- Vera reveals his knowledge of Mr. Robot, having extracted it from Krista, and declares his desire to meet him.
From Mr Robot Season 4 Episode 7 "407 Proxy Authentication Required" Vera offers Elliot, tied to a chair, a position by his side in taking over New York. Vera brings Elliot to Krista and insists on meeting Mr. Robot. Coming forward, Mr. Robot offers to help Vera if he lets Krista go, but Vera protests. Elliot offers Vera the money from the Cyprus hack. While Vera and his men are distracted by the hack's details, Elliot pulls the gun from his bag, but Vera's men had already unloaded it. Mr. Robot attempts to reason with Vera, who threatens to shoot Krista until Elliot admits he needs her. Vera unties Krista and forces her and Elliot to have an impromptu therapy session. Elliot thinks Mr. Robot and Krista are keeping a secret from him and urges Vera to read from her files. Krista asks Elliot about the day he jumped out his window as a boy, revealing Mr. Robot has always existed, protecting Elliot from his father. Elliot finally remembers his father molested him, despite Mr. Robot manipulating his memory to lead him to believe he was a good man. Vera attempts to console Elliot, revealing his own past with sexual abuse involving friends of his mother. He confides his philosophy that people who suffer like them become unstoppable. Elliot admits he doesn't want to be alone and Vera assures him that he isn't. Krista, sneaking up, fatally stabs Vera in the back.

So interesting that Vera is one of the only people in the entire show who distinguish between Elliot's personalities.
And he respects Elliot more than Mr Robot
He's just as nuts but doesn't have the IQ to utilize his craziness like Elliot

I thought at one point, he became one of elliots personalities. Like Mr Robot or Vera, Elliot adopted his personality as a far ground with this elliot as the middle ground.

Christian Slater describing NY as a giant credit card was hilarious.
Everyone focuses on Rami Malek, but Slater gives us one of the best performances of his lifetime.

You got to appreciate Elliot Villar's performance as Vera. He was an erratic villain but he broke Elliot twice.
Dude absolutely bodied it, one of the best villains in TV history ngl, even with his little screentime

I love that line. After seeing all that Elliot is capable of you really could think he's kind of scary.

I so miss this show a lot. I wish we had gotten a season 5 hanging out with the true Elliot one time would've been a fun journey. But the four seasons we got with the one year wait of launch the finale was worth the wait though.

My biggest fault against season 4 was not seeing any more of the woman whose life Elliott ruined, I wanted to see her story resolve.

It's up there, but I think the best episode of TV of all time is Black Mirror's San Junipero. A masterpiece.
I love how it starts as Vera dictating to Mr Robot, and a minute later it's him whining and begging to impress him with 'startup capital'.
MR is looking down from a vantage point where he knows even if Vera could takeover all of Manhattan, that's still just a tiny piece on a giant chess board so ABOVE Vera he doesn't even know it exists.
Vera thinks he can go from being a street criminal to being the king of crime when he wouldn't even be on the chessboard, he'd be the bones that factions like the Deus Group grind up to make up the white squares on their chess boards.
He's trying to play Poker at a table that makes up one single tile on the Monopoly board.
Honestly, I expected more from Vera after his Caine moment. Maybe like being some secret kingpin of NY or helping Elliot in his grand plan. Mr Robot was right to be disappointed.
Yeah, despite his delusions of grandeur, Vera was just a junkie on a power trip.

Vera sees the Mastermind and he knows it so stops looking away and straight at him. Awkward Elliot was a mask.
No, he looked at patient notes which didn't distinguish much about the 2 personalities but he figured out which was which, which is why he was smiling and was happy. He likes this version.

The last minute of this scene really puts the whole show in perspective. We've been following this personality since episode 1, but we don't see how dangerous he is until season 4 because Mr. Robot was keeping him in the darkness from truth. Angela's death brought out the true Monster inside Elliot this season.
5:09 Krista felt so disappointed about herself about how elliot didn't cared if she trusted him or not and wanna just save her and surprised by his hacking supremacy again.

The absolute brilliance in this 6minutes of runtime.
1. The writing setup for Vera's masterplan to be broken down by Mr Robot as a metaphor for the entire basis of this show: destroying the matrix. My favorite part about this is that everything that he said was absolutely true, it applies entirely in real life. Which is crazy and scary to think about.
2. Vera's observation of the mastermind's absolute genius and terrifyingly powerful hatred for the elite/matrix that is the fuel to all the fire we've seen in the show up to this point.
3. The comedic banter and chemistry between them lol. Apart from all the serious topics and darkness of the episode, you always get some funny lines from Vera that do not take away from the darkness and mood of the show, which is why he is in my top 3 favorite villains of TV of all time. "this aint about being no landlord, bruh!"
