Thanks for a great video. I did this today on a 2014 Street Glide I just got, and boy was it a bugger. The wheels were never removed since it was built 8 years ago, and the antiseize had dried up, it was more like glue than lubricant. I had to beat on the axle with a wooden block and mallet, and I was afraid I was destroying something. Finally I got it out. Another weird thing is the axle has a hole through the center and a 1/2" steel rod fits right through it. Live and learn!

Hey rocco sorry once again brother just learning more and more and getting into it my rear wheel doesn’t have that type of nut its more simple its a 2001 road king classic fuel injected i recently learned with this same video only difference is my chain is rubbing on my wheel now i did all the steps you did and i put the same exact rim and wheel on i just added
Loved your video!.. loved the tip on using the 1/2" steel rod. I have the same mc jack but am only now using it to remove/reinstall the rear wheel on my dyna. Does it feel stable enough to do so without strapping the bike down to the jack? Thanks!
cool so glad i watched this.... I've got a 2001 Dyna and it's a little bit different... so I wasn't going to watch, but my mind kept saying click on it, go ahead!! LoL Well turns out even though the rear end is a bit different on the Dyna, the rear belt adjusters for instance, there were things that were the same. For example the back brake. Same. I wasn't sure about how it was supposed to come off, or even if it was supposed to! Well, the video answered that question. I feel more confident now knowing how the brake comes off. The smaller axle trick, well that's even better!! Makes the job sooo much easier. I'm doing my tire tomorrow but first: Home depot !!! Glad I watched this Great VIDEO!!!
Happy to help. Any questions just ask and yes that still half inch rod makes a world of difference and removing the belt lining up the spacers. Thank you for watching and all your support Elliott. Ride safe and have a great day. Let us know how it works out.
@@TwoWheelRocco Hi Rocco!! Did my rear tire I had a 3/4 axle so luckily I had a breaker bar that fit right in!! Everything went back together perfectly using your method!!! Only thing now is the rear belt adjusters. When I took the tire off I counted the number of turns on each tensioner to pull wheel off. 4 full turns each. Well putting the tire back on and turning belt adjusters back four turns either the belt gets too tight or the metal covering attached to rear adjuster screw is loose. Tension feels good but when i match the other side it's just not right. May axle is so far out of whack now i dont know where to start to get belt tight Axle straight and belt tensioners on the rear of swingarm tight!! Lord have mercy!!
@@elliottnunez1057 Happy to help. Loosen your axle and start over do an equal adjustment on each side you'll see your index marks and start with two notches on each side. you have to be even. when you feel the tension is right tighten the axle and take it for a little ride. I hope that helped it's really not that complicated. Just take a minute a little patience and you will see what you missed. Let us know how it works out Elliott.

I swear by the stuff. .Harley Davidson Spray Cleaner & Polish. $7.99 Harley Davidson Engine Brightener. $15.99
What "little adjustment" did you make on the caliper during installation? That rubber piece is keeping the caliper from sitting flush against the swingarm side just enough to make the belt try to climb off the sprocket rolling it backwards and squeal when rolling off the gas. Normally this means the engine stabilizers are worn or out of adjustment, but they're just fine, haven't touched them. I changed the rear tire, noticed that the belt rides against the tire as it tries to climb off rolling it backwards and the belt squeals rolling off the gas. First thing I saw looking it over is a decent gap between the caliper and the swingarm. Did you just have to adjust it so the axle would pass thru or did it have anything to do with that rubber piece?
Happy to help. Take a look at the video that was the last to be removed and first to be installed. Make sure your break caliper pads are fully depressed and take a look at this part in the video. 12:18 a little grease goes a long ways and then install make sure that rubber is on the bottom and not interfering and that's what I think is going on with Install. Any questions just ask. Thank you for watching and all your support. Grigori. Be patient you will get it with the caliper pistons pushed all the way in and gives yourself a little more room and that should be when you're reinstalling your wheel have it on the jack and that should be the first thing installed then spacer and then go to the other side you have your pin through the wheel put your belt on and then your last spacer there you go. I hope this helps. Ride safe and have a great day.
Happy to help. Enough to get the tire off. Thank you for watching and all your support michael. Ride safe and have a great day. Road King jack up mice and easy.
Thanks for this video! I made the mistake of only marking the belt side cam and not both sides on my 2003 Road King Classic. I have a Clymer manual but still I’m a little confused on how to alleviate my issue. Do I need to purchase an alignment tool to get my rear wheel back on correctly? Thanks a lot
If you just did the belt side, that's the side that's welded so the other side will mirror it make your adjustment on the belt side and tighten the nut on the right side and you'll be straightened out as well then indexer mark on both sides when you're done it's all good. Take a close look at the cam washer can only go on one way and that's what keeps you honest. Thank you for watching all your support DM. Ride safe have a great day. Any questions just ask.
Rocco, I'm going to try to do my own rear wheel change but I replacing a 16 inch rear wheel with an 18 inch wheel on my 2009 Road King Classic. Will this process work since my wheel sizes will vary? Will the brake index marks be the same? I enjoy your simple no-nonsense approach and your calm demeanor. That in itself makes me feel a bit more confident in doing this myself. I have an 05 Road king. Let the spacers fall out on the wheel in the front. Which side does the long side go on left or right standing in front of the bike the little notches on the longer bushing? Does it go in or out?

Happy to help if we're talking about the caliper bracket that piece of rubber has a towel on it and that's how you install that piece of rubber in that caliper bracket most times it's broke. You can buy a new one and the next time you do your tire replace it. Can you take a little grease and stick that little rubber barrel back into the bracket and that will work to for temporary. Thank you for watching and all your support green smoke. Ride safe and have a great day.
Rocco, Love the channel. Question...can i put some 16" rear rims (from a 2014 street bob) on an '06 sportster? The sportster currently has a 15" rear rim. The front is 19 on both so I don't see an issue there. Unless the brake caliper causes an issue. What do you think?
Happy to help. OEM for a sportster is a 16 inch wheel. I believe the bearing sizes on that rear wheel will be different, so you will have to swap out bearings. I am an OEM guy. So that's what I see, the bearings for the axle will be a different size you could switch them over the disc brakes I don't think will be a problem. you could switch over the rotor from the 15 to the 16 inch wheel. Let us know how it works out. Thank you for watching and your support Jessy. Ride safe and have a great day.

Have watched your how-to videos on the Honda VTX. Here’s a question, what do you do when the belt rubs making a “woo woo” sound on deceleration but the rear wheel alignment and tension is correct? If I intentionally misalign the rear wheel so the belt runs closer to center on the rear wheel pulley, the sound goes away. 🤔
Happy to help, most times on these Harleys, the belts favor the right side they actually lean against the polly right side. You need to keep the wheel aligned and deal with.woo woo. Some are worse than others, but the wheel needs to be in proper adjusted and that is what it is. Sometimes I find if they put the belt guard, in wrong, the pulley will rub against the inside vinyl of that guard. Thank you for watching and all your support MAJR. Let us know how it works out, as for a Honda VTX, Honda got that bike right, that's for sure. Ride safe and have a great day.

cool so glad i watched this....

Does the rubber go into the bracket or sit up against it
Happy to help if we're talking about the caliper bracket that piece of rubber has a towel on it and that's how you install that piece of rubber in that caliper bracket most times it's broke.
