I had an red/taupe 08 RDX tech I purchased used in 2010. I added: - Hondata Reflash, Heatshield gasket, ETS Intercooler, & K/N drop in filter (around +280 hp/tq) - Eibach lowering springs with Progress RSB and RonJon Legacy 7 Liquid Graphite rims on 18" Conti DWS 06, painted the calipers black - front lip kit, rear diffuser, & OEM splash guards - 3M clear bra, window tint, roof rack, hidden hitch w/ 4-way harness, all weather mats, cargo mat - interior LED light upgrade and OSRAM cool blue 5000k-6000k HIDs Very fun car to drive and it drove better the harder you pushed it. The ELS sound system sounds fantastic if you can find DVD audio discs. Road noise can be very loud depending on speed and road surface. Handed it down to my daughter back in 2019 and she still drives it today with +200,000 miles.
😂 Make that turbo blow-off sound again!!?? Great video, bud... very straight to the point on a vehicle that I consider to a great value all around..thx🙏👍
It’s not easy to add performance mods to this actually due to the fact that a lot of company’s discontinued their parts, you’ve got a HOT air intake the true cold air intakes goes down to the bumper I’ve got a rdx aswell
Gotcha it cools it down a bit. I actually added a heat shield. With my scanner the Intake temps went down by 2 or 3 degrees from stock box. Also I cut some plastic at bottom and removed fog lights recently. I'm scared of the down low intake simply bc it rains alot where I Am. Friend of mine hydrolocked his motor with down low intake
I have an '09 RDX turbo with SH-AWD and 135,000 miles; replaced the starter last year. Runs like a dream. I put new brake pads on the front every 35k or so, rear's at 70k, do it myself for about $70. Free Mobile 1 oil changes for life from the dealership and I just did a tranny/differential flush for about $135 in fluids/washers. It's fast and reliable, I don't fuck with it; Acura knew what they were doing. Factory plugs, antifreeze, and serpentine belt; mechanic says "is there a problem? It's getting down to -60 this winter! I got new antifreeze. So? It's clean, it tests good. Don't fuck with it." Same antifreeze and belt it rolled off the factory floor with 13 years and 135,000 hard miles ago and it just fires right up and purrs along. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country tomorrow.
@@ThatStockG35 definitely been fun. I actually just took the drivers side Foglight out ran some flexible pipe from there into the bottom of my heat shield box I fabricated for the cold air intake. Just so much you can do with them.
@@JRideReviewsJCSR I believe there's the Hondata Flashpro you can pick up for $700. Plug in to your cars ob2 port, upload the ots map w/laptop and you're ready to go.
A comment on the blow-off valve. Thats a quick way to cause problems for the K23A1. Get a 50/50 Diverter Valve. Like a billet one to replace the plastic one. or buy a few turbo cartridges to keep on hand when you blow the turbo. I think the Turbo Cartridges are like $200 online
why or how would a blow of valve blow a turbo up... the lack of a bov could cause problems. but an open atmosphere vs reserc is not going to hurt the turbo....
@@lindseyhunt1090garageb bc the factory setup recirculates a significant amount of air back into the intake AFTER the MAF so it’s unmetered and causes stuttering and a lean condition which will cause knock and definitely hurt the motor. I own one and have researched this extensively.
I have a Turbosmart Adjustable BOV on mine for 2 years no issues at all. Also a intake. It flutters at low boost a bit but a full boost no noise other than a sweet swoosh.
My 07 rdx has 270k on it. I have put the bc coilovers on. I got a downpipe from Russia lol. And I have the kn intake. I'm waiting on getting wheels and hondata, bc she started burning oil..... I reall want my rdx to last lol so I'm scared to throw more power at it
Hondata Re-Flash on the first gen RDX is $350. If you find someone local to you that does Hondata, then you don't need to send in your ecu. I am in Orlando and Titan Motorsports and iShorty-Tech Engineering do 1st gen RDX Re-Flash for $350
Not 100 percent sure. Id recommend a Facebook group called Acura RDX owners stock or mod's Also check out Google and look up Acurazine. Its an all Acura Forum.
So I had a similar issue with mine, turns out the eye bolt was worn on the actuator, it’s a 20 dollar part but a decent amount of work but it was the key problem to my wastegate getting stuck open/ closed
Check the oil of course. They take Mobil 1 Full synthetic 5w30 only. The oil level and mileage are super important with these engines. Run premium only as far as gas. Check interior electronics I've had a few minor issues. Definitely make sure navigation reverse camera function. Also check cv axles. Fwd or awd depending on vehicle you buy. Make sure Turbo is boosting properly they are expensive but there is a part connected to them that can fail causing boost issues as well and most shops will say oh it's definitely the Turbo. Check out RUclips vids on that. Other than that these are great cars. I've had mine for 4 years and I drive drive it. Best wishes hmu with any other questions. J Ride thanks you for watching

How’d you convert from hids to leds?
Good friend of mine ordered LED bulbs plugged right into stock harness. Also did same for my Fog lights
Did ya sh-awd light ever come on after doin all that
needs an air to water intercooler and a water meth kit, then you can run the thing on regular unleaded.
