- Just Another Boring FISHING Video?
I told my wife I was having trouble giving this video a title. She chipped in with this one! She's always right of course.
The video does however include a few decent fish being caught, a new and extremely fast way to rig live bait, and what was generally a pretty good day of fishing offshore. Not all days are going to be record catches, in fact on some days we have donuts.
I did start producing videos primarily for myself as a way to combine hobbies of photography, video, editing and fishing. After 130 plus videos, I am a realist that only the serious jetski fishos watch the videos, and most of these only watch an average of 6 minutes! It's not a full time job for me, and that probably shows too. But I'm enjoying every minute of the hobbies.
So how else can I describe my video? I don't have any young things dressed in g-strings flaunting generous assets on the ski to use that I can photograph for my thumbnails. I am sure that would certainly help, but I think divorce would follow the success!
So I'll just stick to doing what I do and when I can. You loyal people deserve an award if you've stuck by the channel and a medal if you've watched them all! :)

I’ve been meaning to ask you this for a while; when you’re driving the ski quickly is there a speed above which your sounder screen just shows garbage because the sensor can’t keep up?
A couple of years ago when I had a waverunner I had a sensor installed on the mounting bracket for the rear drop down step.
Trouble was, any faster than 5 knots and the sounder screen was all pixellated and useless.
The guy who installed it told me that was par for the course.
Anyway with that and a few other “upgrades” I got pretty jaded and finished up selling the ski at a loss.
Watching you and your escapades makes me feel like having another go.
This time I’d use the same guys that fit those pods on for you!
Thanks Brad. If the transducer is properly positioned you get very good readings up until around 10knots and then you still see the bottom but the detail is sometimes lost. You can read the depth at speed at all times. I have a custom bracket made by the local team. If you need a photo of how it’s mounted, email me.

I was waiting for this vid, thanks. When you dropped the live bait, did you see amberjack or just a bait ball?
Hi Steve, mostly lots of bait but I sometimes see feint lines up in the water column. Some species of fish don’t show much, especially the ones with small swim bladders (like AJs). But I’m hoping to see action on top the bait ball if it’s close to the bottom, or look for a bigger fish under. I think anytime there’s bait there’ll be something bigger in the vicinity. Whether they will bite is another matter!
