    I wouldn't be surprised if early in the season, Ausar gets looks as a secondary ballhandler (a two), particularly with Cade.

    I agree Ausar should come off the bench and then start . He has potential but I don’t want too much pressure on him from jump

    We still have a roster construction issue, not a single player that can shoot AND play defense. The best lineup we can put out there to at least pretend like we're attempting to be an NBA squad is
    Stewart
    Ausar
    Fontecchio
    Beasley
    Cade
    At least this would give us interior defense and shooting

    • @Pistons_Jack
      @Pistons_Jack  2 месяца назад +1

      I hear what you're saying and I agree partially, but Fontecchio is a great shooter and a solid defender, Stew can shoot and is a great defender, Cade can shoot and has the potential to be solid defensivley at 6'6".

    • @8581scott
      @8581scott 2 месяца назад +1

      @@Pistons_Jack Fontecchio tries on defense so he's not awful, Cade is too big and slow to stick with a lot of guards or chase them on screens yet not strong enough for many SFs, Stewart doesn't shoot enough probably but I get what you're saying.
      The problem is we know Duren and Harris will start so we're basically screwed because of it, we'll either have no shooting or no defense. I guess I'm just really disappointed that with all of that cap space and young assets this summer we came away with maybe a slightly better team with a worse cap situation moving forward.
      Maybe if we trade Ivey, Duren and Harris at the deadline we can have another chance next summer to build around Cade and Ausar the right way

      So is stew tho, someone is gonna be missing out on minutes no matter how you make the lineups. Our bigs have not played over 45 games in the last couple seasons so there will be plenty of minutes for Paul reed when the others need rest

      Very fair question, as I explained in the vid, I just don't see Stew/Reed/Duren featuring heavily in the rotation every night unless Stew is playing most of his minutes at the 4. I personally don't want to see many mins of Stew at the 4, hence why I have Reed out of the rotation for now. Stew and Duren have both had injury issues in the past two seasons, so I think Reed will get plenty of minutes throughout the firs portion of the season.

    I think the Pistons have vasty under utilized the G league. This team has drafted high upside players who need significant development in a few key areas to be NBA players. Ausar can't dribble or shot. If anyone is within 5 feet of him on the perimeter he's picking up the ball and getting rid of it like a hot potato. Last season he was stuck in the corner contributing nothing on offense. Playing home games with the big club and with the g league when the Pistons were on the road for example would have been much better for his offensive development IMO. Amen got all the handling duties in the OTE. Ausar should have been working on improving his handle an exploring his offensive game in the g league last season instead of being standing around contributing basically nothings but cuts and put backs in the NBA. Jarace Walker was much less of a project player and spent most of his time in the g league. Ausar should have as well. I hope the new FO realizes that Ron doesn't have a NBA ready handle and can't utilize his left hand at all. They need to figuratively tie Ron's right hand behind his back, and give him a very specific development plan while playing him 30 minutes in the g league about half the time.
