Yeah, he's never actually been against LGBTQI+ people, but I will admit some of the words he said weren't good but at the time it was something you said to anyone not specifically lgbtq+ people. Nowadays he's matured a lot, he's admitted that what he said was wrong and he's come a long way, close friends with Elton John to this day, he has lesbian artists featured on his songs Young MA was one, that chick from Detroit another. For the record freedom of speech means the freedom from the government persecuting you for what you said. But also freedom of speech isn’t under attack🙄🙄🙄 Eminem (and most people) used to use the word f**got in their raps or as an insult. But we collectively have decided that’s not acceptable anymore. But technically speaking you’re absolutely still free to say it because it’s not illegal. If you’re free to say it then someone is equally free to criticize you for it. And if you keep saying it that’s up to you. But the government hasn’t said you can’t.

People don't cringe up and hide when rappers openly use the N word, however some people would comment that its not socially acceptable to do so.
It's the times were in now that everything is censored, I personally think self expression in any art form should be acceptable no matter what you say. If you don't like it, don't listen to it.

Slim Shady is a persona of his. It's more the "insane daring dark" personality. Em, eminem, and kim are all people/personas that are considered pretty crazy and he's saying shady is more insane than all of them combined. If I recall he used to wear a prison jumpsuit for his Slim Shady personas.

I had heard eminem prior to his blowing up thru some underground sources I had at that time. when his first LP dropped, i bought that right then. One song from that era that caught my ear was the song Mushrooms (my fault). the picture painted by his words in that track is just so comically vivid and situationally clear. It is one of his best "early classics" from that time period. Dre had a lot on his plate when eminem first got on wit him. he had king tee, the aftermath roster, and especially Xhibit - who was up and coming from the Alcoholiks moving into the solo stratosphere. both artists were blowing up, but it was that song that put eminem into that slightly more appealing area that was not so centered on the normalized gansta rap ethos. X was rough and rugged, his persona was that he has been thru the shit and is still holding it down. Mushrooms gave M a more humanistic failings tinge to the perception of him being that battle rap type of hype that would slay with his words being so slick and sneaky as to inject the venom on the first bar and go off then slap you on the neck to activate it and bring the battle to a place where there is no chance to come back from.

If it helps, the "Dagger with a Jagged Edge" line its a homage to the band Jagged Edge, an R&B group. And Eminem has a non binary son, Stevie. Plus on the song "The real sllim Shady" he was advocating for same sex marriage way before it was legal on the US. I agree that his uses of the F slur is excessive, but saying he's either a racist or a real homophobic person is just being ignorant. (Not saying that you were saying it)
