I've got the JCB 86C-2 on hire for some "mucking about" on a farm next week and this has been an excellent little insight into the newer -2 and a great help to me. Thanks Mucker!
Good video Kurt drove one o the first 8 tonners when they came out an liked it 👍 but not on them anymore so enjoyed seein all the upgrades there's been 👍
Hi Kurt. Loved the HY-MAC reference. The JCB dealer here in Orlando recently changed hands again. I visited their yard earlier in the week, walked around and no one bothered to come out of the office to see if I was a potential customer! Three fitters working in the yard seemed to be miserable and it looked more like Ritchie Brothers Auction with broken down machines everywhere. JCB deserve better representation in my opinion, especially as we are only five hours from their Savannah Georgia southern HQ. As you say the 86C looks to be a versatile machine and the upgrades to the 86C-2 adds to its efficiency. Well built by the looks of it. 🏴🇺🇸
Nice smart, well designed machine that. I like how they have thought about the user, opening the bonnet to fuel up you can check your levels and filters etc at a quick glance.
Great intro/review. Looks a fantastic up to date easy to use machine. In that class I always loved the takeuchi tb175 always found them a well balanced powerful machine
Thanks for the info in this video. I’ve been wondering how they had got round no longer having the boom swing on a foot pedal. I currently run a 86c-1 TAB which has two pedals on the floor, one of boom swing and the other for the TAB. I also use both Aux rollers on the sticks for a NOX. So that bit of info about the proportional rollers in the front of the sticks is welcome news! And should make the whole operation easier, especially the TAB operation, as those -1 pedals are not the most comfortable to operate. Only thing that puts me off is the DPF......price of progress I suppose. Keep up the good work👍
Great review of JCB👍in last few years I demo farm equipment, tractors n earthmoving machinery, you get surprise on how better some of machinery is improved but I have had a couple of machinery I seen that I wouldn’t upgrade n not because fancy electrics but design layout.
Looks a good machine we still use our 1988 3cx on the farm and if we are draining we get a cat 308 hire from local company which is a good machine but have always liked jcb even though the 8080 looked a bit of a toy(hymac or spade would take hymac even with no windows)
Has Deano bought his dumper truck? Nice one mucker, Georgey boy and Bob the builder lol. They are building extra lane on to bypass by us and they are using 1050 just to lug a water bowser round lol
My friend Lord Muck, interesting machine, and a good review of same. A question came to mind while you were digging. Is there any danger of running into unexploded ordnance from WW2 when excavating in the UK? Best regards from Indiana, USA.
Yes Bill, especially if working on projects in the large cities. However, for obvious reasons the risk is greater over in mainland Europe, especially Germany.
Interesting video mate. My boss has about 8 jcb 85z's that are getting on in hours so he'll be replacing them soon. He's been loyal to jcb for 45 years so I'll probably get a chance to try out these newer models. I normally drive a 3CX but occasionally I get sent out on an 8t. We never really had any big issues with the old ones besides the head gaskets go at about 2500hours. Have they sorted out the over sensitive dozer blade control and the lack of dipper ram cushion? That's one thing that gets on my nerves, the dipper arm doesn't come in close enough for my liking and it stops short with a bang. I know a good operator shouldn't be using the full stroke of any of the rams but its easy to forget when you jump into a jcb from something else.
Just asked someone about it from Carnaby and son, jcb restored their old backhoe earlier this year, asked if he'd seen it before. Turns out when they replaced some of their old erf's the driver loved his old erf that much he said wouldn't anything unless it said erf on it. So jcb pulled the daf logos of and put them ones on just for him
@@pureneglect4702 that's partially true - it was done as a joke between the driver, fleet manager and Lord Bamford himself as they swore they would only run British ! (Driver himself told me 😉)
Ben has a family don't forget and CV19 has put added pressure on everyone. George and myself will continue to film machinery and equipment and we may also have a few guest appearances along the way...

Personally I think JCB North America are a piss poor set up.
Some dealers are brilliant but many seem to have little back up from Savannah.
Have no real life experience of using diggers but found this video really enjoyable and informative, thanks for sharing mate 👍
Nice smart, well designed machine that. I like how they have thought about the user, opening the bonnet to fuel up you can check your levels and filters etc at a quick glance.
Yes very well thought out and lots of consideration for the operator
Great view of the machine thanks
As always your Lordship, a well thought out and planned video, can’t wait to see your next video.
Cheers Jack, I will hopefully put out a video on my channel later this week 👍
Great vid Kurt. It would be great to seeGeorge, Ben and yourself being ale to put together a video for us all when coved 19 allows. Stay safe.
It's difficult for Ben these days with a family to consider however George and myself will continue and there may be the odd guest appearance...
Hi Kurt looks a good machine Thanks again
Very enjoyable video for a person who like digger but no very little about them
Glad you enjoyed it Michael 👍
Be interesting to hear your thoughts on a tilt rotator attachment. Engcon for example 🤙🏻
Yeah Id also like to hear some opinions on those

I can't disagree with that at all 👍
Great video Kurt 👍🏻
Looks a well laid out machine.

I noticed that daf xf was badged up as an erf ec 11
Yes ! 👍
I thought I’d gone mental for a second...

Matty Williams getting some free publicity
My dad use to drive a priestman 108s absolutely loved that digger till he got a Hitachi 110

Hate those wrist supports prefer full adjustable arm rests, she seemed a bit loud in the cab but hard to tell with the window open.
Bloody Go-pro mic is shyte - it's nice enough in the cab, quieter than a lot of the competition and certainly more room.
Cheers Muka.

I'd love to hear peoples thoughts of this compared to the Kubota kxo80, and the kobelco and Hitachi...
very nice digger i have just bourt a 6 ton kubota digger also very good try one
Is there any particular reason why a lot of plant machinery uses a green flashing light instead of the usual orange?.
It's to show you have your safety belt on.
There is still an orange flashing light on the cab.
Hello!I'm Norbert i would buy a JCB 35 Z mini excavator but I can't find any videos about it !? Thanks in advance! You are super
You're welcome 👍
No heated seats? :-)
Probably was - it had everything
Nice digger, lots of electric bits to go wrong, will it still be going in 15/20 years, when I can afford it 😁👍🏻
Saw a clip from jcb about future battery /electric / hydrogen power any opinion on them
It looks all very exciting but we will have to see what develops
I'd get one just on your recommendation
Its really different from a Whitlock. (Cable slew)

Bucket comes in so can clean up against blade easily, dozer control is much smoother, overall just seems more controllable in each direction.
I don’t want to sound like I am being really negative but jcb 360 are very unrealiable and not a patch on the competitors of other manufacturers
Have you tried the new X-Series and the current dash 2 mid-range ? All reports from operators and demonstrations are incredibly good.
Is it me or does that daf say erf?
It does !
