InstaBlaster...
I like this Padre dude, not all techs are created equal, and Padre is one of the good ones! I can't wait to get down and check this place out....
Great, well-cut video for the steps. Nice work, Block!
More Pedro, he's awesome!!
I really enjoy your videos man. I got an Iron 883 back in October and your "How To" videos have helped me learn about my motorcycle a lot. I just did my tank lift, wire tuck, coil and ignition relocation. Your videos give me the confidence to do the work on my bike and makes it fun. Big fan here man! Deuces!
Considering that I'll be replacing my tire in a month, this is right on time. I've never done it before. Thanks for sharing, Blockhead!
Wish I had place like this in my neck of the woods. Learned a lot from my old man so far, but he won't live forever.
Now that man knew what he was doing! Good video.
Standard is a rockin place ✌✌✌
Wow, Padre was awesome.
He does his job so smoothly.
Convey regards to him when you meet him next.
Awesome video! Also, love that The Delta Bombers are playing in the background 🤘🏻
Pedro is awesome. I wish I had a co-op style garage near me. I've got some tires to change next week. Having that equipment would make it a lot easier.
Kickin ass Padre!!
Fantastic video!
Man, wish we had something like Standard in Denver, looks sweet.
I just left a place similar to that in Denver. Check out Moto works Denver
I'm getting ready to put that exact pair of Dunlops on my sportster today, I kinda wish I had all those nice tools too lol,
Amazing tutorial, im soo happy too see a portuguese on your vedeo blockhead. Grande Pedro!! 😂😂
Nice video as always :)
interesting video !
awsome vlog !!
What size are the sockets needed on the axle nuts for the left and right side seems to be a big debate on it in the forums
Looked like 7/8
Padre is a good man.
I have to replace my tires on my 96 sportster 883, I have a motorcycle jack. I'm glad that I don't need to go high to get the wheels off. It was kind of scaring me. I've never done it before. I had a mechanic friend do it. I watched how he did it. So I have some idea of how to do it. Your video guided me in the right direction. Thanks
Awesome video!
Thanks for that excellent video!
Great job but i wanted to know about the notch on the spacers, witch way they go ?
The brakes and other components use metric, because they are imports.
What Up Blockhead! Nice vid what a cool shop.
Limpio, cuidadoso... es lo ideal... aca al Sur del mundo no tenemos tanta suerte... necesito un taller como ese...
Awesome video, I need to see if there is a company like this in Pittsburgh somewhere. Thats a pretty damn awesome service
Nick Black the closest thing I’ve heard of was manifesto moto, but that’s not around anymore. Most of the communal stuff is “female-centric” and they don’t let men get involved. There is a car and moto storage/social club opening called holy grail in east Pittsburgh that looks promising.
Big Bear Bonneville Nice! I'm a good distance away but if it looks promising I will be checking it out. Thanks
Like that pivoting plate holder. Who makes that?
I also have a 2010 48. Is there a way to do this without removing the brake pads, which I just replaced recently? That Caliper mounting pin doesn't come out all the way, correct? So once the axle is out and the wheel can move, there's room to slide the caliper inward and then off the bracket? In another video on a 2013 sportster 48, the caliper comes off before the wheel. It looks to have a different assembly. Great video. Thanks in advance if you get a chance to answer this.
That’s so cool that they have a membership that will teach you how to use the tire machine. There’s nothing like that here in Maui.
Those bars are dope. If installed on an Iron 883, will a new brake line be needed?
Thank you for another great, informative video. I like the verticality mounted license plate that appears to flip inward and outward again. Can you tell me where to buy one for my 07 X
L883C? And possibly name or model number. Thanks again for all your videos, I've watched dozens of them.
fodas! good video!
Great video! Do you go for this Dunlop against the michelin scorcher? o just cause this is the original one that comes with the 48? Saludos!!!
Really good vlog, Pedro is right about the coat hangar being mentioned in the manual, but you can buy a tool now, just put Harley Davidson Wheel Align enter tool in your search engine e👍😎
That's crazy about the coat hanger, lol
rear tire changes looks the same for the 2016 fxdb change, (i'm not a professional, I did a rear tire change on the cheap, swapped it using DIY's), lol also changed the brakes, i must have a heavy foot.
Thx pedro.
I'm not a mechanic by any means but why didn't he balance the wheel?
Some say you won't feel it on a Harley with spoke rims.
But I'm not a fan of it, always balance it costs almost nothing...
what tires did you replace the old one with?
Thanks for the video my dad was arguing to me saying I needed to loosen the axel bolt adjustments to remove the wheel and I would have to re adjust my belt tension untill I showed him this vid
Blockhead what rear lights did you use?
This was a really great video! Really clear and detailed! Pedro is awesome! Thanks, Blockhead, you just got yourself another sub!
Headed there tomorrow to change my rear tube... haven’t been able to ride the last few days. 😢
I have a 2010 XR1200. How do you change the rear tire? My bike has a belt tensioner?
What is the axle socket size front and rear?
So do I need that tool he uses to check the band?
What handlebars are on that 48?
I got a 09 xl1200c what size are the rear axle nuts?? I saw somewhere 1 1/8 but it’s too small
Buddy being a Cert Harley mechanic at a dealership for many years please follow this advice,,, get a belt guard ! So so very important,, one little pebble can ruin your day buddy i have seen it a hundred times if i have seen it once,, i know some say they are ugly,, but it only takes one little pebble to bounce up and go in between the belt and pulley and “snap” broken belt and your pushing it home... just some friendly advice buddy not trying to be a know it all or anything ,,, just trying to help...
Did I miss the static balance the wheel part before install?
So the dot on the wheel goes across from the stem or directly under because he flipped the tire and looked underneath the valve stem so I am confused..
