Hello there! PyramidK here, congrats on the video Waifu it was a good review of what speedrunning re3 feels like, but I would like to clarify some things to everybody in the comments.
First of all, this game is not about running and opening doors hoping to get the best possible RNG and get WR, which is something I read in the comments a couple of times.
There's so many technical stuff behind this run that takes a long time to master like training to be fast when you have to input a solution or techniques like DICs strats, quickshooting, door skips, movement, menus, the ability to improvise under different situations, etc
As waifu pointed out, in reality and in practice, getting RNG good enough to take WR is not uncommon, this video doesn't explain the AMOUNT of things you have to do well to take advantage of "WR" rng.
My run has human mistakes, like every other run on the leatherboards so that means you could still get WR even with slighly worse rng as only in human mistakes I probably lost around 10 seconds.
Also not every RNG was mentioned here, my run wasn't even close to be perfect rng run, so many things went wrong like for example getting bitten by zombie on the ground in RPD (rng), second try locker, late powders (huge timeloss), bad enemy placement in carlos, etc
So for those of you thinking this game is dead or that is not worth it to run it, it's totally the opposite, I invite you all to give it a try, you'll find out really quick how the balance is 80% execution 20% rng, because eventually everybody gets RNG good enough to at least be in the top 3 with a good execution.
Awesome video Waifu
Never surrender!
You are a fuckin alpha male chad pyramid...
Amazing run
I am playing Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. Great Gameplay! ^_^ Your Speedrun is excellent
The Re3 God
F this f game, literally a speech from a legend himself 😁
"I GOT POISONED!"
That's a mood.
lmao i love wolf
Pfft, that was pretty funny. XD
ngl I freaked out each time because of the volume difference
@@WaifuRuns I laugh every time I hear wolf yell it.
That's a wolfdnc moment 😂
I remember when i first was introduced to RE3 by my classmate. I didn't sleep entire night because Nemesis scared me so much i still refuse to touch Resident Evil 3 lol.
i played this game as a child to prove im not a coward to my brother, worst nightmare ive ever had lol
@@chereeeee Yep screw Nemesis! lol
I remember back when I was 8 or 9 years old I was scared to just leave the office area at the very first part of the game, couldnt do it. My mom was like maybe we should return the game if you're so scared.
But the catharsis of knifing him on Hard though. Pay that bastard back for scarring your childhood like I did.
@@ashharkausar413 And then you get further in and you realise Nemesis can follow you through doors. My sister and I FREAKED the first time that happened.
Huge props to Pyramid. Great runner , great mentality. Just as you said, luck doesn't matter if ur skill isn't at high level.
luck literally matters when you're trying to get a WR on this game though lol
@@Q8_BoRashed i agree, but luck is pointless if u don't have enough skill for WR
I swear this game feels when you are up on a PB by a ton and just throws nightmarish RNG at you.
Yo camelot331 Big fan of your channel
I quit playing for a year because of it. Really good, 18:52 train crash. 6 change. Damn it
Anti-speedrun implementations are quite annoying.
So to put it in simple terms, Running Resident Evil 3 Nemesis is like holding onto a winning lotto ticket inside a tornado - Gotcha!
Still cant get over the fact that the clock tower is absent from the remake
I still cant get over the fact they turned nemesis into a scripted push over
@@DocumentGaming uhm no?
Ohh come on the new RE3 has nothing to do with the original one wich is far better game
Re3 remake was a waste of their time and our time as fans. Im not even looking forward to re4 remake they might just cut the entire castle section
@@DocumentGaming in the OG re3 he followed you through out most of the game in RE3 remake you see him like three times when walking around raccoon city and the rest is scripted but even when you do see him it’s all down linear paths (besides the first encounter)
5:13 I've never seen a zombie bite that high he's literally eating Jill in more than one way.
Lmao
bro that's healing bites
Jai Rovira
Like Karin’s ability in Naruto?
@Darkanonymous
Wow what a disgustingly childish thing to say and think.
@@SexyLilSeaOtter your comment says one thing your internet history says another ;)
Legit my favorite RE speed run. Watching a runner get good rng and have flawless execution, is the pinnacle of hype.
The worm is the biggest problem. Its very difficult to take it out in one cycle even with good RNG. Half a second delay and you cannot launch the last grenade
0.00000000000000000000018% chance? Somebody call Dream, I think we found his next big speedgame.
These runners aren't cheating tho lol
Imagine that he has the rocket launcher, all the Keyes, unlimited health, and speed up.
