Real bout special Fatal Fury also includes the ability to test internal sound effects, and likewise, it is possible to set additional SE B tone settings by modifying the attribute by playing it then setting it to a different pitch on the second frame to achieve additional tonesets.
It's a shame that most game developers just included a shitty border and palette then called it a day. There is so much potential to use additional SNES hardware functions including custom code in Game Boy games.
Hi Matt, I've just started messing around with gb studio and was curious how to implement sound effects into my game. These sound effects are awesome!!!! How would I find these effects? Do you know if it works in gb studio? Thank you for the inspiration!
I'd be curious to know if anyone's identified which licensed games used which stock sounds. Did Adventures of Lolo use one of the applauses? Did Kirby's Dream Land 2 use any of the windstorms?

Sounds so good, love it!

I'm writing my own game to utilise such effects. I started reverse-engineering the SGB over a decade ago and left all of my notes on my blog.
desert strike used some of the missile sound effects
I remember some of these sfx. 🙂

I don't really know much about GB studio sorry. I would join the gbdev discord and ask there. I'm sure they can help.
@@MattHughson no worries! Appreciate the reply. I'll definitely be joining that discord!
Pretty cool!
Do any of these sound effects use the SNES sound hardware?
I'm pretty sure all of them do.
