I saw the strangest circumstance the other day on that finale map. Me and 3 other randoms online had just set up 2 on stage 2 on the platforms on stairs and as the concert was started it immediately ended the chopper came in tanks were spawned and we had to make a desperate rush for heli. Got some achievement aswell for not leaving stage during the whole fight, in all the years I played this game never seen that happen...
What I find even more impressive than the speed run gameplay is the research and knowledge of the inner workings of the games they speed run. Great job on the videos too.
I don't speed run and barely know anything about this particular map but I find speed runs fascinating because they're at the essence of trying to master something and be the best at it using every single thing to your advantage in an obsessive manner. And it shatters the notion that gaming is something unambitious losers do, which is a shaming tactic usually engaged in by parents or close family members. I think it's important to succeed in the real world as well, but this can be a big part of it. If you apply this type of passion and meticulous dedication in any area of life I think you stand a great shot at success. Of course, life is not a video game and there are many more variables but i think it still holds true.
Oh you haven't seen nothing yet when it comes to "oddly specific" things in valve games. Go watch LazyPurple's video "How it feels to suffer in SFM" where he talks about the making of his "How it feels to play engineer" video. The god damn wrangler laser is haunted by the ghost of a dark machine god.
It's not that odd actually. Finales are designed in a way where the players can't go back to the saferoom during a finale. Like the elevator in the deadcenter finale, and that jump to the helicopter landing zone in no mercy. In the concert, it's pretty flat on the ground so when a player triggers the finale, that passage way from the saferoom to the stage closes. Having a surivivor stay there while 1 player triggers the finale will kick those who stayed back.
@@iseya3400 To remove not only the player from the lobby but the character itself though is a strange choice vs teleporting said player to a set point in the finale or simply killing them without deleting the character
The tick and the input part was really interesting, i grew up playing every valve game under the sun except the left 4 dead games, which I picked up in my 20s so it even felt different and know I know why. I’d been conditioned to expect things to be a certain way, but it’s different in left 4 dead 2 that is too cool.
It may also have to do with L4D being made by Turtle Rock instead of Valve internally, and L4D2 reused a lot of the original game's code and assets, so is probably why it inherited some of its quirks.
Actually for the Boomer Bile, I've picked one up on the finale, in one of the toilets... it's EXTREMELY rare to find one beyond Map 1. And whenever I play the campaign Solo or Co-Op.... I hold on to that bile until the finale to distract the Commons from the copter. And I also pray I find an Adrenaline and Chainsaw early... to rush ahead for map 4 xD
so weird for me to see any l4d content of any type nowadays. l4d1 is my fav game of all times but i think im just more nostalgic for the time period it came from then actually missing the game itself anymore
Correction at 11:00 It kicks everyone that is still inside the area and not just the safe room Because the shutter door closes and Everything inside will despawn/kick because its in a spot no one can access For the multiplayer/versus, it is patched but in some cases it still kicks the player/infected
I never knew the helicopter could spawn on the side you enter from. I don't know how many times i've played this map but it has only ever spawned on the opposite side.
This was insane! Great coverage. The bunny hops remind me of the Super Mario RPG 100 Super Jump challenge. So the cinematic like footage is from spectating him running it seems?
