Thanks for posting. Exactly what I've been working on (ground pressure). My back foot lifts in the down swing as the hips "do too much" but the biggest thing I've noticed is quieter hands with pressure into the ground.

this is a good video, you can see my back foot is grounded in Transition, like a squat, notice my hips dont do a lot, because they are just resetting waiting for the hands, arms and club to get down and sync up, then I can use the ground more effectively because I am pushing more pressure down into the ground to twist my hips, and increase the speed with efficiently, thanks

Thanks for posting this. First of all thank you for all the work you did on the flail equipment attached to the wall that to me explained the science of “ pull “ better that anything I’d seen before. This is in keeping with the science of the flail and your advice to maintain the pull makes a great deal of sense as this delays the full release to beyond impact.
This is were I see Pete Cowens pressure advice seems to be in conflict with the pull. I see a pull as along the shaft ( as if pulling the grip off) but applying pressure to the shaft ( as if bending it on the ball) these forces are in entirely different planes. Do we do both ? Hope you will do your own video in this as I’m curious to see these two principles resolved.

We apply pressure into the ground with our body (lowering hips / pelvis like a squat) so Pete does not mean applying pressure to the shaft. The golf swing is simply about equalising all the forces going on in the swing, balancing them out and not fighting them or trying to overpower them, we can harness them instead which is the key 🗝
Once you learn to harness the forces using the GForce Swing Trainer for "TIMING, TRANSITION, FEEL & CLUBHEAD AWARNESS" and staying out of your own way you then unlock a pure natural consistent swing.
This "Balance Point" video is a good one below talking about the lowering concept and why it is required in everybody's swing. Also I talk about a swing in the park relating it to the golf swing especially the Transition.
When you sit in the swing you feel your butt pushing / pressuring the seat when you swing down, I suppose if you imagine a smaller you sitting on the top line of the clubhead you would feel the same force, maybe that is what Pete is describing..? If your swing was inefficient you would not experience this force.
I like that analogy of pulling the grip off the shaft, I will use that at some point thank you :-) Also will be doing some follow up videos soon on theses concepts, thanks

      This is great stuff.
As far as the pressure goes, I understand Pete as meaning to maintain the pressure with the shoulders and arms, resulting in pressure into the club compressing the ball. I saw on one of his videos he describes the swing as a “body movement”, this movement moving through the ball, not swinging “at it”. That’s my take.

It is impossible for the skeleton to move without the action of muscles.
That being said, if a muscle is not truly active/functional, the force of gravity could cause compression and move the skeleton in that sense 🤔

    • @gforcegolf
      @gforcegolf 2 года назад +2

totally agree on your reply, great question on the force of gravity :-) So in transition the arms accelerate down quickly as you can see Stenson demonstrating, if you try that or use my Football Drill & Split Hand Drill in the video links at the bottom of this reply, you will feel the "PRESSURE" going down through your legs activating your legs muscles, that must be the muscle compression you talk about? because I can feel them activate like when doing a squat, so then my skeleton (hips in the golf swing) will move easier, whats your thoughts?
Most golfers and golf instruction is geared towards trying to move / turn their lower body first in transition (hips) without any lowering or force / compression applied to their leg muscles, also the club has a long way down to travel so they can never sync up the arms and body together, its impossible because the body then gets to far ahead of the arms and club.
I guess it will be a tough journey ahead trying to convince everyone golfers and coaches (not all, but the vast majority) that the downswing starts by not trying to turn the hips, but instead lowering the hips / squatting and getting the Hands, Arms & Club straight down quickly, which forces more pressure down through your legs into the ground so you can twist your hips easier to speed up the club once the Hands, Arms & Club have got down to match up with the body rotation, thanks for your input :-)

@@gforcegolf Thanks for the detailed reply and links. I have only started looking at your channel recently but it makes a lot of sense, particularly, when I really struggle to eliminate the hands over the top in my swing!
I know a bit about biomechanics as it relates to injury recovery/prevention and performace and I think golf, in general, still view that side of things with too much of a linear mindset...obviously, not including you here, I see the opposite.
So, when I look at what you demonstrate, especially with the transition, I am still trying to get my head around that lateral motion to the left to initiate the hands/arms moving....I would call that closed chain ADDuction on the left leg, which is not exactly squat mechanics!
But I do get the fact you are trying to eliminate the early rotation and allow the body to unify to be most efficient through impact.
I have more studying to do here as I dont like wasting people's time without really getting into the material first.
