Better grading, better pricing, better customer service, amazing turn around time, and the slabs look great being black. Really makes the cards look nice! I would recommend SGC to everyone!
Same. PSA has been so hit or miss for me right now, and when they miss it's bad. Honestly I am not resubmitting back to PSA because I don't trust them. I been using SGC and have had great experiences so far, and will continue to use them. Just great all around and no stupid up charges and auto charges, what's not to like. Also I think for harder to find (numbered/colored) prices are on par with PSA, everything else is not. I'm not complaining I would buy a SGC 10 over a PSA 10 if someone were charging more than double for it.

It's crazy how much less they sell now, and how irrelevant in ultra modern they are.
Team Peel! Awesome order. Seems like your previous order was done by either a new grader or one that wasn’t experienced with the decal edges. They are hiring like crazy for graders so it unfortunately makes since that an order that needs more experience could slip through and be assigned to a newbie.
Breach of contract for PSA, a good legal team would eat these pukes for breakfast. Newbie graders aren't the submitter's problem, they are the legal reason you would NOT have to pay for "professional" grading. Average Joe takes loss after loss.....
Daaaaaaangggggg man! You absolutely killed this order! Congrats to you. Love the videos so keep them coming. Hoping to post a couple videos soon as well.
No one holds PSA accountable for their inconsistent grades, so this is why we have to suffer on paying for these to be graded correctly several times. I think until people start speaking out, this will continue to happen. If you want your cards to be graded correctly the first time and consistent, SGC is the way to go(and no I m not a SGC fanboy). Its just the truth.
Been saying this for awhile, there is a dart board they use at PSA, and which ever number the dart lands, its the grade you get for your card(s). Problem is PSA knows they are the top dog in the industry, and they dont really give a F on what everyone thinks because people will continue to come back to PSA to pay double or triple to get the correct grade. 🤦♂🤦♂😢😢
I had an experience that my grader hated Lonzo Ball. It can be so inconsistent and sometimes I got a great grader who gave me tons of tens…. Thanks for sharing your experience!!!!❤❤❤
I think the PSA lunacy comes down to ineffective quality control. I’m pretty firm on the belief that most if not all of their “QC” related steps are completely made up and something to hide behind for their piss turnaround time. Thank you for shedding light on how bad they are at grading on any given day.
I believe it is more than that. PSA stated during the pandemic that they were stopping taking cards for grading and were over 2 million submissions behind. They over doubled their pricing to help the backlog and their financials. The QC issues exist at all graders that I have used, inconsistent and no explanation for it. I currently have a full set of 1986 Fleer Basketball, MJ is already graded as a 9 as is the sticker, that I want graded. I also have the 1961 Fleer BB set that I want to have finished. I have 2 of the 66 cards graded, both came back as 7's and I believe the Jerry West and Oscar Robertson cards will grade as 9's and the West looks like a possible 10 - which do not exist. I would love to have an alternative to PSA to send these too but I don't want to devalue the submission and since these will likely go to a big name auction house, they mainly want PSA. I'd appreciate any feedback.
Psa on the website says you’re paying for their opinion. They have well over 100 graders now so over 100 opinions. Noticed the same with SGC adding more graders. But not nearly as extreme as psa.
Got into the hobby not to long ago but really scared to grade anything. I see so many videos on the inconsistency of most of these grading companies and $20 minimum a card just seems nuts to me. Idk how it fully works but it would seems nuts to me to not have any internal review at companies like PSA for someone else to say, "Wait hold up that's not a 5, thats an 8." If you're paying that much per card, it should be included.
One option is to collect raw! Nothing wrong with it at all. Much more budget friendly. If you start stepping up to some larger $ amount cards, you could start considering grading to protect them for the long haul. I have many friends who don’t grade anything and obviously love their collections. Part of the reason I like mine slabbed is for authenticity because some of the niche sets I collect (like 1999 finest shown in this video) can have faked/backdoor copies, but you don’t have to worry about that for most sets. - Thanks for checking out the video, and hope you find a fun niche you enjoy in the hobby!

Grading is a scam, IMO. Videos like this prove the point. Also why do they upcharge for cards that grade high? Value is for insurance purposes only, it is cardboard not gold bars. True value of any card is only what someone is willing to pay you for it, you cannot eat cards or defend your family with them. Junk slab era folks. Take a moment and ask....why are we paying and waiting to get a plastic case with nomenclature that WE had to enter on it. Seriously it is a total joke. Great video!!
@@soxlife6782 I understand that now, but I still wonder if they make any coin on that since they decide what the card is now worth with its unexpectedly high grade. The card he got upcharged on makes sense, he said he removed the film they were grading the card as aw hole based on the film being on it so it got the low grade. The film was removed and he was given a 10. If i had to guess he valued the card based on it getting the low grade from his first submission. He essentially resubmitted a different card. can you go over your process when it comes to peeling? peeling cards that are ~25+ years old can be quite risky. As for the PSA 5's, the previous grader probably saw something they thought to be a wrinkle. Heck, the wrinkle may still be there, and the second grader missed it. i really dont like how wildly different Topps did the NFL Chrome numbering vs their MLB Chrome numbering. Black Refractors in NFL tend to be /299 where MLB is /100 ive recently started collecting a NFL retired player, and learning the different numbering is annoying haha
So 99 Finest is actually the only set I’ve ever done it with that I’m aware of. I haven’t had issues on it in terms of damaging the cards, but I’m sure other sets could be different. I actually thought the same thing about the wrinkle but looked EVERYWHERE and there just was nothing. That’s why it led to me thinking perhaps it was due to the edges for some reason. I think 7/8 was much more accurate. Completely agree on the black numbering! That is specifically why I don’t collect them, the inconsistencies drive me nuts.
