I watched a lot of your videos, and I've never seen someone so good at finding black morels especially. What do You key in on when you look for them? I live in Southern Ontario and I don't find many black morels.
Public land is doable but not ideal. You are a good hunter to find that amount in a busy area. We do not get blacks in lower Wisconsin. What trees do you find them associated with?
i just love watching this.. it's a bit early in the season for eastern washington to start popping, and i took a trip down to oregon at the beginning of hte month but i was about a week early for the flush, as i timed the weather a bit wrong
Def worth it...I found some keepers today in a hard hit county park in east central Iowa, found two that straddled a well traveled hiking path...Three weeks ago today I found almost three pounds of huge grays in a ten foot circle, they were no more than ten feet from a well traveled bike path.
At 8m10s, does that creek bottom area join a golf course? I'm from Tennessee and when our shrooms were gone I headed to IN in 2019. I hunted an area that looked almost identical to that creek area. Here in TN, they won't let you hunt morels on a "state park"" - bummer.
I'm up here in Huntington. Have you seen them this year yet? I'm heading out to public area tomorrow. We have 2 huge reservoirs here. I'm glad you posted this.
It is possible on public land and have success. Last year I found 6lbs around one tree. It can be slim pickins’ though. I hunt a lot of public. My hunt vid posted was public. Just don’t have access to much private.
It was definitely worth it man! Great video
We find some big yellows around in those same type leaves.
Just came across your channel bro and let me tell you, that mustache is majestic.

Good exercise and a good sack to boot. Well worth it! Great find!🍄
Not a bad day. I see the ramps grow well there too.

Oh man.. I would love to find some! Are they finished in southwest Virginia???
I live in southwest VA too, hopefully we have a good year for mushrooms.
nice mushroom hunting we live by Terre Haute
4 hours for that vs 30 minutes on private property is like 2 times that many. xD
