I can't watch this without bawling my eyes out! Stevie had just lost her friend Robin and she tried so hard to hold it together here. I would not doubt at all that she used drugs and alcohol this day, losing her friend wrecked her.
I have very little doubt if Robin hadn't have died, the coke wouldn't have ate at her like it did. As amazing as she sounds now still, at almost 76, I often wonder how much different she would sound without the coke, alcohol, and cigarette damage she subjected her voice to in this era
Thirty-seven years later and I still remember this performance like it was yesterday. I thought she was going to fall off the stage and then the tremble of her voice, my best friend and I just looked at each other and we both had tears in our eyes. It was a magical night. ✨🔮✨
It was 3 days of music.. the best of the 70s and 80s..hotter then hell..they had big hoses to spray people..just a beautiful sea of people..Santana...tom petty Jackson brown ..Fleetwood Mac.. so glad I was there..and not that far from the stage either.. im 70 now..my life is made of memories like this..the best of times..im sooo Grateful..she walked off at the end with so many flowers and gifts..She gave us her all.. bless you Stevie..and your band!!!
When a concert meant something, and they gave us all their heart and phenomenal experience .. it’s so in the moment with emotion & song. Rock on Stevie, your my queen
A very moving performance. You can see the tears running down her face as she's trying to get the words out. I can feel your pain Stevie... Thank you for so much that you've given us.
The emotional rollercoaster of the Wild Heart Tour. Stevie was flying high - in several senses of the term. She had established herself as a hugely popular solo act by then and had headlined the US Festival in 1982 with Fleetwood Mac (September 5, 1982). I think she was one of the few artists to play both festivals. But the death of her old friend Robin the previous October was certainly still on her mind, especially when singing EDGE OF SEVENTEEN (dedicated to the 1981 deaths of John Lennon and her Uncle Jonathan). The song took on an added dimension for Robin during this tour, and Stevie was obviously communicating a lot of grief still (she would continue to process that grief in her song NIGHTBIRD on the 1983 solo album). After her set here, David Bowie played - the final act of the three-day event. Apparently, she tried chatting with Bowie backstage, but he didn’t say much to her. Later on her tour - possibly Alpine Valley - Stevie was introducing the song SARA, saying it was about everyone in her life. So a kid in the audience yelled “David Bowie!” Stevie replied, “David Bowie? I met David Bowie, and he had nothing to say to me. So, no, this song is not about David Bowie.”
She looks amazing here, her prime. She is still beautiful but she is on her 70's so it's not really fair to make that comparison. Rachelle Welch is like 80 now and as good as she looks your can't say she looks as beautiful as when she was the it girl.
I love Stevie Nicks because of her bravery to sing with a voice that you have to accept with a spirit of either grace or intoxication. She sings from her heart and she joined the right cast of characters at the right time. She wrote some terrific songs from her emotions and proved that, like Bob Dylan, we feel more connection with a sincere need to express emotion rather than a need to impress others with harmony and timing. It's our ability to have success despite our imperfections.
Boy, when the only thing that matters to you is getting approval from others, and you have no inner voice or standards to judge yourself by, you are a pretty shallow, empty narcissist, huh?
I've watched this performance before, but never really noticed that Stevie is crying. 2:50 is when you notice it most. This sing was written in early 1981, shortly after her uncle John and John Lennon died within one week of each other. She wrote this in her hometown (and mine too) of Phoenix. But I never noticed visually (because I usually listen to amazing music with my eyes closed) that was was still crying here, some 3 years later. Stephanie Nicks is amazing. Period.
4:00 but YAY! that the cameraman was focused on the damn drummer during this Stevie emotional release. SUPER awesome that we got to just watch him keeping the rhythm section down while she was expressing. JESUS CHRIST!

