Dana K. White is the best. Her concepts have helped me more than any others. You'll put in a few more steps, yes, but it creates no extra mess. Only progress!
I regret not taking photos too, having said that I was looking through old WhatsApp pics I’d sent to family before we redecorated and it’s shocking even just looking at before pictures from then and that was when we’d supposedly taken lots of stuff out the room! I’m in the maintenance phase of decluttering now. I’d never go back!❤
I love your explanation of the container concept! I hope you come out with more of these videos that are so clear. Also can you make one on the beauty and advantages of the no-mess decluttering concept?
I love the container concept as it really makes you think about what each item really means to you & re question whether you really want/need to keep it ❤️
Loved this! I’ve also read her books and I’ve heard Joshua Becker mention letting the container be the bad guy! Continuing to work on this but very difficult with a 6 month old baby 😂
I moved from a 3 bedroom house into a motor home, I have a decluttering bag constantly being filled and I have donated so many containers because I thought I needed them , when I put the motor home over the scales we were 300 kgs overweight, this helped me decluttering more the containers and a heavy drawer and 100 kgs went then, yesterday I got a new mattress and myself and my dog slept 12 hours straight and we decluttered another 20 kgs with the exchange.
❤ I am on the decluttering journey with you. This week I removed a hanging cloth clothing rack and a hanging cloth shoe rack. Realized after decluttering I didn’t even need those. Area is much better. And today I continued to remove more items from my home. Did some tidying and it feels so good. Thank you once again for all the videos and inspiration.
I have autism and adhd so i struggle w overstimulation from seeing everything but also out of sight out of mind forgetfulness. I need to have a specific location for things or i just cant find stuff or forget i even have it. Yesterday i bought a matched set of three lidded baskets on fb marketplace. Today i plan on designating and filling them. That way i know what i have and where to find it. Yay
Maybe using transparent containers and storing only containers in a specific closet. I keep my transparent containers in my hall closet and I labeled the items that are in the containers. 😉
This video is so good 👍 Yes, I've heard before about Dana K. White container concept but I didn't realise until your video how to use. And paired with the threshold idea makes so much sense. I'm guilty of decluttering and then bringing more and more containers or something to "improve" my storage spaces to fit in all the new stuff which keeps coming in (especially in kids room). But maintaining all of the inventory feels too much. I went far beyond my very low threshold. Seems like I'm always sacrificing my sanity for the sake of letting my loved ones keep absolutely everything they want even if they can't realistically handle it
♥ I never really understood what's so groundbreaking about the container concept. It just seems like common sense that a bin or closet or whatever can only hold so much. Erica Lucas did a helpful video on the 50% rule, where you try not to fill a space such as a kitchen cabinet beyond 50% full. Maybe 75% is a little more reasonable but the point is not to stuff storage bins and spaces 100% full.
Maybe not groundbreaking but I was someone who thought my problem in my home was not having enough containers so it was something I changed when I became more minimalist minded. I didn’t read her book until recently but it explained to me how I was going wrong for so long and for me, how minimalism helped me to rethink and correct those mistakes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 💕
I think that even the most simple ideas can be groundbreaking when they hit you at exactly the right time and finally sink in. That’s when you realize what works doesn’t work for you and move forward!

I decided to only use good quality wooden baskets. Nice video, thanks for sharing ❤
That sounds great 😍
Very true about breaking up sets. That's applicable for dishes, flatware, furniture, accessories, etc.
