I'm so happy to hear of the kindness of the police in Dallas. How is this even possible? I'd love to see an interview with those police and their chief... sharing experience strength and hope. What inspires these cops to do what's right..and how is it legal for them to do so, with mandatory sweeps and harsh unfair laws, criminalizing homeless people, etc.

    • @williamryan7403

Not in Austin where Real Estate interests work with the Mayor and city council with the police to go after Houseless people.Same thing in California, If you are White or Black and look down and out they will harass you to no end and the people will judge you how you look and call police on you for walking down the street.I have a home and work and I have learned to not even wear casual clothes into a grocery store or I will get followed or have security called on me that's how bad it is out here. Not a free country anymore.

    • @koolkitties8552

LaughingblueSu Yeah what happened to free speech? This is getting really sad now. Instead of harassing these people they should be helping them . Prisononers get treated better than the homeless. Makes me so angry. No one in America should be homeless. It's a disgrace to our gov't and rich who don't give a shot about anyone but themselves.

    • @ThatHungryAfricanChild

Because its solicitation. Shes obviously doing it for money, most homeless people will tell you they are hungry but theres government assistance for that. They are buying drugs alcohol and cigarettes with your money. Homeless are liars and will give you the saddest bs to trick you into helping them because they are too lazy to do it themselves...

People do this, and then regret it severely later on. My friend's mom (who isn't very smart), felt sorry for a homeless woman outside of a store. The homeless woman told her all types of wild tales about how she became homeless to make my friends mom feel sorry for her. She ended up giving the woman ~$2500 worth of supplies, clothes, money, and invited her and her children to stay with them at her home for a while.
My friend found out through investigating online, that this woman had been cheating people out of money all over the place, and had a gofundme page from months prior with a completely different story on it.
I'm not saying all homeless people are like this, but I'm willing that if you offered them a place to stay they would be leeching off you for months if not years to come without making a true effort to get a job or pay you back.

Austin seems the problem of why they have homeless. It is only logical to help the people not get homeless, and never it is logical to earn on this, it is exploitation, and with consciousness...so it is a criminal police and court. Power abuse, and human trafficking, as they let the people fall into the trap...and not having the correct way of solving, they create with dark triad behavior the worse outcome... That's is inhumane. Also, everyone must be treated equally, so there is no difference in this treatment allowed per city, and also not allowed to create this worse for all... it has to be the best for all... So, these people in Austin need a lot of help and study to become normal, and best for people, that is what jobs are for.

While watching her stories , she seemed to have cared about some people who could have the same situation like her , while trying to talking about the things that she got to understand by experiencing it. I mean she have talked about the mood and the mistreatment in some places with the contrasts , still talking about her situation positively, talking that she could be fine in some places. ( but she could have some troubles even in those places)
Her time to explain her situation seemed to have finished as she just have thought about explaining the things that people could going through .
If I am to write about the treatment that she should have at that time then, it would be something like this.
Firstly, she should be in a safe place but she have said she slept on the the bench. Even she is dealing with the officers who are trying to charge some tickets for some reasons. I mean at least they might have to give her some information about shelters to stay safe rather than trying to charge those tickets. They also had to ask her problems and would have to give some information about social security systems which can help her to find better shelters before she could finally got to have her own place with some programs that could afford her a job.

As far as housing goes she's absolutely correct this is not just a housing problem this is also a drug problem there's not enough resources in Austin and if you have a criminal history nobody will rent to you nobody so you'll be living in the back of your van for the rest of your life and the sooner you accept your fate the better off you'll be just like me I live in my van with two small dogs and I am as sober as the Pope and my life hurts like hell I can't accept my fate I refuse to even address it because I think it is to much for me

