    How do you maintain uniformity of heat if its not turned? Is heat check every 24-72 hours? How do you monitor C:N ratio of starter material if everything going into one place?

      23:20 talks a bit on that specific pile size with his blower. His pile is already too tall to be perfect though, watch some Dr. David Johnson videos with CSU and others on static pile fungal compost you will see passive systems air

    Have you tried just pulling the pipe out of the pile. Even if you needed to add a strap to the outside end of the pipe, pulling would make it much easier to move the material. Should work, worth a try.

      At our facility we remove most of the compost to reduce the weight on the pipe then pull them out with a loader.

      We remove most material first---since we set up the pipes dry-fit, this allows us to remove all segments and prevent pipe breakage.

    How do you manage the leachate?

    • @reunityresources1232
      @reunityresources1232 2 года назад +1

      The least expensive option for leachate management is to design the composting facility in such a way that reduces and reuses all excess water, meaning that leachate treatment is only needed as a last resort. In order to prevent leachate production, the facility should be designed to separate rainfall and snowmelt from organic wastes and compost. Then, a proper mix of compost feedstocks should be used; this ideal mix of compost feedstocks includes neither using materials that are too wet nor adding to much water to the mixture. To reach this objective, the moisture content of the compost should never exceed 65% (Forgie et al. 2004).

      There should be no leachate. High temps drives the moisture out. The core/base will be dry.

      @@CriticalThinker27 Had nothing but a motorcycle for many years and helmets were not mandatory them. Still alive which must definitely prove that helmets are not effective. Masks, like helmets, provide protection. An analogy for face masks would be mufflers on cars and ear plugs. The muffler stops a lot of the noise from spreading. The earplugs further dampen the noise. Same with masks where the virus is spread by airborne droplets. The sick person sneezes and most of the droplets are caught or will not spread as far (muffled). A N95 mask will stop most of the droplets from reaching the healthy person. Just lowers the odds of getting sick. Some countries where masks were mandatory saw a 90% reduction in flu cases.
