Having an art studio like yours is a dream for every artist. Without any doubt this is the most compleate and well organised place for art I have ever seen on internet. It is obvious that only a proffesional passionate and harworking artist can do this. Everithing is completely customized for your specific activity so that you can get the maximum creativeness and stimulation. Congratulation for all what you have done and especially how cost effective you created all the stuff there!

I agree George, I shopped everywhere looking for a really good easel for my canvas' and finally bought one (not cheap) that in all honesty it turned out to be a piece of junk. I love Andrews "Cleat Wall" concept. Very easy to build and it allows for the latitude to anchor all kinds of mood lights, photo references, pens and pencils etc. anywhere at will and to change them up as needed. Great stuff Andrew!

Andrew, I discovered your videos over the winter and have watched most of them. They made me realise I never really knew where to start, not unusual as I am self taught. My own 'studio' is a 6ft x 6ft shed with a roof light I set-in myself (like you I like making stuff) plus adapted ceiling lights with daylight bulbs. It's fairly limited with a home made full size easel, home made drawer rack, side work surface and foam insulation. Yes, all on the cheap. I'm looking forward to the warmer weather to get back to a landscape and a portrait I have been planning. If only my painting skills were as full as my enthusiasm I'd be... well, average. Just putting that out there for people like me who will never be an accomplished artist but get pleasure (and some pain) from trying. Looking forward to more of your videos.

Andrew, just listened to an interview with you which was so enjoyable - a thought struck me about you being asked how can you paint when all the world is in a mess like it is? - but it's exactly because the world has so many challenges that we must paint - that's why artists and creative people are born - to move the world forward by sharing visions of a better world. Every tiny thing we think, say or do ripples out and touches everyone's lives on levels we can't imagine. The worth of that to this world is invaluable and we may never fully grasp just how much of an effect and influence we are having, even by just being here - seeing everyone, interacting, moving through this world with the eyes and purpose of a creative artist. We create because of an irrepressible love of beauty and that love of beauty cannot fail to change the world.
Thank you for all you do and for inspiring me not to go missing from my own life, to turn up, to be prepared and to determine to be more present and fearlessly, fully engaged in my own path and find my own unique voice and vision.
From my heart to yours - thank you brother, your Presence in this world is priceless.

Andrew I love your studio you gave some very good pointers on it to. I have been painting for almost 60 years and had to downsize my studio over the last 10 years due to health and location, from a large room in my home with a fully stocked work shop to watercolors on my kitchen table and oils in a corner of my living room in a one bedroom apartment. I'm looking forward to your video on small studios hope I can learn from It. Your paintings and videos are fantastic.

Andrew I absolutely loved this. Thank you so much! The tour, interspersed with tips and tricks was so entertaining and educational. I love that you use antiques to store supplies - something I too love to do... I hunted down all kinds of old wooden card catalogs, drawers and even a watchmaker's cabinet to store my art and craft supplies. I also love that you have carried on your mother's talent and treasure her portfolio! My dad taught me to draw and oil paint when I was young - now I am retired and getting the paints back out and treasure the silliest of things; I have his old Bob Ross / William Alexander palette knife and am thrilled to put it to use again! Your space is a dream come true - amazing and organised and full of character. Thank you so much for having me in your Studio. I wish one day I could travel there to see it in person, but since that's probably not going to happen, this is the next-best thing!

What a great video.....agree 1 million percent with your "Creative Minds" theory. I have worked as an interior decorator for 20 years and found it the perfect venue to exercise my creative mind while away from the easel or sketchbook. My clients quickly realize I can convey my vision much more quickly through a rough sketch..and that color and paint selections are my most fav aspect of the design. Envisioning a finished space in my mind's eye is another perk from my art background. Loving returning to the easel and making it my new priority. Keep these videos coming! Your enthusiasm is contagious!

Love it. You think like I do when planning something to make/build. My carpenter husband can build anything "if" he has a "real" plan with measurements, etc. Me, I create something needed like you! LOL. It's in our heads I think, like a painting before we ever really start. I agree, we apply the creativeness to everything. I teach piano, carving, painting- and a good teacher has to be creative in explaining. If the student doesn't understand something, you must say it in another way, repeating the same thing won't get anywhere. It may take several "another ways". I also love to cook/bake and even got to go to the Pillsbury Bake-Off years ago and won several national recipe contests with my own creations. Artists must create, no matter what or how! Thanks again Andrew. Wonderful video.