She is telling the truth..I was homeless 2 years ago in Ms and living in a shelter. There's so many out there to use and abuse the homeless. Those making money off the pain of other's. But I'm thankful I chose to go to a revival at a Pentecostal Church of my youth. I received the holyghost and God set me free. Now today I'm married have a home family and job.I also I'm in youth ministry and do outreach every week for at risk children. I can't thank my lord and savour enough for what his done for me. My prayer is always for the addict on the street or just in tangled in sin. God bless those that reach out to help the poor and hungry. Jesus said if you done it to the least of one of his it was done to him. Love cover a multitude of sins

I wasn't from a rich family, but made right choices in my life and now i live a comfortable life at 88. It is very difficult for me to understand how and why people are homeless. I am an atheist and I depend only on myself for my well being. Humans are very complex animals.

Use the address of a relative or friend when applying to a job. Worry about the W2 next year. Even if it gets sent somewhere where you can’t retrieve it a year later, you can always request a new W2 from the company at a later time. It’s more important to find work and make money right now than to worry about a missing W2 you won’t get til a year from now. I believe this woman could find work anywhere. She looks very attractive and presentable. If I walked past her I would never think she was homeless. Also, if you are homeless and you have some form of identification, you can go to your local post office to get a free PO Box. Then you can use the PO Box as your address when applying for work.

    Poor soul. She sounds intelligent.
If i was the judge, i would fine the city hall, fine the police and order the city hall to give her a job. Morality is first, being human is first, the law is secondary. People there are squre and selfish and cruel.
If a homeless woman ask me for a job, she is my first priority , i write down my personal address as her's.
If i had the privilege to help a homeless woman, i would do it , even on my expense. This woman is in need, she is not a junki/drug abuser.
A society that turn a cold shoulder on needy people, is nothing but a pack of wolves.

Pretty harsh. Most cities have food pantries and churches also. There are soup kitchens. When the cops see this it would be appropriate to direct these people where they can get help. I do believe there should be a sense of order, but human needs should be addressed too.

In Canada, people get arrested in the winter so that they can get three meals a day and sleep in a warm jail cell. It beats freezing outside... I’ve heard those stories going back 40 years to when I was a little kid. My mother was a jail nurse.

    • @intellectualrebel5340
      @intellectualrebel5340 2 года назад

@@emmaleechase613Similar happens in Europe. In the coldest parts of winter, people used to throw rocks in store windows to get arrested and go to jail for some days. But then the punishment was changed from jail to fine/community service, so this doesn't work anymore.

I mean, is their no outreach program to help her? Are their not systems to help her get back on her feet? Why not use those systems. They recently legalized panhandling in my city, we saw a 200 fold increase in homeless people after that. On every offramp from the freeway, now there’s a homeless person. Well, I’m guessing homeless, because nothing prevents anyone from panhandling if they need to or not. Second chance, yeah, third chance? Starting to push it. 4th 5th 6th and more chances? Really need to start questioning how these chances are doing them any good at all. Just like the banks that got bailed out because they were “too big to fail” sometimes people need to hit rock bottom to make meaningful changes in their life, otherwise with no ramifications and consequences for decisions made, what’s to prevent someone from doing it again?

her story is nothing, in 2013 Austin put a homeless camp in east Austin directly adjacent to a residential community. the city of Austin lied and called it sunshine RV park. they had no intentions of informing the home owners, when this lie was exposed they did it anyway. now this residential community is no longer the same, crime has gone way up. she is telling a twisted slanted story, she never says anything about the crime innocent citizens are suffering from, she never says anything about the failures of the non profits that are not held accountable for there businesses. she says nothing about the loss of life as a result of these people here and the pain there victims families are still enduring today. true we as community should help people in need, but there are no boundries considered to protect innocent working people. these are the ones that are the biggest victims innocent citizens and businesses.

If you are homeless or about to be and you don't have a physical address, you can use anytimemailbox to have your mail delivered to a physical address. The home is signed up as an affiliate partner to the anytimemailbox. I haven't used the service, and can't recommend it, but after searching online for options in this situation, this is what I found.
