Made this tonight, delicious! In my opinion, it doesnt need the extra sauce at the end. I marinaded the fish for a few hours and it absorbs the flavour really well. Adding the sauce overpowered the salmon. I absolutely loved the sesame oil on the veggies though!
Wonderful Jack, thank you😊 Please tell me what you use to clean your stove top, it works hard for you, and looks so pristine when you start your cooking
Jack i saw this the other day and went and bought the ingredients today, we've just had it for our evening meal and the taste of everything was incredible, so so tasty, great recepe 👏👏 I'm doing your chicken cheese sandwich with the coleslaw tomorrow and i'm sure it will be just as good. Respects.
Hey man, just recently found your channel and im from australia and it is so amazing to know that everything you make is just availabe in woolies or coles. Your videos and dishes are all amazing and in 3 days ivr already gone out and made 2 of them. Love your work. Also, i would love to see a spicy vegtable soup recipe or a spicy chicken soup recipe. All the best, your number one fan
Normally I should get 2.5 kg of tuna for my weekly meal plan, but I don’t 🫤🫤🫤cause of bad flavor,,, I think I should try it like this ❤ this video is first one I have watched… I will watch many videos on tonight…seems like very helpful for bodybuilders like us….❤❤❤❤💪💪✌️
5:06 Hey Chef Jack Ovens, first time visiting your channel and I love the videos! The dishes look real yummy! The macros made me doubt, however. No offense, but I believe they are somewhat off here. Salmon is high in (healthy) fat so in combonation with the oil used in the dish, it seems hardly possible to only contain 16g per serving. Carbs seem also quite high considering the biggest source is the veggies followed by the myso paste. I put all the ingridents divided by 5 in my macro tracker and those were the results per serving: 580 calories, 46g protein, 33g carbs, 27g fats. Fair to say the amount of salmon and broccoli was a guess, however, no matter the twists I do, fats and carbs do never come close to your calculation. Maybe you can share some insights here? Would be much appreciated. Anyway, I subscribed since I‘m looking forward to trying your menus out. Have a nice day!
Do you put a few in the freezer since you are prepping five containers, but they are only good for three days in the fridge? Love your videos by the way
Thank you 🙏 glad you’re loving them. Yes, I freeze them and take them out when I need. I’ll usually eat 1 or 2 on the day they’re made and have the others on another day
I do a lot of reheating and have found the best approach is to cook on high for at least 1 minute 30 seconds to start, give it a gentle stir and if not yet to temp, cook in 20 second increments till done. Sometimes the container gets really hot before the food so test before calling it done.
Looks amazing I will definitely be trying this miso glaze. I very rarely eat Salmon so would this work with chicken breast or thigh? Also I think my workplace would crucify me if I started microwaving fish in the lunchroom 😂
Question for cooking the salmon: you use a non-stick pan and salmon in nature high portion of fats itself. You can literally cook that without any additional oils in the pan why you are not doing that?
Salmon is so intensely farmed, I doubt there's much actual difference between fishmonger and supermarket. He probably went to a fish counter and asked them to clean a side of salmon.
Nice meal preparation with the salmon and veggies. I'm not a Miso fan, so it would have to be something else. Unfortunately salmon is very expensive in Australia. Up to $45kg for the fresh (skin off) and around $40kg for the frozen imported skin on. So with the fresh veggies I'd be looking at least AUD $10 a 200g serve here. That's not including utilities use. Hmmmm... Sometimes healthy is for the wealthy! Cheers Jack 👍🤤😀
@@ChefJackOvens That's right so you do. Well you're doing better than me at estimating and you must have a great fishmonger too. Still $9 per serve is up there for one meal when budgeting. I could do this with frozen imported Tuna steaks for $6 a 150g serve with additional rice. But it wouldn't taste as good as the salmon.
Is this safe to consume after 3 days or do you eat a couple in a day? I love salmon and this looks great but I’ve read that it only lasts 2-3 days in the fridge
Hi! I’m a medical student. Brown sugar is somewhat nutritious in that it contains antioxidants compared to white sugar. If you’re watching added sugar you can feel free to skip it. Although for a lot of patients I’ve talked to, it’s easier to stick to a healthy diet when it tastes good lol. And the small amount of sugar he added is unlikely cause a lot of harm. Especially if added sugars are being watched elsewhere.
@@ChefKevinRiese honey is still added sugar and your body processes it the same way it does white sugar. It just has the added benefits of antioxidants lol
Hi! I’m a medical student. There is no clear correlation between soy affecting male hormones. The phytoestrogens don’t interact with our bodies in the same way animal estrogens do. I would be more concerned about dairy milk that contains animal estrogens compared to soy with its phytoestrogens. If you’re reading studies that suggest soy is bad for male hormones, they’re not peer reviewed and likely don’t establish a clear correlation. Just something to keep in mind when you’re surfing the web!
@@amberali9248 I don't drink milk and why take the risk ? Better be safe than sorry and stay away from any kind of estrogen especially in today's world where estrogen mimicking compounds are in almost everything.
@@FireTheHoker that’s fair. Personally I really like Old Bay seasoning on salmon lol. You can try that instead of miso salmon for a non-soy alternative.
Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to hit that like button, it helps my videos be seen by more people. ❤
Abosolutely wonderful - and the miso glaze makes all the difference!
It’s amazing 🤩

