I worked at the Luxor in housekeeping for two years, and I can tell you with 100% confidence the furniture in the Excalibur room shown came from the Luxor.

Just like the furniture in the Luxor came from the Bellagio

It reveals a lot about how MGM would power rank their own properties. 😉
My hunch is they'd rank Bellagio their #1; followed most likely by Aria/Vdara at #2, The Cosmopolitan at #3.............and then from there I'm a little less sure but I'm guessing it's a toss-up between MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay/Delano at #4 (I'm guessing they rank MGM Grand over Mandalay Bay/Delano even though I'd be the direct opposite of them in mine), then Park MGM at #6, New York New York at #7, Luxor at #8 and finally Excalibur at #9.

It is a fine hotel, nothing fancy , a crazy dark lounge, but fine.Really affordable for Vegas. And use the app to check in. The lines for check in are always insane.
Do not opt for vages strip views, the windows isolation is poor so you get a lot of noise if you have a the strip side.
Location is a plus. Pro-tip. Grab a coffee and chill in the “park” next door at park mgm :)

We stayed there when our children were young. The Excalibur had just opened and we throughly enjoyed our stay! Happy memories.

Loved the video Robert. In early April my son and I will be at Delano for four nights and then we are going to try Excalibur for two nights. We have never stayed there but after this video I am even more excited to give it a shot. Great job you two and please continue doing what you do I really look forward to your content. Cheers from Seattle.

Great review. The Excalibur isn’t that bad. Breaking news lol. The pool is actually a few different pool. You’d be shocked by how cool it is in the spring/summer

Great job on your review and your video editing. Stayed for the first time twice in January 2024. Had a great time at a low budget room cost. Have stayed at the Horseshoe, Harris, Flamingo and other then those properties being center strip. I had a better time at the Excalibur. I do prefer the Resort Tower over the Royal Tower but, both are good and clean.

We use to frequent this casino when it was new, last year I took my grandson and was sooo disappointed!! We went over to NYNY and booked a room instead. I’m sure management is aware of their declined reputation…..why don’t they FIX IT!!!😮😮😮

It's a good question. I think most likely because demand for Vegas has never been higher, so the simple answer is that they don't have to. Eventually though I imagine they will renovate it or replace it.

They know the dirty castle is destined for the wrecking ball sooner rather than later. So, there's no point in wasting money.

Excalibur is definitely still an acceptable choice if you adjust and temper your expectations when planning your stay: especially if one wants to visit Vegas on a smaller budget, is a family person and/or has a soft spot for the peak of themed Vegas between 1990 and 2005.
If I'm being brutally honest, I fit only one of those target demographics (the latter)..................and thus Excalibur just doesn't do it for me overall. I don't feel comfortable sauntering their casino floor with how it doesn't have good flow, the dining options here are among the worst on the Strip in my opinion, their pool is a Top Five Worst Strip Pool in my opinion, and their rooms overall being quite dated and dingy. So the most I can possibly give Excalibur grading-wise in its current state is a 3.5/10: especially when comparing it to other three-star resorts on the Strip.
But I can acknowledge that and in the same breath get WHY it touches a soft spot in many's hearts. Where else in greater Vegas are you going to get a castle-themed sort of experience? Where else are you going to get a spectacle reminiscent of Medieval Times? And hey: I may personally loathe fast food and lament that pretty much everything at Excalibur is fast food, but at the same time I know having access to more convenient and (relatively) cheaper grab-and-go options is attractive to a lot of other visitors so more power to them. 🙂 So while I rarely find myself spending substantial time at Excalibur because it's just not my jam, I'm nonetheless also grateful we still have Excalibur as I really want to see plenty of golden age-themed Vegas preserved for future generations to enjoy and experience (I do surely hope they refresh ALL the rooms ASAP, though...)

Yes I wonder if they’ll renovate it… or just replace it.
