Would love to get to see this in person eventually. Other than the technology videos, the Spanish history/culture ones are my favorite! Thanks for another great video!
Hi, I have just started to learn Spanish and your videos are superb!! You are using a different angel to teach Spanish in a way that the brain just accepts the grammar and does not get weighed down with rules and reasons, it just comes naturally. Also I have been using the subtitles and settings at the bottom of the screen to slow down the video to 0.75 for pronunciation and having another window open with the Spanish dictionary for reference. I teach English as a foreign language and I have to say that your work and formula is outstanding !!! Thank you so much. Respect Allen
Hola, I've been working my way through the Duolingo Spanish tree (not even up to the second checkpoint), and have been looking for something to help my Spanish listening as I feel I'm top heavy in reading Spanish, but get lost when listening. These videos are a great tool for me to use. I'm not even close to 1%, I don't think, but this will be a big help. Muchas Gracias!
muy interesante, gracias por todo Pablo. ¿puedes continuar con la serie de videos sobre la historia de España? ¿o grabar otro video con tu prima Judit? un video sobre las diferencias entre España y Maruecos sería interesante.
I'm finding myself a a particular language-learning moment and I wonder if anyone else has any experience with it. I've learned languages before but never with straight input, which is more or less what I'm doing with Spanish. I'm currently at the point where I can understand almost all the videos, except for some of the non-Pablo advanced videos. So, now it's frustrating to me that I can't say much. My Spanish-speaking friends also seem to think it's weird that I usually understand them when they speak to me in Spanish, but then I respond in English. I know speaking comes later, but there is a voice in my head saying "just get a workbook and go at it." Did anyone else get frustrated at this point, and what did you do to stay the course?
conbracchiassai I’ve learned a few languages in a classroom setting. I agree, being able to actually converse and speak brings its own excitement and sense of achievement. It also seems as it’s easier to measure progress this way. It is taking a lot of discipline to stick strictly to CI and not grab a book! It’s a strange process to me, but I’m very eager and excited to get to the point where speaking is effortless and so I’m using all the strength I can muster to wait patiently. Some days, I say one or two words or sing along with some song I like. Anyway, all that blah blah blah to say: Yeah, I fee you.
I'm not at that stage yet. I'm Intermediate; however, that point is described exactly on the Language Learning Roadmap. So, apparently it's normal. I would suggest "staying the course".
Ideally, you should be practicing your speaking very early on, and often. Because reading and writing is a whole different beast than reading, writing, and listening. Try finding a tutor or a friend that you can actually practice speaking with. You'll be extremely slow at first but you'll begin to speed up
This is normal. Listening and speaking require different mental processes. You can practice speaking with these videos. Watch a video for 2 min, then pause and try to repeat sentences and phrases. If you cannot, return and listen again until you can repeat them.
Hi Pablo, what are your thoughts on learning 2 or more languages at once? Do you think that the vocabulary of different languages will get mixed up and cause chaos in your head or do you see some other problem in that? Thanks!
I think it's okay if you're already at a good level in one of the languages. You can listen to podcasts and audios of your more advanced language when you're going to places, and watch comprehensible video content in your weaker language when you can sit down and pay attention. Words in other languages can come out if you try to speak a language that you're not that advanced in yet, but that's just because your brain is just trying to reach for words it doesn't have. Once you become good enough at the language that stops happening almost completely.
After spending days studying spanish grammar and words, I watched this video which made me feel so hopeless because I didn't understand almost any of it!!
You should manage your expectations! You can't expect a high level of understanding in just a few days. Start watching the superbeginner videos and focus on getting the gist of the video, don't focus on how many individual words you understand. Soon enough you'll start getting the meaning of more and more words.
I recommend starting with the superbeginner videos! They're meant to let you learn Spanish from zero and without translating from English. You can find more information about the method in the description of each video.
That sounds like a lot of fun, but I think there should be giraffes.
Last time we were in Sevilla it was August. Now, we have to go back in abril. Muchas gracias, Pablo!

I agree, these history/culture ones are my favorite as well. More, Pablo, more! :)

Super!! So great explanations, very interesting and good to remember.
Sounds like great fun. I’d go for the food!
Thanks for the video Pablo. Hope all is well.

Really enjoyed that!
This is very helpful!!! ¡Muchas Gracias señor! ❤✨
Me encanta el ruido del caballo. Buen trabajo!!! Es una buena oportunidad para aprender vocabulario.

Muchas gracias por el video, Pablo!
Great video as always, Pablo!

¡Muchas gracias! Fue muy interesante. ¿Si entendí casi cada palabra en este video, puedo empezar mirar los videos intermedios?
¡Inténtalo!

We’re all in this together! And I agree, the roadmap is wonderful 🙂 Trust the process!

Not for beginners - more like intermediate.
