I live in an apartment complex in VA which recently switched over to "comfort height" toilets over the "standard height" they had before. They're now reversing their decision after multiple reports (including mine) of discomfort. I'm a 5'7'' man and my heels just barely graze the floor on a "comfort height". After a few minutes, the blood starts cutting off to my legs. Only the balls of my girlfriend's feet touch the ground when she uses it and she's 5'4". The height of the average American woman is 5'3''. Bottom line: the taller toilets are DEFINITELY for people taller than 5'7'' (and I can say that with authority lol) whereas the standard toilets are for all people.
