5 highlighted issues as a user had after a year.
    1. Problems with the ADAS System ADAS automatic braking onboard the XUV 700 is faulty, and is applying brakes when not needed resulting in the wearing of brake pads in mere 10,000 Kms
    2. Check Engine Light .. visiting the service centre repeatedly to tackle the issue.
    3. Problems with Speakers and Adreno X .. 6-speaker audio set-up has been repeatedly reported to crackle on high volume, while the AdrenoX X reportedly takes a millennium to respond
    4. Alexa Problem .. Alexa simply refuses to work 90% of the time.
    5. Suspension .. While going over bumps, the SUV reportedly creates “thud” noises and the overall suspension itself is quite noisy.
Still not saying its a bad car its actually an good suv option .. my only feedback was to give negatives along with the positives in a long term review. That helps viewers to make the right judgment.

All issues sorted with new software update. Mine is March model. No such issues now.

    • @motoroctane
      @motoroctane  Год назад +8

      Hi Manish
      1. If you are driving in bumper-to-bumper city traffic mostly, your brake pad life will be between 10,000-15,000kms only. Or even if you drive at high speeds brake very hard. Nothing to do with ADAS, you can change the Forward collision warning to delayed.
      2. Please get the car checked - this can't be ignored
      3. We have the 12-speaker system - haven't experienced the 6-speaker set-up for long-term
      4. Alexa/Apple CarPlay/Android Auto are all 3rd party softwares and in all car brands you will struggle with them especially when one goes wireless.
      5. Suspension has some noise on bad roads, that isn't bad suspension - that needs better insulation. The 2 are very different points.

A couple of drawbacks I found.
    1. Ingress/egress - getting in or out of the vehicle is slightly tricky always. with footrest it becomes even more troubling. And I'm a 6' person.
For elderly, it's not easy given the high base, but not high enough to use footrest/sidestand.
2 . Mileage . In petrol version, it's not more than 9 in local. Even with driving softly persistently, on average it's 7-9. In fact on the lower side.
    3. Not a con per se, But it's a big car. And cleaning it is a hastle. Specially the edges and door handles' insides.

Thanks for an excellent one year review Rachit.
It would have been further informative if you could have also commented on the common issues being faced and raised by other XUV 7OO users eg. Suspension issues like rattling on uneven surfaces, sudden prominent thud sound from suspension on hitting biggish potholes.
Similarly the cost cutting by Mahindra inspite of fairly High Price (26.5 lakhs ex showroom in Punjab) eg. No Auto Dimming Internal Rear View Mirror, No Ventilated Seats, No electric seat adjust for Co Driver Seat, No Cross Traffic Alert, No telescopic steering on most models other than top model, No 360 camera even in AX7, mood lighting etc which are available on lesser models of other cars like Tata Safari, MG Hector etc.
BTW I have booked the same model as of yours in white colour and am awaiting delivery. However, I recommend you call a spade a spade. Not bringing out the truth is akin to a lie.
    Thanks for the review though.

      Hey Gurpreet
So suspension issue is the quality of ride or just suspension noise?
Buying a car is almost like a marriage - your partner will have some good qualities, maybe some bad - if you think they are so bad that you shouldn't marry him/her - valid point. If it isn't a big point - then there has to be acceptance.
Also - if you want more features - you can opt for the Tucson or Innova Hycross - everything comes for a price always only if you are willing to pay.
      Thank you :)

    • @gurpreetbhullar1893
      @gurpreetbhullar1893 Год назад +28

Please don't take offence. Good youtuber would be more resilient and would welcome positive criticism. It helps you grow.
Unbiased Review means pros and cons, not praise.
Infact you have said that in your reply on my comment "some good some bad." But you have covered only good.
Also, the additional features I have mentioned are wrt Tata Safari and MG Hector and even one segment lower cars.
      And Sorry, No.
buying a car, which is a material object is not akin to marriage, it would be a foolhardy comparison. Marriage is much more solemn.

Now u have already spent 29.why not 1.5 more
    2) it's really low on maintenance and has big fuel mileage advantage
    3) engine is most powerful in less than 80 lacs car
Except fortuner caravan gloster which is slightly more powerful but aaprox 50 to 70 percent higher cost
    4) braking sound light safety and other main features are no compromise and supercedes all others
    5) I have experienced a top speed in excess of 165 with all seats occupied with still scope to increas speed
    6) my def warning is there at 6500 kms run only( may be my personal drive habit, in Mumbai City also 110 plus speed whenever there is a scope.
    7) I had booked l edition awd diesel automatic but for some reason I could not own l
    Since engine specs were same
And major difference came down to 3 things, 360 camera, sound and airbag extra,

    Or

Auto engine stop start ebd abs eb lane assist adas
    8) adas is useless as per me
Adapatuve cruise works fantastic but it doesn't recognises any size speed brakers
Mean if speed set is 60 it will croos a 12 inch breaker at theta speed of 60 and u will end up throwing ur head to roof top.
    Rest adas is phenomenal success.

Typically cars require to change breakpads every 48,000 to 1 lakh+ kilometers, there is something seriously wrong in XUV700 break pads, found many videos where people sell their car within 3-4 months due to break failure. Even for an SUV you can expect upto 40k kms and then change the pads, but XUV700 requires frequent replacements of breakpads prematurely every 15k kms at worst even 10kms in some videos I've seen. Never heard "replace break pads every 15k kms" with other cars

I think overall the Safari is a better car now because it has caught up to the XUV 700 in terms of features. However, the Safari also has ventilated seats, a better third row and second row seats can slide forward and backward, which makes it the better 7 seater. The XUV 700 has a better cabin and is more fun to drive but overall, the Safari beats it.