She jumps right in there with her fans I wish they would have showed that when she won Rock and Roll Hall of Fame pictures of her jumping in the fans shaking their hands getting flowers she truly is a TRUE EARTH GODDESS
Daniel Lopez ‘88 here and I agree but we also have RUclips where we can still enjoy performances like this. Sure it’s through a screen and not right in front of our crying eyes but it’s still more than we had even in the mid-2000s. At least we don’t have to set up the VCR and hope there’s enough tape to record the whole concert.
Poor Stevie. She's not alright here. Definitely stressed out and under a bit of something, but we have not right or reason to judge. She's still awesome. Difficult times hit all of us. Who's to throw the first stone? Lovely vid.
No question there was something going on. Backup singers were also off. Her personal emotion is not excuse for their imperfection. Mike's were not properly mixed, effects not added to give the best sound and blend. Clearly, she did not have it together, but if the band and backup singers had had it together they would have covered most of it
The backup singers were off for sure! Stevie stared off key, then nailed it!! Back then, all musicians and vocalists were on something! The era of “sex, drugs and Rick and roll”. Her back up so hers were off key and horrible. She did great. So did the musicians!
Agree that this performance is off...esp listening and watching all the other songs Stevie and band did..Amazing...really think this was a truly emotional hard ship for her here...you can see it in her demeanor, comparing to all the songs she sang before this one..she closed with this...memories of Robin!!! Bless her heart!!!
That says it all to me!! Its why she's out there on the road performing to this day! Ain't for the money, it's for the fans and the connection she has with us

That was the year that my mom died of cancer. Dad had died years before. The government booted me to the street, I moved the woods and lived off the land. Years later, I learned you need to grieve for a year. Weird. A year later, I joined the Army. We both lost someone in 83.
Some people grieve for YEARS. Grief is a process. After my twin sister died in 2008, I became stuck in 2008 and grieved her for years until I moved through the intense pain. I still mourn her death in 2020 but it’s not preventing me from living now. My mom died on May 8 of this year and I’m very much trying to get through grieving. It’s tough
No matter what she was on, or what she was feeling, you can't take away the proffesionalism that goes into performing a two-hour concert night after night. It's just mentally and physically exhausting. Along with that you have business decisions to make, contracts to sign, logistics to go over, and media interviews and promotions for your tour and your upcoming show. But, then again, Stevie is so graceful and beautiful it's hard to look past any imperfections and missed lyrics. She is simply the best.
Can we all give a shout out to the gentle men who protect her as she runs out to interact with the crowd? You can tell her balance isn't great (she's been open about her drug problems then). She's in very high heels. She's tripping over her outfit. Her fans just want to touch her, this tiny woman teetering on the edge of the stage. I know it's their job but the way the men rush to keep her from harm is quite touching somehow.
It seems like she finds her peace and happiness in her music, her voice. To me, her eyes look astonishingly sad and empty. I speculate she's conveying her feelings through her voice with pure emotion.
She is so Selfless when it comes to her fans it's scary. Running all over the stage in those healed boots reaching out to her fans not caring if they snatch her off the stage or anything.
I was the same age and when you live in those boots and do a lot of coke they are just an extension of your feet. I did a lot of coke, and I wore those boots.
Stevie is so beautiful and generous - she's a queen - can we just shut up on the negativity about how high she was - she's a consummate professional who doesn't let anything - even grief - stop her giving 1000% every concert.
Stevie really had no one to lean on, how sad. Lost her best friend. Deep emotions came out. Stevie talking to audience: “ if you ever think you don’t matter, your the only thing that really matters to me”. How sad. She has no one, no husband, no real boyfriend, no children...
Of course, Mike, because a woman without a husband, boyfriend or children can't be happy, successful and fulfilled...? So sad. We're nothing without men or babies to make us complete, obviously. *eye roll*
@@artofdrying I don’t care how successful you are, if you have “No One” to lean on when times are bad, that to me is sad. My statement wasn’t intended to put down the female gender, this goes both ways. I’ll explain, I’m male, I’m successful and I have “No One”. In a strange way, it saddens me that you felt I made a negative comment about females. I very much love females. Having someone sure is better for both the good and bad times.
