A fellow farmer with turned windrows would turn his windrows even more when they got too hot. We suggested he was just exacerbating his problem by adding more oxygen. I suppose it's not the best solution to suffocate the microbes to control heat but when adding water during turning to cool the pile isn't an option, we thought it was better than getting so hot we killed a lot of microbes off.
Thats an interesting concept indeed, I have heard of this before, but not a fan of the idea. I will cover this in the next video which hopefully is coming out next week.