As an artist, I sometimes hit a painters block, and need inspiration. Your presence and ideas as well as instruction fills that block and inspires me to stay in my little studio. I have so many ideas and subject matter as I am a retired Rancher in Florida spending a lot of time in the cattle and citrus business and seeing the old Florida disappear with development, I have a strong desire to get that history on canvas; the cow camps; roundups; Kerr dogs used to bunch cattle and personalities of "day riders" who assist us on the big roundups. Many of the things you have suggested I do. Hard problems to solve are put aside such as a painting of manatee's and for two years I would pass by that work when I solved the problem. I have a cabinet, old library cardholder, that I keep tubes of paint and brushes and electrical for quick use.
Thank you for the effort and time you use to inspire artist everywhere.

What a work space...and the gallery next door. Before I retired I had a similar set up, but on a smaller scale. Just a pleasure to work in something like that. Makes you excited to go to work. And having the gallery attached makes it so much easier to sell work ( apart from all the interruptions) I paint less these days, in a smaller space. You brought back a lot of memories. Your studio is wonderful; I have a fairly nice one also. What I don’t have is your talent and amazing ability. I think I need to get into something like an old fashioned phone booth and be infused with extra talent! I’m basically a watercolor with colored pencil artist, but I’d give anything to paint as well as you. Best wishes and stay well from Connecticut in the US! Jane 😉

Dear Andrew, this was a wonderful video. I learnt a lot. Two things are my takeaway - 1) keep things organized. and 2) things will automatically be clean. The lighting is also an important aspect. I usually try to do as much as possible before the daylight starts getting mellow (around 3 is in Kolkata, India).

What an Exellent organized studio you have now. I have been watching you start from the very beginning of what you wanted to create / have. Now you are a successful artist. if I were still young, I could have learned the creativiy of paintings from you. God bless you Andrew.

MAKE IT TIGHTER... tighten down the bolts a little more on your wall fixture will give a smooth controllable operation of it... more stability with out it slipping out of place. Or also add SPRING LOADED adjusters to the bolts and washers for more control and stability.

Really enjoyed this video. It must be a dream come true after many years of hard work. It is beautiful and I am so happy for you and I can see you love it. Although this video is awesome I am looking forward to your video for smaller studios for folks like myself. I use half of our guest bedroom for my studio, and although I am quite neat and organized, I am sure you have some great ideas for improvement. Thank you for all that you share. You are an inspiration and after watching your videos, when stuck, I get inspired to try new things and not be afaid.

Andrew, fantastic tour. I have been in advertising and graphic design for 40, years just retired. My new passons, oil painting, model making and large metal sculpture (welding)I have an outside shop for the welding and share an office studio with my wife. At the end your tour you mentioned a video for small space studios (very interested) Also the creativity thoughts at the end.......the way I have always lived my life. I live design and art 24/7.

Thank you Andrew, what an interesting tour of your enviable facility. Well done. I live in a retirement Community and our home space does not allow me the luxury of a 'studio'. Nevertheless, that does not stop me from painting ,a pastime I love . I paint outside on the deck, we do have " to the floor" clear blinds though to lower 'n keep it cool breeze free :) 'n wind up or halfway in warmer days. I am 83 yo and will continue to paint as long as I can see and hold a brush. I thank you for your beautiful art and watching your videos inspires me to keep creating and enjoying my efforts to produce the best results I can . You are a wonderful role model to all aspiring artists, young 'n old. I wish you Health 'n Happiness in your life.

Very informative, especially your wall easel which is easy to adapt to smaller spaces. This goes for some of your other ideas. Not everyone has the space but can make the available space work more effectively. Thanks for a great video as always. Jaci from Durban South Africa.

My parents and I almost Emigrated to New Zealand in 1970s. Wellington. They even had jobs and a house there. They changed their minds at the last moment. I’d have been a different person if it had come about I think. I worked with a lad from Wellington. He’d emigrated to England. He returned to Wellington often to see his parents. Beautiful islands, but I’ve only seen them on TV.

You have probably received tons of compliments on that awesome studio space of yours, but still once again fantastic studio mate!!! And having watched your older videos I also know that you have worked in a single room home studio too. you mentioned that the only space that mattered was the 2 feet between you and your easel! I mean you are just soo driven man!! Can't wait for that next video about a home studio... that's something that i could really use. Cheers! Never stop making videos!!!