Stans would still believe that it's a not cheated run
So you’re saying there’s a chance
Based on luck and skill in general so psssht i'm happy just running the game for fun, so good luck to that person if they decide to go all in, #rooting
wtf Dream Stan
15:36 and 18:26 has weird loud sounds in my right headphone. Sounds like something used to time your lines or something. Scared the shit out of me lmao. Great video tho
Imagine getting the WR with all the Lucky Chances and forgetting to record.
This was an interesting watch. I’m glad you made this because I think the speedrunners of this game in particular deserve a little more recognition as this run is so more cruel than the usual RE. The top runners of this, especially Pyra, just make me wanna do better myself. It’s pretty inspiring. Thanks for making this man
So they deserve more recognition because the game is more rng heavy? How does that make them more worthy of merit? It doesn't increase the amount of skill needed. All it does is increase the amount of grinding needed. Does that mean they're more dedicated than other RE runners? I would say no. They're just more masochistic or have more free time, which again doesn't make it more commendable
@@Walamonga1313 I think I might have miswrote what I meant or maybe you took it up wrong, sorry. I didn’t mean that they deserve more props than a particular RE and screw anyone running a low RNG based run, I just meant more so in general. I never felt like this game got the same amount of viewership and attention as something like RE2R (which I run myself). And I thought that was kind of on the unfortunate side cuz this speedrun is so exciting to watch imo, cuz anything can happen. I watch other runs that have virtually no RNG like RE1 og. I’ve so much respect for the likes of Clix, Hamo, Wittchrain, Holysoul... I wasn’t really talking about the meritocracy of it, (maybe by accident I was lol), just the level of excitement. I generally don’t like to sit and debate over what’s a more skillful run or which has a higher skill cap. I thought that this game in particular was a testament to the human spirit of never giving up because of its random brutality. I didn’t mean to trigger anyone lol. Just couldn’t help saying something positive because I love watching this
1:06 seeing Zuko gets angry over speedrunning RE3...
Speedrunner: Hey guys, I got a new WR on RE3!
Fans: But did you *YOLO CARLOS* ?
Love the channel man! Just found ya. The breakdowns of RNG in these Speedruns are extremely interesting to me. Can’t wait for more!
Really great production value, rigorous research, and presentation. Your voiceover delivery is fantastic too -- great cadence and intonation.
I am really enjoying this series. Not only does it put into perspective how great the runners actually are for getting WR, but how the RNG gods have to smile on the runners for them to even have a chance. Thanks for this great content!
"In this dinning room the zombies can eat Carlos for dinner. Don't we all wish we could?"
We all wish we could, indeed.
7:52 "Returning to my garage, in the Hollywood Hills" 🤣🤣🤣
Best part of this video
@@ss2jesus whats the joke? : P

This is some super good quality content my dude🤘🏻 keep going like this
8:57 I don’t want to know what happens when the game gives you the last 10%
I guess, being killed?
If it was EA the last 10% would be a DLC
@@brunorodriguessilva9075 there was a time when ea were good developers and I believe this game was around that time (from the graphics is what I'm assuming)
Watching orchlon rage is one of the few delights of twitch
He gave up. He's not trying to beat the record anymore
11:40 OMEGALUL Good explanation on RNG for RE3 Waifu !!!
Every second is valuable in this game
That's just every speedrun
In life
Just got this video recommended by the algorithm. This thing's getting good at identifying tastes. This video was great. I subbed.
Good job on the editing, analysis and some memeworthy moments! good vid overall, keep it up! thanks! subbed like fav
Sometimes I wonder how many desks Orchlon has busted through.
3:28 “after seeing the civilian seal his fate”. CIVILIAN?! Don’t ever treat my boy Dario like some common street trash...
It’s amazing how much rng is acctually in this game. Awesome video Waifu :)
Am I just crazy, or do some of these numbers only add to 90% instead of 100%? Like the "Nemmy" RNG after the Early Powder is 46% good and 44% bad RNG, and that's only 90%. Where's the other 10%???
I guess based on his 50 or 100 trials, so he came up with that. The remaining % is probably just bad gameplay / mechanics.
the other 10% is you being killed.
The other runs he didn't push that far
I noticed the same thing.
This also bugged me
Found your channel in passing and just wanted to say dude your brand is sick! Much love
You are amazing waifu the way you explain things is so fancy and clean nice work
„I got poisened“ gets me everytime 😂😂😂
I GOT POISONED
Really liking these breakdown videos!
