how Dorothy tries to get the help of the Wizard. But the thing with this movie is.... It feels like there is a price to pay, having to make a deal with Kang.... And the price maybe too high (Gulp)!

What I like about this trailer is that they show just how terrifying Kang is by showing us that he knows who Ant Man is unlike the people at the beginning who thought he was Spiderman. The fact that kang knows who he is should tell Scott that this isn't someone he wants to mess with
Well, in the Comic Con trailer he didn't know Scott. Scott introduced himself as Scott Lang the Avenger to Kang. hence Kang, now making his offer, calls him Ant-Man.
I saw somebody’s comment on the trailer saying there’s gonna be a huge timeskip. It actually makes sense for Kant to bust out and start wrecking havoc because the timeskip might be at the time of Kang dynasty. The timeskip will be because they were in the quantum realm for a while

I’m fully expecting a line from Kang after Scott tells him he helped defeat Thanos something along the line of “I’ve killed Thanos before.” Just to show off that Thanos is being dwarfed
I love the first two Ant Man movies but this gives me major Ragnarok vibes for some reason and I think I’m gonna love it
Kang's theme is absolutely glorious!
In Quantum Physics there are a handful of theories vying to explain how the works beyond the boundaries we can observe. One of them is infinite dimensions stacked on top of each other. Another is that the universes laws of physics simply change once we travel beyond what we can see and those places where the physics change is what we perceive as another dimension. Theres a version of Kang in the comics that has traveled beyond those boundaries and thats where he hides in the future. It feels like they are using the former theory of multiple dimensions stacked on one another, and instead of hiding beyond the boundaries of our universe he is hiding in a lower dimension, the Quantum Zone. I love how Marvel is using these real world bleeding edge scientific theories to play in the movies.
They could definitely kill Kang off in this movie!! Because there are an infinite number of Kangs. The mid credit scene could roll, revealing the Council of Kangs.
As in, this isn't Kang Prime in this movie, and we will learn this in the end credit scenes.
Character design feels like the Valerian movie. Love it.
This is a family of five super-heroes in this movie, 2 Ant-Men, 2 Wasps, and Stature/Stinger.
All are super smart, with Scott as the dumbest, and he has a Masters degree.
They need a Fantastic Four level threat.

Kang is smart, he wouldn't fight all the Avengers at the same time. I know they'd never do it, but I'd like to see each movie of phase 5 having Kang defeat the hero so by the time we get to Avengers it's just a handful of Avengers with the Young Avengers filling the roles.

it's actually clever to have Kang living in the Quantum Realm, because the usual question when a universe level threat has been around for a while and we're only just seeing them for the first time is, where has he been hiding this whole time. So yeah, brilliant, because hardly anyone can go to the Quantum Realm.
Looks so good. What's interesting is that they could actually kill Kang in this because there would simply be another version of him somewhere.
In Loki he said how they wouldn’t like the other version of him. There’s nothing saying this Kang is the “Big Bad” Kangbof the MCU. He might be the Conqueror but not Immortus or some other, even worse, variant. Heck, they could make him a “good guy” like in Loki. Have a few versions show up and actually be rather helpful then have the big oh crap moment when the truly evil version shows up.
Brady Anselmi Nah this Kang is most definitely THE big bad to worry about. From the identical character design of Kang, to being labeled as such in the trailer subtitles, Feige saying this movie leads into Kang Dynasty, and the same writer for Quantumania is writing Kang Dynasty. All those factors being considered, I am pretty confident this is THE one. Not to say we won’t see other variants, we most definitely will. But this will be the most distinct and dangerous one

I love how they got Cassie Lang in her iconic suit from the comics. And Jonathan Majors is definitely going to be phenomenal in that role.
I was so surprised on how serious this trailer was, only bit of humor was the beginning. Really made me look after this movie more, and the visuals are so stunning plus the alien designs, especially one connected with wires. So intrigued too on what Janet knows that the rest doesn't yet.

I sure hope no one in the Antman family dies in this movie, it looks like it’s gonna be great. Antman is my favorite though so a movie with him is always going to be my favorite. I adore Hank and Janet so I really want them to be ok

We’ll see Kang in this which will lead into Loki which will lead into Kang Dynasty which will hopefully lead into Young Avengers and then Secret Wars.

I think the actress that played her in Endgame was of age and did a good job with the short part she got. On the movie, I think we may get a Ravonna Renslayer cameo or appearance, at least. I love EVERYTHING about this trailer! But the one thing I noticed that a lot of ppl are skipping over but I simply cannot is Hope's look in this movie. Her suit always looked boss but if I'm not mistaken it looks like she got an upgrade and with the short cut, she looks just like comic book Janet van Dyne. In this new age where we're getting more comic accurate looks/costumes (Kang looks AMAZING!!!!) it feels so good to see our movie Wasp look like the source material.....plus I just think Evangeline Lilly looks sexy in this iteration of Hope. 😍🔥🙌
I’m 90% confident Hank and Janet will sacrifice themselves for a tearjerker ending. Maybe to be replaced with variants, but unlikely.
It would be interesting if Scott dies, only to be replaced with a variant who never had kids. Sets up plenty of “You’re not my real dad!” opportunities. Plus they get to have their cake and eat it, too. Major character dies, but the actor is still in the MCU.

Sure they can kill this Kang at the end of the movie. One Kang dies, another rises from the multiverse, that was the whole point of Loki.

Because I'm sure this isn't the first version of Ant-Man he's encountered and since Kang knows he exists in multiple universes, he's giving Ant-Man one more time to work with him on what he wants.

Looks far better than Thor: Love and Thunder in terms of visual effects and how Peyton Reed shot Quantumania on the Volume compared to Taika Waititi on Thor: Love and Thunder.

if you make a deal with the devil you may get something you may get what you want but the devil gets more and I feel that with what kang is offering at man it's clear that he wants him to help him get out of that Quantum Realm which will not be a good thing cuz of all the damage he's going to make to everyone
This is like a taika watiti version of star wars mixed with multiverse of madness, i love it!
Though I DO hope they keep his skills as professional thief intact somehow.
