Do you have a recipe for a baked oatmeal bar? Horses can easily digest raw oats. Humans, not so much.

Rolled oats are a type of lightly processed whole-grain food. Traditionally, they are made from oat groats that have been dehusked and steamed, before being rolled into flat flakes under heavy rollers and then stabilized by being lightly toasted. Rolled oats can be eaten without further heating or cooking.

Rolled oats are digestible. I eat them all the time. Lots of people do when they make overnight oats or muesli.

I make something like this all the time, have since around 1984. I also add some finely chopped nuts of any sort, pecans are my favorite - a capful of vanilla. Sometimes I have made some chocolate using powdered cocoa. So many variations to this, but real good all the time as a healthy snack. I don't microwave it though, that takes all the beneficial enzymes out of the honey. I place it on top of a pan with boiling water until it warms up that way. May take a bit longer, but I've spared all the good stuff in the honey that the bee put in there. I use local honey from the bee hives across town. Nothing beats real honey, ever.

I don't own a microwave yet but easily melted my peanutbutter with the white honey in a small pot on the stove. Was a very smooth experience and very easy to clean up afterwards. I mixed my fresh oats with some nut crunch and the melted paste in an extra bowl and left it overnight in the fridge as per recipe. Just recommended this recipe to my family and friends. That's 4 ingredients. Still looks good though and I'm gonna make them. Also, I like how people are asking if they can substitute this or add in that, as if they need permission. Honestly, what are you going to do if the author says "No, you may not substitute maple syrup if you're a vegan," or "You may not add dried cranberries." It's your kitchen, do whatever you want!

Just showing off / virtue signaling they're "special" vegans, runners, or gymmers... and / or too important to read the prior answers to their own question.

They're asking if it works, not whether it will tickle the author's feelings. Attitudes like your are exactly why men live shorter on average, Eric; learn to cook by the book 😂

After reading comments decided I NEED to make these for my son. Who eats healthy granola bars. And spends too much $ for them. He also loves peanut butter. I can't go wrong, with this easy recipe. I look forward to adding different, things in that he'll enjoy. Mixing it up. Thank You.
