Lol love the wife's reaction when she asks what I'm watching now. I replied "the concrete guy." She asked who? I said "this guy." She shook her head and walked away. Haha I do learn stuff but I have no practical use for it. So it's just stored knowledge. But I appreciate how you do your videos and keep em coming.

I’m a commercial concrete finisher in NY and you should grab a thin concrete finishing broom for the walk face and a brush for curb face. Much better in my opinion and keep the bristles wet, it will cut the concrete instead of pulling it and giving it the aggressive look you said you had. But nice work..I wish I could work with you and your crew

Surprised you did not put some color in the retaining walls/curbs. Some red in the side walks cut to look like pavers would complement the house. Of course, I am not paying for the job and that skews my observations toward expensive options. I think the overall design is great and I am interested in seeing how the owners finish the job up.

Dave, how long did you wait before pulling the forms in that 8 inch curb in this one?
I’m pouring a small retaining wall tomorrow that is to be the “box” for a garden bed.
46.5’ long x 5’ x 20” high with a 6” wall thickness. 2 yards ish. Noticed you were able to take the form off early enough to butter up the faces. I’d like to do the same.
Modeled my form after your monolithic pour retaining wall garden bed vid from about 2 years ago -the one with the cantilevered edge. I didn’t do the edge though. But other than that, one 2x12 form on bottom, one 2x10 on top with a little room for mushrooming at the bottom.