Wow fair play to these guys!! I just enjoy watching the game being played well... Thanks for the excellent video btw sir!
Dude, yessssss, I have been waiting for this video for such a long time!!! I'm a somewhat new re3 runner for fun on my channel and this definitely will help me step my game up, thanks Waifu much love!!!
Great video, Waifu. Looking forward to the next one!
3:10 i think her health is restored after she gets to meet Dario. So, most of times the runner will take the hit.
yes after that cutscene when she escapes to the warehouse where dario is, you are back at 200hp no matter how many times that 1st zombie bit you
And after 2 years the record has finally been broken by MattGael with a 40:35
I will hear "A 2 second time save!" in my nightmares now. Love the vids
Love the comedy stuff you put in these. Keep up the great work man!
11:40 Dude I’m dying, did not expect WolfDNC’s voice to come through my speakers 😂

Great video, as a new runner if this game it is very interesting to see the percentage of things especially with how daunting this run can be

Good stuff, Waifu, love the content
Dude, these videos are awesome!
I have beat this game more than I have any others really except for maybe the smackdown ones on ps2, this was a great video explaining it all
Great video man!
Waifu says Safsprin is 33% chance but I get Aquacure 100% of the time :(
Then type aquacure and get it every time ez
What would be harder, to get the perfect RNG for this game, or to get Waifu to speedrun this?
Perfect rng. You could bribe him to play with enough money
Congrats on the video. RE3 is by far my favorite game ov all time, and I think it all belongs to the nemesis jumpscares
great video waifu, very entertaining
The more RNG there is, the more chances there are to make and lose time, the only time a game's "dead" is if there's no RNG or somebody actually achieves not only a perfect run but has perfect RNG as well.
Great video, love watching people run this game and have done for nearly a decade.
Orchlon is absolutely one of the OGs in the Resident evil speedrunning community
Wow. Just played this as a kid a few times and never knew it had this much rng
Love these vids man
Neat explanation! Thanks for uploading!
Almost 3 years later and someone finally beat it.
This video is excellent! A great run-down of almost every detail but is missing just 1 thing that would make it perfect.......Orch's "YOU BASTARD!" zombie right at the end lol
Nice video ! Speedrunners are really something ! Gota love that reaction though after spending untold hours to break WR : "fuck this game !" ;-)
Thanks!! New sub here!
After seeing RE4 video a couple weeks ago i was waiting this one
stay tuned for the next
I never realized all the R&G in this game, great video
I liked how you compared both probabilities in the video. Showing what happened
He really did get poosned.
3:15 Jill is recovered after the first bite, isn't she? O.o
Yes.
you have "healed" 2 times, after first bite and when carlos give the vaccine
Orch, Bawk and Pryamid are the one of the best speedruners of RE3 in my opinion, but Bawk has the worst basement luck tho, love the video tho
Or bawk gets aquacucked every time 😂
I remember bawk saying if you treated re3 as a job and did it 8 hrs a days 7 days a week, you can still get a crappy time despite the skill you develop.
Bawk is incredibly unfunny and annoying.
>shames people for bloodline memes and calls them unfunny
>has "Jill Sandwich" sound byte as "new follower" ringtone
And don't get me started about him trying to imitate every fucking noise in the game as he plays (on top of being tone-deaf).
I play RE3 every September 28, watching this tonight for inspiration tomorrow!
Small note here, 1st bite or no, your health is restored to full after the first cutscene. It's easy to prove, just take a few extra bites and proceed. You'll notice you're no longer in caution and back to fine health.
I though it was smart when he said “ don’t ask me to run this game I won’t do it” then switched scenes to Dario Rasso screaming “NEVER”. Idk if he did it on purpose but I though it was funny
"Returning to my garage in the Hollywood hills..."
Fucking yelled with laughter. You got my sub for that.
“The dogs are good boys so they save two seconds” xD best line
This has to be one of my favourite Resident Evil games of all time ❤️
LOVE YOUR CHANNEL WAIFU!!!!
I love this series
i got poison watching dude hahahaha, great video xd
Pyramid sanity before 100%
After the speedrun 1% sanity left
In the times of the PS1 I only have this game haha
My best time ever were 1 hour and 10 min and I didn't know that this game had that much rng.
I love your avatar
@@Strawhalo ty I love my avatar too
Re3 races are so fun to watch
I GOT POISONED, lmao that shout got me good.