@@mikewoodson6930 I'm calling out the implicit sexism in your statement, which is there for everyone to read, whether you meant it negatively or not. Regardless of intention, you make a lot of assumptions that have to do with 'having no one'. How do you know she had/has no one? Were you there? Why do you assume that women who have neither a man (or woman?) or a child in their lives, are automatically lonely and 'have no one'? Just asking. Because women, far more often than men, tend to have supportive, often female, networks around them, and they don't count as 'no one', just because they're not men or children.
@@artofdrying I spent 38 years in the music business. Yes, I was around during the time this video was made. People talk, word gets around. Have you read any of her books? Yes, she was lonely, felt like she had no one. Your talking shit about which you know shit about. My words come from being around during that time. Her words at the end of this concert, brought back all the memories. Nothing but love for her. In her own words, she felt like she had no one but her many fans and to me that’s sad. All Your sexism BS, GTFOH.
This is a crazy video. To me (or anyone who can sense people) she seems like she's going through some heavy shit. She still puts on a tremendous show, but she really shows a vulnerable side of herself in this performance. Almost like a cry for help. I know she's doing well now so I'm not gonna look into it because it's none of my business, but that's still really fascinating. What an amazing performance.
vos decis and she was trying to take care of Matthew, Robin’s infant son. Robin forwent chemo to have the baby and died shortly after his birth. Lots of heavy shit. Stevie is one hell of a strong woman.
I was almost 2yrs old at the time of this concert. But if I can go back in time, I'd be rocking out with Stevie here wearing Huggies and a pacifier. Edge of Seventeen months old I guess.
This was actually in Rancho Cucamonga while I was living there in 1983. Glen Helen park US Festival. I wasn’t able to go but it was a big deal back then.
Funny at the beginning when she's either signally when to start or asking when to start from her backup singers. I love that kind of behind the scenes musician stuff.
I adore Stevie and have seen her more times than I can even remember but I hate to see these shows where she is obviously high. I hate it. She's such a wonderful person, song writer, singer, etc. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. I am so glad she isn't doing all that any more. I actually met with her and we cried and hugged. She was amazing. We were all alone for about a half hour. It was amazing. We shared stories. I left with her autograph and her gloves. She took them off and handed them to me so that I would not forget her. I have nothing but respect for Stevie!
My left ear enjoyed it a lot
Omg, lol
...lol...

Lol i thought it was my headphones at first 😁
I felt she needed everyone in the crowd at that moment

@@CandysChannel I'm sorry that you've endured so much!
🙏🏼💜
My Dad Raised me & Fleetwood Mac Album was one of my Xmas gifts 💕 and we played them endlessly
I was raised right
She has the prettiest eyes and her voice speaks for itself!!❤️
No matter what she was on, or what she was feeling, you can't take away the proffesionalism that goes into performing a two-hour concert night after night. It's just mentally and physically exhausting. Along with that you have business decisions to make, contracts to sign, logistics to go over, and media interviews and promotions for your tour and your upcoming show. But, then again, Stevie is so graceful and beautiful it's hard to look past any imperfections and missed lyrics. She is simply the best.
No kidding. I lost my mom and didn't last two weeks. Just wasting away
Just raw talent, enjoy her awesome singing and the video
Can we all give a shout out to the gentle men who protect her as she runs out to interact with the crowd? You can tell her balance isn't great (she's been open about her drug problems then). She's in very high heels. She's tripping over her outfit. Her fans just want to touch her, this tiny woman teetering on the edge of the stage. I know it's their job but the way the men rush to keep her from harm is quite touching somehow.
She was so damn cute.
CluelessBeeKeeping she’s still beautiful
Stevie looked so very delicate and vulnerable that night . I think her music kept her together somehow . What an amazing person . 🤍
It seems like she finds her peace and happiness in her music, her voice. To me, her eyes look astonishingly sad and empty. I speculate she's conveying her feelings through her voice with pure emotion.
