Today we’re gonna answer that question.
Now enchiladas are a favorite in our kitchen but it’s always a war between how they’re gonna get made.
My Mom is going to make her Tex-Mex style enchiladas using Wolf Brand Chili and Longhorn Cheddar, while I’m gonna whip up my enchiladas with a more traditional red sauce and topped with queso fresco.
Let’s fire it up and make some ENCHILADAS! Развлечения
Mom's cooking is always the best 👌
Even when it isn't...😅
I love this guy, and especially when he's with his mom. It's more than food.
100% agree
It’s so wholesome.
Absolutely.
Food looks great but the love in the family is even better 😭
Arnie we made your mom’s enchilada recipe here at our house man they were Good my family loved them so much we made them twice 😂. Tell your mom thank you 😊.
That is awesome!
Man, your Mom is so heart warming and endearing. Thanks for sharing her with us along with the recipes! Love them!
I laughed when I saw the title of this video! I’m a gringo who lived in South Texas for 22+ years. My “adopted” Hispanic mom made the BEST enchiladas and I had eaten enchiladas all over Texas. When I finally talked her into teaching me how to make them, they were almost the exact same recipe as your mom’s! The only difference was in addition to the cheddar cheese, she added a little bit of grated Velveeta! She would freeze the Velveeta before she grated it (this was in the ‘80s before they sold bags of grated Velveeta in the stores.) Her family had lived in the Rio Grande Valley since way before Texas became Texas and I thought I was going to get this secret recipe of Mexico for enchiladas. I still make them now almost 40 years later and they’re still my favorite!
Wolf chili and velveta cheese makes the best "texmex" enchiladas and I'm a south Texan😂😂😂
Your Mom is so adorable 🥰
NO MATTER WHAT, food made by your mother is ALWAYS 1,000,000% better than ANYTHING that anyone else can make. i know that i will NEVER out cook my mom no matter how good i am in the kitchen cause i learned everything from her.
That's some delicious looking enchiladas there! Always enjoy seeing your mom.
Every time there is a mom recipe, you know its going to be good. Once I heard you say you were going to use a sauce from scratch, I already new you were the winner. I am sure moms recipe is just as good, but I am old school and the only reason I will make a recipe out of a can (which I call a Rachael Ray"s fast meal) is when i am feeling lazy. I will use Las Palmas sauce or El Pato sauce. Top it off with queso fresco, queso cotija. As you say, which ever way you make it , it will turn out to taste great. Thanks for sharing. I will have to see if I can find and taste that wolfy chili, here in California.
I also use Las Palmas, haven't tried using El Pato, I use that for chili.
I used wolf brand chili once just on a whim, but I mixed it with some red Chile sauce. It was so good! 😋
What a great idea, we must try that, tnx
when you say red chile sauce do you mean enchilladas sauce/
Looks delicious! Mom and son in the kitchen together is wonderful!!😎
Watching momma and you in the kitchen makes me happy 😊 I am excited to make chile sauce and enchiladas now!
Love the mom son relationship.
I remember my grandmother given me the recipe for enchiladas with the wolf chili over 50 years ago. Thank you for reminding me. I'll be given and showing my granddaughters how to make enchiladas with the wolf and red sauce.
Oh I want to watch your video again and learn to make both of your enchilada dinners thank you 🙏 🥰
Love your videos and recipes! Reminds me a lot of the food back home in RGV. Thank you and don’t ever stop cooking!!!
Arnie Tex you are an amazing dude! I have been following your videos making a bunch of different delicious home style recipes and appreciate the effort you put into creating amazing easy to follow videos! Also I LOVE your mama and her insight on all these amazing foods!!!
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey Arnie, this gave me a couple ideas. My mom used to make enchiladas with onions too, and I discovered if you soak the onions for 10 minutes and rinse them out, it takes away a lot of the unpleasant bite raw onions have. Also, I think if you covered the pan with foil and then uncover them for a few minutes at the end, you can get the best of both worlds in regards to softness and color.
I've never made an authentic Tex-Mex dish, but then again I didn't know how easy it was in this video shows that thanks for the video we're definitely going to try this in my family
You are so welcome!
The foil tent is something I’ve never heard of but I have to try! Those both looked so good my mouth was watering!
My grandmother does the wolf style, it’s actually pretty good for those wondering.
When I see Arnie's mom, I know it's a must watch!
Your mama is making me miss mine . . she also reminds me of my aunt Beatrice - I'm so happy you get to cook with your mom. I would have given anything for my mom to be able to cook with me and my son in the kitchen just once. Your mom is an angel!
It’s a great learning experience and a pleasure watching y’all!