"I GOT POISONED!"
Seems i found my spirit animal
If you take damage in the very first section, before entering the warehouse, it does not carry on to the rest of the game. Your health can be at danger, but once you enter the warehouse your health will be fine.
love this channel
I watched my dad playing this game on ps1, i had a nightmare that night that i still remember more than 10 years later.
Will you do an explanation of RE3 remake speedruns ? Curious to know what your thoughts are about its mechanics and systems for speedrunning, particularly the DA (difficulty adjustment) system as I remembered Distortion2 did not like that system
Its sad af the randomized mode was pretty much buried in the re 3 remake
Your content is so fucking good, im sad that the algorithm doesn't take you more on the way :(
great content!
imagine how much it sucks that the game is being considerate for you and giving you one of the strongest weapons in the game at the start and it actually just ends your whole career.
This is like *DJ Khaled suffering from success*
Hes a true ledgend for even beating orchlons record and to think i tbhought noone would ever beat it damn GG Pyramid
Bawkbasoup, Orchlon and Pyramid K are my holy trinity of Resident Evil running!
Resident evil 2's RNG seems to kick in at really inopportune moments, Resident Evil 3 hates you and doesn't want you to be happy!
At this point I'll just call it "Randomness Evil 3" 😂😂
Just dropping this random comment here, but... Most RNG factors are decided really early in the game... I don't know what it is, but I've noticed something I call "Dimensions". The game has two separate split dimensions, and I still don't know what triggers them although I have my theories, and if you're willing to read this to learn about it and maybe try it for yourself let me steal a bit of your time:
In Dimension A: You get most things you'd want in a "good RNG" situation: The big crowd of zombies by the battery elevator in raccoon city, the grenade launcher in the police station, and some other things you may not like, for instance there's zombies in the swamp instead of hunters, but there's hunters in the park instead of dogs in the area to the opposite side of the cemetery after the hospital.
In Dimension B: You get some other different results, but it's all been very consistant based on my investigation, for instance: You get an early B powder in the dark alley before the first battle with Nemmy, but you get the Magnum. You get the zombies crowded in the back on the elevator area, the swamp has hunters and the park way has dogs.
To this day, I don't know what triggers this or how many more things change, I know a few gunpowder placements are different, as well as enemy arrangements, for instance the early B Powder, or the fact that you get B Powders in the area where Nicolai "dies" the first time instead of the battery elevator zone.
So far I know two "possible" theoretical triggers that can "alternate your dimension": So far, from what I've observed, you always start in "Dimension A", unless in the beginning of the game you grab the B powder that's on a car that gets it's door busted by a zombie. If you grab that item, you're now in Dimension B.
When you're in the cablecar, if you jump through the window, depending on your RNG, you can get flame rounds instead of freezing rounds, but this can change and switches.
It's also possible that these "Dimensions" may switch depending on how much time you take in the first area of the game, as taking the B powder on the car itself consumes time. I think there are more changes, like the Spider placements or the drain deimos placements in the city, and that's about it, but you can "know" which "Dimension" you're in, if you go to the dark alley save room before the first Nemmy fight: If you see a B powder there, you're in dimension B, and every RNG from that point onwards should be consistant if you pay attention to the details and compare them with a run where you did NOT see the B powder.
Edit: Did a random run for fun yesterday where I did not pick up the B Powder on the car at the beginning and saved the game before getting the weapon at the police station. Got the grenade launcher three times, lost to nemesis, then decided it would be a good idea to go back and get that B powder, did so, and when I went back to the police station the GL was now a magnum.
I’m impressed with the amount of times people have put in got this (or any game really) game for so many years. I can only aim at a personal best record for myself. Even if I had all the time in the world, I just don’t have the patience for that no matter how much I enjoy a game. Not to mention I such at the dodge and can only randomly remember two of the three medicine names at the computer. I tried guessing for the hell of it a couple times and MAYBE got it right once on the first try. Not to mention I tried going so fast that I flew over the letters I needed so I had to go back to the back space button. There are so many other details, but if be here all day.
I think the only thing more impressive is the amount of time you put into analyzing the amount of time saved/lost for even the smallest details that can randomly occur. There are way too many fractions of seconds of things that can be saved/lost at so many places it’s ridiculous. Zombies vs dogs at one location, the magnum vs grenade launcher at the RPD, and a ton of others. Awesome video.
If you like random in speedruns, you could check Lufia 2 ancient cave. But, great video! Loved it, thanks!