I love Stevie Nicks😍😍 my goddess of mystery🌹💖
esta presentación hace q tenga emociones encontradas, un abrazo hubiera querido darle en esos momentos, admiro y amo mucho a Stevie 💌
I know what it feels like to loose My Best Friend, I should say Best Friends, Male Female it is Heartbreaking... My Angel is my husband tnt4-ever.
I love You Stevie Nick from ECUADOR.
Man she is somethen isn't she!? My Rock & Roll hero of all time!! 🇨🇦🌷🕊🤩
She is so Selfless when it comes to her fans it's scary. Running all over the stage in those healed boots reaching out to her fans not caring if they snatch her off the stage or anything.
Wtf is Stevie doing at the end?? Way to many drugs,,wooooh!!!sad
It's called being high off her ass on cocaine.
I was the same age and when you live in those boots and do a lot of coke they are just an extension of your feet. I did a lot of coke, and I wore those boots.
She is an angel. Absolutly
People were not stupid back then
She running to the crowds..security behind her...she is something!! ❤
I hat to listed to this twice as my right ear felt left out the first time, then swapped headphones round for the second listen
Sounds like me
Of course, Mike, because a woman without a husband, boyfriend or children can't be happy, successful and fulfilled...?
What an amazing performance.
this show was after her friend died, so yeah, it was some heavy shit
vos decis and she was trying to take care of Matthew, Robin’s infant son. Robin forwent chemo to have the baby and died shortly after his birth. Lots of heavy shit. Stevie is one hell of a strong woman.
Excelente cantante Stevie nicks impresionante voz muy buena música
Stevie was such a beautiful lady back in the 70s/80s im almost jelious i didnt get to see her in her heyday lol im only 28
Stevie Nicks I saw you at Red Rocks in 1986
I was almost 2yrs old at the time of this concert. But if I can go back in time, I'd be rocking out with Stevie here wearing Huggies and a pacifier. Edge of Seventeen months old I guess.
I love this woman so damn much
This was actually in Rancho Cucamonga while I was living there in 1983. Glen Helen park US Festival. I wasn’t able to go but it was a big deal back then.
1983... We were so young and innocent.
Yeah... my mum was 1 year old so I was young as FUCK!!! 😂😂
She was so damn cute.
The singing (lead and the backups) is FLAT.
Schinnerkzb Marylouisentf Still is!!
Noticed that too..the only off thing in this whole performance. The backups...when they were still singing when Stevie got off the stage.
Stevie goes full Exorcist at 4:02. ;)
Yeah! Haha! Wish the camera caught that!
Hahahahaha
ruclips.net/video/jQAK6sVovUk/видео.html She goes full exorcist at the end of this video as well. 😵
When I do this at a Kareoke bar, only true fans cheer.
Hahaha is that you Yoko Ono hahaha
She is a treasure can never be replaced!
After losing her friend and still holding it together to perform this woman deserves an Oscar blunt honesty.
schooky 23 amen to that
Funny at the beginning when she's either signally when to start or asking when to start from her backup singers. I love that kind of behind the scenes musician stuff.
Oh my........ she couldn’t be more beautiful. I’m so sorry baby
I go to all her concerts when she's in Philadelphia... Long live Stevie nicks and Fleetwood Mac
I like the 2 backup singers performance too
Marvelous as always, Stevie.🌹🌷
Espetacular, espetacular !!..
MAGIC
I adore Stevie and have seen her more times than I can even remember but I hate to see these shows where she is obviously high. I hate it. She's such a wonderful person, song writer, singer, etc. It makes me feel sick to my stomach. I am so glad she isn't doing all that any more. I actually met with her and we cried and hugged. She was amazing. We were all alone for about a half hour. It was amazing. We shared stories. I left with her autograph and her gloves. She took them off and handed them to me so that I would not forget her. I have nothing but respect for Stevie!
Stevie has just lost her best friend Robin she had known since she was 13, can’t you tell she is in emotional pain??
she is beatiful
Waddy looks the same then as he does now
Gran cantante.... un saludo de perú