I love to see mom & son cooking together 🥰
I just found your channel, and I love the way you cook. I also love how often you have your mom on.
So beautiful that you include your mum! Very very special to me! Love your show making all salsas and make some of salsas to entertain in my home
Thank you so much for all spices 😊
Love you from the heart as a chef 👩🍳 myself
I like your show more and more every time I watch it! Love how y’all tease each other.
You cant beat momma. I also learned the wolf style enchiladas from my mom.😊 Her recipe is a little different but just as good.
Your mom reminds me of my mom. Treasure all the moments you possible can. Thank you for this video….There is nothing better than Tex Mex!
My mom always made the Wolf brand chili cheese enchiladas and I made them for my kids. We love them.
I made the Wolf chili one's but added ground beef. They were delicious and easy 😋 !!!!❤
Both look great! I've never tried using wolf brand chili on enchiladas. I'll have to do that the next time I make some. Thank you for sharing with us!
Cherish the moments cooking with your Mom!! I sure miss cooking with my mother!!
Yessss! You and your Mom are the best!! The red chili sauce turned out terrific and the enchiladas UMMMMUMMM!!
Come on Arnie, you should know that mama is always right! Lol
Those enchiladas look delicious. I use both ground beef AND Wolf Brand chili, kudos to your Mom!!
Love seeing la jefa on the videos bro. Dile que ima try the wolf enchiladas really soon!!! Thanks!!! ❤️🔥
This was so amazing, I couldn’t get over how easy and bonus, I found Wolfe brand! Seriously, thank you 😊I also stuffed a few with smoked pulled pork
Thank you so much for sharing all of these wonderful recipes. Good stuff bud.
I've made them with wolf brand chili for years... quick and delicious...
I woulda never thought to use Wolf Brand for enchiladas. I'm intrigued, gonna have to give your Mom's recipe a try. Love your content.
I love this channel not only does the food look amazing, the content is wholesome and something I didn't know needed thru out my day I love mom, she adds that good ole family feel to the show
Glad you enjoy it!
I could eat Wolf chili straight out of the can! I love it when your mom is in the kitchen with you. Cherish those memories.
My ex use to make killer rabbit enchiladas. It's a interesting process. Kinda freaky at first, pretty good though.
Both my parents grew up in NM so I grew up eating the red enchiladas stacked flat with the fried egg on top that she mentioned. It’s soooo good!
Can't go wrong, I'll try 2 of each
I'm from south Texas, currently living in Iowa, and my mom would make them like this and she would use sliced cheese. Kraft. They were so good! She would also make them in the traditional way when she had time.
I've never even thought of putting chili on enchiladas, but I haven't had a bad recipe from you. Will try both. Thank you Arnie and mom!
LOVE seeing your mama☺
I’m a new sub. I found you when I was looking for a good enchilada recipe using red sauce. I never even thought of using Wolf Brand Chili! Your recipe looks delicious too. I think I’m going to try using your beef recipe and add it to a can of Wolf Brand Chili. The best of both worlds???? I’ll definitely be tenting mine. 😊
Arnie, I grew up on the style you make and love them, but I gotta go with your Mama’s- love Tejanos and love your Mama!❤
Wolf chili enchiladas! I have never met anyone else that ate that kind. My mom made those all the time. 😊 so glad I found this video.
I grew up in Texas, so I love Tex-Mex cooking! Both your enchiladas look wonderful! Wolf brand chili is the best canned chili as far as I'm concerned. 😋 Thanks for sharing your mom with us and for all your wonderful recipes. ❤
You honor you beautiful mom and that’s a rare thing these days. I love Wolf chili enchiladas! They are so good. But I love traditional enchiladas as well. Enjoyed your video!
Thanks so much
Oh my goodness. I have never found anybody that makes enchiladas like I do. I'm a fifth generation Texan and make enchiladas just like your mama including the wolf brand chili on top and Colby jack cheese inside.
is it the wolf chili with beans or without
Both recipes look tasty. Thank you for sharing. Mom’s recipe is more fitting to my hurry up cooking style. And Wolf is a staple in my cupboards. That’s right, alway listen to Mom!
Those both look great. Your mom is the best! Looks like you both had fun making these.
My mother always made cheese enchiladas with wolf brand chili so now I do. You are the first I have seen do it this way. Love it!! We also put extra onions on top with the cheese. I’ve never seen enchiladas in a restaurant with chili on them and I really don’t like red sauce. I’m going with your mom for the win!! We are from the Lubbock area and there is a lot of great Mexican food here but nothing topped mom’s enchiladas.
Thanks for watching
Your beef enchiladas, with your moms wolf chili on top... Magical!
they both look delicious!😋 my mom made enchiladas with wolf brand chili too ... brings back wonderful memories!
