Good video on using wheel bearing removal and installation tool. To people who might be trying to do this at home I would like to give a few additional tips as I have a independent motorcycle shop and change wheel bearings frequently. When you are getting ready to remove the first bearing place wheel on its side so bearing you are going to remove is facing up. Spray some penetrating oil on outside diameter bearing race where it makes contact with rim let it sit for a few minutes so it has a chance of penetrating between outer bearing race and wheel hub. This will prevent galling of the rim bore when you remove the bearing, you can also apply a little heat. This way the bearing will come out easier. After you get the bearing out and clean the bore apply anti seize sparingly to the bore. This will prevent galvanization and make the removal of the bearing the next time easier. Hope this tip along with video on how to use the tool makes the job easier. Again nice video on tool usage.
Good tips. Appreciate it. I'll pin your comment if I can for everyone to read. Thank you.
You taught me something. I never had a bike with abs and I never would a thought about that magnet.
I didn't know either lol.
Thanks Danny saved me $$ and I did not have to read the instructions. It an awesome kit, had it done in 20minutes with your institutions!
That's awesome man. Your very welcome and I'm glad it helped you. Thank you for the feedback. Much respect and ride safe.
Great video Danny! Its all about saving money and learning more about your sled and having the satisfaction of doing the work yourself.
Thank you, appreciate it. Saving money and knowing how to do it is worth all the grief of doing it. Very cool channel you have by the way. Respect.
@@dannydlowbikertv Thank you sir..much appreciated.
I dig you man with the true message and meaning
Appreciate it.
It's a lifestyle, might as well show all aspects of it instead of just club stuff. This stuff is valuable
👍👍👍👍
Learning,as I go❤ on down the road,smiling😎👍🏻
Amen. Learning is good. I try to learn something new every day, no matter what it is.
Love your content, and having the ability to learn about working on my own bike.
That's awesome. Thank you
If you don't have a kit you can use an expanding masonry bolt to grab the inside of the bearing.
Interesting. Thanks
Good idea
I like what you are doing with your channel. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you
Best tutorial ever seen.
Thank you
I like the how to videos. And the last time I heard somebody say they don't need instructions. Was Tim Allen as Tim The Toolman Taylor on Home I Improvement talking to his youngest son. Saying real men don't need instructions. I think that's the truth about us.
It so is. Lol

Thank you sir. I appreciate it.
Thank you brother, I subscribed immediately. yes one of the best videos, I've ever seen! Thank you again .going to do a 2005 softail. I purchased the all b.... Bearings also👍👍.
I was always curious when installing the bearing how far to go down into the hub? Ty
They only go so far into the hub. And thank you
Great Video short and to the point with no 3 minute intro or 5 minute monologue about the history of bearings
I have the same kit, the kit works even better when you lube the washers and threats with 90w less friction on moving parts. A 49$ remove and install kit will save you about 500 bucks of shop work. If you are attempting this on your own, try to have someone with you, because installing the tire, spacers and caliper all at the same time is a big pain in the arse if you've never done it before. Your first time will probably take you a few hours from start to riding again.
Also if I may, Do your self a favor and mix synthetic Transmission fluid with acetone, 1/2 and 1/2 mix well and put it on your barring you are going to take off. The Acetone Dives the Tranny fluid between the barring and the hub. Tranny fluid and acetone works better than any penetrating product on the market, what you don't use save for rusted bolts on other projects but you have to mix it again because it separates quickly. I learned that from my Uncle who owned a Crop and dairy farm now I'm sharing it with you.
Thank you. Interesting, I'll try that next time. Thanks.
Thank you D, to the point and the action. And thank you for encouraging others to diy
Appreciate the words. Thank you.
👍
Thanks for all these valuable information
Your welcome and thank you.
cut to the quick of it done in real time with the commentary and humor gotta love it. my hd dealer told me 450 plus. three hours labor at 150 or so not begrudging them hourly rate pretty standard maybe that included removing the wheel didnt ask.
Thank you. 💯
Wats up Danny. Hey man I really dig your videos on working on your bike. This one exspecially because Iam about to change out my bearings soon. Perfect timing. And I’ve always looked at a real biker as one who works on his own bike. None of the bikers I grew up looking up to as role models took their bikes to dealership. They would rather have a beat down then let dealership work on their bike. For real I dig all your videos tho. Thanks bro
Thank you. I appreciate your good words. In my eyes, real bikers work on their own bikes. But that's just my opinion.
I know you can't title it this way, swearing and all, but the title should end with "without all the bullshit." Great video because it's the average guy working on his bike, not some guy who has a fancy bearing press given to him from some sponsor- that we can't afford. Thanks. I'm gonna hit up amazon and buy one of those kits too.
Appreciate it. Much respect. I'm just another biker like you and everyone else man.
thanks Danny for the video!!
Thank you
💪💪💯💯 am happy you’re back bro
Thank you
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
Appreciate you as well
Great video that shows me exactly what I want to know without all the fluff that others do. Question though: it is my understanding that when you pull a bearing, a new one MUST be installed but you used it again?
Normally you only install a new one. My bearing never was used, just put it in wrong so I flipped it. Nothing to worry about.
@@dannydlowbikertv that’s even better than what I did…bought new bearings from dealership and don’t remember where I put them or even if I left there with them as I had other parts I also bought all in a bag. Had to buy them again but got All Balls.
Thank bro great video
Appreciate you. Thank you.
Great job!
Thank you
Good video Danny. What year is your glide mine is a 13. You should do front brakes video 2 if your pads are low.
Mine is a 13 as well. You must needs new pads huh. Lol. It's pretty simple.
@@dannydlowbikertv lol I can do my pads. They are the same as my brakes on my old 250r three wheeler 😂 from Japan.
Hey Danny, How about some how to detail videos? That would be awesome.
Coming soon.
@@dannydlowbikertv Looking forward to them...ML&R
