Cutting edge animation. Exhilarating combat scenes. One of the best plot lines of any movie. Some of the best voice acting I’ve ever heard. This movie has literally none of this.
my only issue is that their weapons should be a bit more powerful right? like the rifles from the first live movie were stronger than these "peeshooters"
At the end of the first live action movie, they had a scene of the new tech that they had developed - and was promptly ignored for all the follow ups. New looking ships with completely different silhouettes and guns that could _one shot a bug._ Everything was rounded instead of hard edged.
@dragon8887 It would be possible to make ammo that behaved differently when hitting bulkheads and when hitting bugs. And the ship can take grenades going off inside it, so it's got very heavy armour. A heavy calibre explosive bullet or gyrojet (aka Bolter) would be effective. It hits bug, it goes in and then detonates internally, which greatly magnifies the damage. A basic sensor could tell when and if to explode, it misses the bug and its just a heavy slow bullet that will bounce off metal. More sophisticated chips in the bullet and it can do some useful tricks, like the modified AK used in Elysium against the droid during the heist. A guided bullet could even swerve to give a better chance of hitting, and detonating on a near miss to still do some damage. But then it becomes a Turkey Shoot.... the ultimate tech would be the drama of Bugs vs. drones.
It does. Notice that seen where the guy pulled the grenade? Also, every other scene is them getting crushed or a stray slicer in the joint. Also, no MI from previous live action would've survived as long as they did when you factor in no suits.
Lore wise, none. For us here, it is the easiest and cheapest way to identify someone. Additional animation and/or textures to make more distinct characters would have cost more. After that is voice acting, but they haven't the characters to just be talking endlessly. Also, it kind of sucks if you put in a lot work into making everyone's faces, but they basically have there helmets on all the time.
@@slowjamsliver7006 I get what you mean by it would suck to hide their faces after the artists worked hard on making them. But at the same time in the movie there were many scenes where we saw the character's faces from inside their helmets while they were closed. So, if we cane see inside their helmets while they're closed, why have the other scenes where they open their helmets at completely random points during a battle? It is just nip picking, but you got to admit it is a little odd to spend time and effort animating their helmets so much, when we can get an inside view of their head gear at anytime.
its so they can make sure they show their faces for the cameramen filming this documentary. also clearly their helmets don't come w/ radios so they need to open them to communicate.
Im just thinking, how is there so many of the freaking bugs on that ship? Yeah it's a big ship , but they're not exactly small themselves 😂 and yeah watching these guns they do feel weaker than the older movies and the survival game in early access 😂
Good question. At first I thought it was a simple question of how are you supposed to apply a tourniquet over the armor? But then I remembered that Rico easily and quickly removed the chest plate (along with the upper arm plate) by pressing one of the chest plate ‘straps’ in Traitor of Mars. So the only reason I could think of was that the under suit prevents the tourniquet from working somehow, or that the doc was an idiot and didn’t any. That’s the possible explanation in universe, however it’s more likely that the writers either didn’t know about tourniquets or didn’t care, since we also see blood coming from his mouth despite the fact that we don’t see any injuries that would have such an effect.
Good stuff. I just don't buy that guys in armor suits like that could be so easily killed by bugs. They're still just organic matter piercing through what I'd assume is strong armor?
Every soy boy I reply about their arguments of not making the armor as in the book, this one is mostly made for mobility and other benefits, unlike the power armor seen in the book. Also, you gotta know that in the book the Pseudo-Arachnids used weapons so it was a gun vs gun battle. Here, you have giant, heavy and strong bugs with potent jaws that focus their energy into very little surface areas, what a knife does, basically. It'll still go through because again, its focusing most of the energy into a small area.

One of the greatest cinematic achievements of the 20 century 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dog shit take but yea
I've seen videogames real time cut scenes with better animation than this.
Looks like Chinese made anime
gotta respect Chow for going CQC with a bug 😂
Chow is chow XD
He got stickbugged, lol
my only issue is that their weapons should be a bit more powerful right? like the rifles from the first live movie were stronger than these "peeshooters"
This bugs are different but more stronger then the other bug from movie/game
It might also be that they are on a spaceship? So they need to get a lower calibre weapon in order to not puncture the hull. Just speculating though..

@@casbot71 i agree with you
Chow tried to do karate against an alien monster, lol
He became his nickname very quickly xD
It was effective against a bug but I doubt it all of its friends were impressed 🤣.
The engine room graphics are incredible!! Bright but smooth, great animation
if this kind of animation graphics and make this into a game its so much fun i would defenitely buy it and played it all the way
Folks these are Mech Troopers against a bug queen. They did pretty well.
"Ah! This armor does nothing! Why do we even wear it!?"
Mobility
Not to mention bullets don't even pierce the outer shell.
Life support synthetic muscles to carry more ammo built in communications sensors.

Hell divers seems better armed. That’s the advantages of Democracy 😅
Ho boy helldivers 2 whyd you lead me here i liked my life b4 i knew this was a thing i legit thought starship was a one off thing and a book
Why do they keep opening their helmets?😂
Bit of a dumb thing to do in a combat situation.

@jayjacobl4667 yes they do, you hear them using radio comms in other videos.
if only they did this but it was Hell Divers 2. It would be the best game for so long

Ngl imagine a Starship troopers game where one player controls hordes of bugs and the rest are troopers trying to get off a ship.
An idea that sounds awesome
just watch this Yesterday and got to say for a 2012 movie it's pretty cool also similar to halo movie
I would love a remake of Incubation
Whoever played starship trooper extermination and I just noticed those SMG update and Morita saw weapon from bastion it from this movie
This proves that when fight this type of Enemy, you tactical Dreadnought Armour
and an Assault cannon. Unless your fighting Genestealers
2:18: wait...what does he mean?
So they fly around the universe but only have bullets? They shoot massive laser cannons from their ships. Silly.
I guess they don't have the technology to develop small laser weapons for infantry
you'd think they'd develop something similar or some better armor too.

It seems a more effective weapon would have been an AK47. And why the hell don't these guys have armor support?
