I am beginning a micro dose regimen in an attempt to treat severe alcoholism today, 12/30/2023. I will update with my progress. Thanks for making this video, as it has given me the courage to try something new to better myself and the quality of my life. Adam C. 48 y.o. male heavy drinker with a 35 year history of cross addiction to almost anything I could find.
Sending lots of support your way! 2.5 years sober myself, thanks to psilocybin. I now work in addiction treatment as a licensed psilocybin facilitator here in Oregon and I have seen many clients struggling with addiction completely cease or significantly reduce use of substance. My advice, like with any sobriety, it all starts with the self. If you're willing to do the work and look inwards🙏
@@danronken So good to hear from you man. Didn’t know if you would see my message, glad you did. Drove past old Taft park and they built a new box track just like back in the days when we did BMX. Made me think of the good old days . Great memories man. I still like to get on the mountain bike go on adventures. Hope the family is doing well. Hope to see you soon my friend
Awesome video as usual. I'm very hopeful for psilocybin as a breakthrough therapy for AUD and other addiction disorders. I think we're about a year away from MDMA having FDA approval and 2 years away from Psilocybin getting approved. After that happens research will be much easier and we'll have a plethora of data.
Thank you for adding MDMA into this discussion. It’s really exciting to see the positive results around people who suffer from PTSD. These medicines have the potential to help a lot of people!
Go check him out. Really helped me out with my anxiety and depression issues. He is upright and he has good products 🍄🍫 check him out. saying cus i have done some therapy meetings with him and he has the best options
I just started micro dosing yesterday, 11-1-23 with intentions of confronting my ego, anger and alcoholism. I plan to micro for a few days and work my way up to higher doses over time.
@@hadenbeckley8886 went very well! I did .2g capsules in the mornings. 3 days on, 2 days off. For the whole month of November. Then Dec 1 I took a 1g dose. During the month of micro, I really connected with myself and was reading the Bible a lot more than usual. Connecting with God better than before. Didn't drink for November-December. It's been a few months and I can tell that I'm not fully cured and that this is gonna have to be something I do on a regular basis as I've felt some of my old habits trying to creep back in. But I'm fully aware of it now where I wasn't before, or I just didn't care.. the shrooms definitely open up the mind and help you so so much!
There's a lot of anecdotal evidence around the anti-addictive benefits of psilocybin (me for one). They helped me stop drinking for three months straight. I really thought I was an alcoholic and dreaded the withdrawal, but it never happened. I was drinking 5 drinks a night (usually double bourbons neat). Now I can drink responsibly, and have a greater awareness of how I treat my body. They are truly amazing and fun-guys when you respect them and have the right intentions. ;)
I’m so glad to hear you’ve been able to improve your well-being by not over-drinking anymore. Great job on focusing on greater awareness for your body. A word of caution for any other readers who might be trying to quit drinking…stopping cold turkey could be dangerous (or even deadly if physically addicted). Always consult medical professionals if concerned. Back to you. Keep up the great work and thanks for taking the time to share.
@@danronken Agreed. I was lucky to not experience withdrawal. I read about it and was terrified. But I had worse coming off coffee. That was brutal. Lol
@@chrisanderson6123 Hi Chris, it's kinda complicated. I started my journey with 3g and worked up to 5g. I was getting a lot of messages about a lot of things in my life that needed changing/healing. But I distinctly remember getting the message to cool it on the alcohol. And there was this feeling of repulsion when I did drink. I did not act on it right away (integration can be slow), but eventually I said, ok, let's see what happens. I dumped a sh*t ton of alcohol down the drain, and waited. No cravings and no symptoms of withdrawal. I had been drinking heavily for probably 15 years prior to this. Never a morning drinker, but definitely had severe AUD. Thanks for asking. Edit: My main goal was to figure out the cause of my OCD, but as mushrooms often do, they show you a whole lot more. ;)
Thanks for this. The study looks promising. Ive used magic mushrooms recreationally before. Now I think I might try them again to help me stop drinking.
I was able to transfer from a 76 wheat grow to Justin ogata, as a cmhs wrestling accident survivor. Died early 50s as my brother, a frustrated particle physicist.
It may seem like semantics but decriminalisation doesn't mean it's the 'lowest priority for law enforcement'. There is no enforcement by police.. That's the point. However, police still have some input even when drugs are decriminalised, to refer people they encounter to various services. And in some countries that have decriminalised like Portugal, there are still what you might call 'punishments' but they're civil, not criminal matters. LIke you might have your driving licence taken away if you keep getting caught with something.
I appreciate this clarification. Thank you. Also, here is an update on Prop 122 (which is now law in CO) vicentellp.com/insights/ultimate-guide-to-sb23290-colorado-natural-medicine-psychedelics-regulation-and-legalization-bill/ I’ll add this in the description of the video as well.
My son is alcoholic and desperately wants to get rid of this harmful habit. He heard that microdosing psilocybin mushrooms can help him, but unfortunately he doesnt have long enough periods of continued sobriety to start microdosing. When he has days during the week when he is sober, can he start microdosing on those days hoping that it will help him eventually to get rid of this nasty dependency? Or it is dangerous to mix mushrooms and alcohol together during the same week?
How is your son doing these days? My advice is that even if you are actively still struggling with addiction, it is safe so continue to microdose, SO LONG as you are still in the right headspace. With microdosing, the goal is neuroplasticity which takes time to further develop. There are benefits to a single larger dose specifically with addiction treatment, but do your preparation and have a safe set/setting with intentions in place.
I believe I understand the futility of switching seats on the titanic since it’s going down anyway, but I’m not clear on what the titanic is a metaphor here in this context?
Thanks, these are some good reminders, there’s no question that increasing your mental clarity and boosting your drive, comes with quitting. Yes, there are many ways to kick the habit, Steffon Barkload's Quit Drinking Forever is what worked for me, best shortcut I go’ogled that took days without withdrawal.

It's total b.s. that this healing mushroom is banned & alcohol is not.