Is changing tires for a 2006 street bob the same ????
Nice video. Padre is cool. But there is a easier way how to stroke if you want to release tension.
Ha!
Are these guys still around the central Florida area?
What exhaust is on the 48?
I would love to find something like standard Moto co. In Virginia
You happen to have a video to bleed these rear brakes I accidentally removed the middle bolt on caliper and drip drip I know I am in for it now.
What handlebars are those?
Does anyone use the rear axle plug tools for rear wheel alignment?
nice thank u
Blockhead, if you don't mind, could you tell me how you set up the Sunpass transponder on the bike?
Toll by plate
I want him as my mechanic!!
Hello, I watched your video and thank you for it. But unfortunately I can not get out the axis, it turns but even when hitting it does not come out. I saw on your video, that the axis also had trouble getting out. What did you do to get it out? Thank you in advance for your help and your info. Cordial greetings.
I wanted to subscribe to Pedro's Instagram page but I can't find it. Thank you.
What is the price tag to have that done ?
whatre you guys using to knock the axle out? I have an 01 and the axle is giving me trouble trying to get it to pop out. I eventually gave up and sprayed the hell out of it with PB and Im just letting it sit for now. Any other ideas much appreciated
It looks like an engine seal puller to me.
GooD bloskhead
Here Is A Sportster Tip .... when your out on the road, wondering if your tires need to be changed; reach in your pocket, and grab a quarter, ( or get a quarter, or borrow a quarter )
then, you insert the edge of the quarter into the tread where it is low ... line up the two Ls, in "quarter doLLar" if you can see the bottoms of the Ls, it is time to change your tire.
Where is this located?
I did this for the first time by myself about 6 months ago....and I put a car tire on my Yamaha Roadliner.
Can we use TUBELESS tire on a spoke wheel? (With the tube inside)
I have a 2013 forty eight and it needs new tire.
Yes. I just bought new tires from J&P Cycles which offered the same tire in tube and tubeless. I have spokes and asked the salesman which is better. He said the tubeless tires are rated for higher specs and will take tubes with no problem.
thanks
who makes your stickers?
Coming from the R6 how is the power on the 48 ? I currently have a 600 super sport and am wanting to make the Harley switch. Just not sure how the 48 power stacks up compared to something like the street bob. Thanks
R6 vs 48, totally different machines. R6 has no low end torque, but lots of horsepower. Harley has lots of torque, but not as much hp. They feel completely different. If you’re used to an R6, you’d be able to handle a Street Bob / big vtwin easy 👍🏼
Thanks man. Love the content keep up the good work 👍🏼
How similar would this be on a 2007-2008 xl883l?
exactly the same
I believe that all Harley brakes are provided by Brembo, which is an Italian company. Hence the metric hardware.
What kind of grease are you using on the axle?
Marcus Zizzo I always use a healthy slather of antiseize instead of grease but anything is better than no lube. ~ Xena @ XLForum
wow I gotta do both my rotors and I would have seriously screwed this up if I hadn't seen this
Not all spoke rims have tubes. BMW R1200GSA is tubeless with spoked rims.
Martin Basham true!
Interesting, but that's a three keg job for me! Still nice to know some can do it themselves but I'll pay the professionals.
dat exhaust though
👌
How to but doesn't say the size of the rear axle nut and exactly which parts on the caliper get removed.
Being a tech at Discount Tire, I found this super interesting. Always wanted to see how motorcycle tires were changed. Kind of laughed when he said he hated the tire changer.
You didn't show when you removed the belt guard. Can you tell me if I can remove the wheel even without removing the belt cover? can I release the belt?
thanks
Yes you can remove the wheel without removing the belt guard
@@BlockheadMoto thanks
Who is that guy even?!
Dang. You beat me to it.lol
You gotta get a "Double Date" vlog with Padre and Giselle, and you and Ms. Block. Now that would be fun!
Tech question: When replacing the back tire, would that be a good time to replace the drive belt, too? Does a drive belt last longer than a rear tire under normal (no burn out) conditions? About the same? Shorter? Just curious. Thanks for another great vlog! ✌️
Im curious are you in Quebec? This mechanic sounds french.
I'm not ashamed to say that I am staring at my phone waiting for a Blockhead video with Grom upgrades. No I'm not. Especially the handle bars. Yes I'm at work. Am I 20 years old? Nope I'm a fresh 46.
Guy ruined the brake runout for no apparent reason. Shouldn't have turned that bolt on the caliper; slides off after wheel is removed. Now if its not properly aligned it will drag one side
If everyone had a tire mounting machine this would be simple
OK !! I see ,, Take your bike to a shop !! Got-It !! :)
Sooo, no need to rebalance it?
He must have rebalanced it prior to installing it.
That tire looks fine, but hey change it if you got the spare money 😂
Got to keep that Rod greased . It sounds dirty 😁
that brake line was stretched too tight....
What 2-1 is that exhaust?
Exactly, awesome in my eyes. And had a rad sound. Block Head answer Marshall's question. We want to know.
: )
YES!!!! It looks custom. I’d waaay rather have that then the short shots I have now. Take my money!
It's 'The Coil' exhaust by Kinetic - bit.ly/BHM-KineticCoil
Thank you, Sir. I like what you do. I've seen you on Adam Sandoval and John Maxwell has brought you up
on his channel. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, appreciate the support! 👍🏼
My Portuguese buddy. Were from in Portugal?
Manuel Rodrigues Azores islands!
Pedro Costa we're from Montreal , Quebec Canada you guys made a great video. St Miguel Azores?
Pedro’s. Portuguese saying is punheta????
Eric Freund LOL
there's no need to remove the brake caliper to remove the wheel
No balansing the weels?!
I guess they're waiting to have the front wheel done ^^
Justice Hand And take off weels again?