I added a pinch of salt, garlic powder, cumin and a pinch of chili powder and a cup of water. To the wolf chilli they came out so good 😋😋
Thank you for your videos. I'm not much of a cook, but this looks so easy to make that I will give it a shot.
Looks so damn good! 😂 much respect from Oregon
your blessed to have her around brother, cherish every moment ❤️ 🙏
I have to give the win to mama. Her enchilada looked like it was covered in smooth liquid gold lava! Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm good! But Arnie, POINTS to you for adding meat AND cheese inside your enchilada! I cook up some ground beef on the side just like the way you do but also use the Wolf on top. You get 2 contrasting tastes and the best of both worlds! Keep up the great work!
I just made your moms style of enchiladas they came out great never had this style before thanks for sharing👍🏼
Wonderful!
I made your mom's recipe tonight and it was a hit! Thanks!
Mama always has the best grub
Love your vids man, keep it up!
I just love you Mom on these videos! Both look really good, but I vote for Mom's!
This is exactly how my mother in law taught me to make them using wolf brand chili about 30 years ago. She's from the Robstown area. I stack them sometimes because it's faster than rolling them. I love them...and they taste even better the next day.
I really like your videos, but I really enjoy when you have your Mom on here. If I could I'd give you two thumbs up!!
I always make them with the traditional sauce like Arnie, have to try it the other way some time. Arnie, if you dip the tortillas in the hot oil like your mom does and then dip them into the sauce right before you fill and roll them they’re not as likely to tear apart. It was a trial and error thing for me LOL
I'm 55 and I'm a 6th Generation Texan. Your TexMex is so amazing and spot on! I love the Wolf Enchiladas for a very quick meal. However, I really love the way you make them for huge family gatherings. I'm so glad I found your channel! The love you have for each other is refreshing❤! Are the Pitmaster spices available in grocery stores? *(I'm in East Texas)!
You can get them at pitmaster.us
Those both look awesome!! I have to try this!!
Awesome experience to make a video with your mom!! 👍🏽
I’m a new subscriber & I LOVE this channel!! So wholesome!
Awesome video both looked amazing BUT im going with mom . I loved the video because it also reminded me of when I would cook with my mom and she passed away last year in may at 72. More videos with mom ❤
🙏
such a fun video! thanks for the tutorial too!
Exxcellent!
With Dos XX
I am from Texas living in China for the last 5 years. Unable to go home due to COVID restrictions that canceled air travel. I made mom's enchiladas yesterday and they were so delicious. I am unable to find Wolf brand chili here (there's a hole in the market), but I used a different brand. Same with tortillas so hard to find, but I managed. Gracias a tu mami tan linda!
your mom is awesome! love the content!😁
Love y’all!! Thank u
Those both looked wonderful. I'm dying for good mexican food
I caught that 😆 🤣
Awwwww que bendición poder tener viva a la mama!! Disfruten mucho gracias por compartir con nosotros!
I use wolf brand too at times. Sometimes I add mom's salsa to it.
@HitArnieTex sorry I do not have any of that.
Good stuff Arnie and Mama! Always using your salsa recipes and the flippity-flip technique for grilling. Smoked some chx drums for MLK day w/ WOW and they came out terrific.
Looks awesome.. thank you for the video Arnie Tex and Mom
I gotta try this!!! I love Tex mex food!!! 🙌🙌🙌 You just took my cooking to another level!! 💜 Thank you for sharing!!
I love this and the wolf chili enchiladas was my favorite growing up, that's how my mom always made them (TEX MEX) and they are delicious but yours look soooo good too! I don't discriminate ever!! YUMMMMY!
great video Arnie! thank you
Grew up 30 minutes from Pecos! Nothing beats a red Chile beef enchilada.
hola, Arnie, mi mamá también hizo sus enchiladas con Wolf Chili
I love chili. All kinds of chili, even Wendy's chili. I discovered Wolfe brand chili when we got some in our Seattle Dollar Tree store. Now if I find it at Walmart I buy 5 cans at a time. Dennison is still my favorite with Nalleys a close second. Happy to see someone else use chili in their enchiladas
Sounds great!
Whoa! Learned something new today. Our family only use Wolf Chili without beans and I will be trying this recipe. TY
@arnietex my grandfather did his enchiladas the same way as your mom. My mom and I have both done it the same way and taught people our way..
I have recently started making my own chilli sauce. One suggestion I would make is to do the tortillas in oil then put a thin layer of chilli sauce on the bottom of the pan and after placing the enchiladas, put some sauce on top with cheese and or onion. It makes rolling them much easier.
Great mom and great son. You two are an inspiration to the world! 😂😢😅