Seeing you go from about 50k to nearly a million is great. Nice to see a fellow Englishman do well. Meal looks bang on too 😉
Appreciate it mate! Thank you for being here for so long 🙏 your support means a lot
Definitely on the list for the week - this looks wonderful!
It’s so good 😊
Salmon is one of my favorite! Thank you Chef for this very simple recipe! ❤

Thank you so much Jack for taking time to reply to my query, much appreciated. The salmon was delicious by the way regards Kate

Quick question, how do i reheate it after I have put it in the freezer? It looks amazing, and would love to ad it to my mealprep routine!
Let it thaw in the fridge overnight then reheat in a pan or microwave
I love this episode but unsure how you reheat these in the microwave? Recommendations on reheating so I don't wreck the hard work?
Microwave works fine. Tested it out yesterday and it comes out perfect
@@ChefJackOvens how long and do you stir between?

It does work with chicken but miso is best with fish
Hi Jack, do you think we can substitute the salmon with chicken breast?
Question for cooking the salmon: you use a non-stick pan and salmon in nature high portion of fats itself. You can literally cook that without any additional oils in the pan why you are not doing that?
I cook all of my meals like that and most of the time I cannot see the difference
You always get a better flavour and crust. Plus it helps moisture. The salmon won’t be as juicy that’s why cooking oil is a thing 🙌
Where did you get your salmon from? Their nice and big!
It’s from a local fish monger
Where’d you get your salmon from jack? They’re lovely sizes! I imagine a fishmonger as opposed to the supermarket?
Salmon is so intensely farmed, I doubt there's much actual difference between fishmonger and supermarket. He probably went to a fish counter and asked them to clean a side of salmon.
Hey, about how long should the salmon be cooked on the stove as to not be overcook later in the microwave?
The same time I did. All of recipes in the meal prep series are designed to be heated without ruining

Hi Chef, can you use red miso instead of white miso?
Yes and it’s better tasting imo
It can. White miso is better on fish
Subbing for future meal prep vids
🙌🙌
Any ideas for making this more calorific? Obviously can add rice but any further ideas?
You can up the amount of veggies per serving or add in extra veggies that are higher in calories like soybeans, potatoes, or shiitake mushrooms.
Any substitutes for miso paste?
Gochujang works amazing too

2-3 days in the fridge, and freeze if you’re not going to eat it all before then
Thanks chef! (By the way, didn’t we saw this like yesterday?)
I think is a re-upload.
Made a mistake and had to fix it 🙏
Hi jack is there any non alcoholic sub for mirin ?
Water and sugar mix 🙌
Where can I find those glass containers? 😭

I’ll get that saying back in there… nice and deep like 😂
sorry to be picky are the vegetables washed? we always wash our sorry i just noticed.
Haven't we seen that one already?
Had it up last night for 40 minutes then realised I made a mistake
Would this recipe also work with chicken thighs or breasts instead of salmon?
It will but salmon and miso go hand in hand
Yummy
🤤🤤
That looks DELICIOUS
Thank you 🙏
Miso paste is not something easy to come by where I am in europe though.
It should be available in your supermarket 🙏
Could you keep calorie content on the screen longer
I try to cut as much wasted time out of the videos as possible. You can pause it on the macros 🙌
🙏🏿
Miso was in lidal aking with loads of normally pricey rice wine and other sauces.
When it's gone it's gone.
Just a heads up 😊
Sorry I don’t understand
