I just got one , a 750 ACE, black. Actually, a very good friend of mine from church, we go way back like 2 years or so. I just got my motorcycle license this past Labor day weekend, took the riders class here in the Ranch Harley- Davidson in College Station, TX. Passed the class. Anyway, back to my friend. His name is Shawn Fox , he so rides. I went over to his house this weekend and we're just looking at bikes on the net. He asks me what I'm looking for, wanting to get, and I tell him , something between 650cc to 900cc, just a good starter bike. He has a Suzuki 750 sports bike that he let me ride a few time around the block, that was fun, very fast small bike for me. I'm 5'4" 160lbs. Btw. So we're looking and I see this black 1998 Honda Shadow Ace750 for $1500. It has 78,000 miles on it , one owner, mostly highway miles. He bought it for $1200. So not knowing anything, we made a video of me riding the Suzuki 750 sportbike , I popped the clutch twice, got that on video, that was funny. So today after work , he invited me back to his house to make another video so I can share it on the media. But when I get there he wanted to use my cell phone and learn how to make a video. So his wife starts recording and he opens the garage door with remote. He now has 3 bikes( Honda Shadow 750 ace, Suzuki 750 sports & Yamaha 1600 road star) . So I'm surprised that he now has a third bike. Then I get this feeling , no it can't be ,I don't deserve this. He bought me the Honda 750 Ace for a Christmas present! How awesome is that! I was sooo surprised, gave him and his wife a big bear hug. I asked him why did he do this to me, he told me that he's tired of riding alone and that he new it would be a while before I can get a bike. Because I had a little money saved up, not enough but I needed to use the money on my dog because she was sick. So I sacrificed my money for the bike for my dog. Which was the dog that he gave me. So I do believe that God blessed me by sacrificing my needs for others, my dog, and He blessed me with this bike and awesome friends. I believe God had me at the right place at the right time. HE knew my heart, so I prayed over him and his family for many more blessings. He added a pillion seat plus he has a sissy bar for it, and some saddle bags that might fit. Also he's going to put some LED lights on it. My other friend, well he's my wife's cousin's husband, is going to help look for a front fender for it, because it needs one. I know I don't deserve this bike, but God is good all the time , and all the time God is good. That's my story. Feel free to share. God bless you guys and SRK cycles.✌

I bought a 2003 Shadow ACE 750 with 7500 miles on it in April 2022. The first cruiser bike for me. At first the bike felt funny to me because you sit so low and the handlebars are pretty wide. After a couple days it just felt right to me, I have put 2k miles on it by July 2022 and I love it

Great bike to do cross country trips in for sure my longest trip as a beginner rider is 250 miles round trip and I’m preparing for longer in the future !!

I've been riding this bike for 8 years, and have nothing to complain about. The only reason I would sell it is to upgrade to a bigger engine, as actually the only issue I've had is to keep up with guys who ride bigger bikes (1300cc or more) as the Honda lacks in torque, and its max comfortable speed is only around 65-70 mph while bigger bikes can cruise comfy even at 80-85....

Put V&H Cruzers on it and do the air ox mod along with a set of Barnett clutch springs and the aftermarket ignition and you'll be in for a pleasant surprise riding an awesome little cruiser. All around, the Honda Shadow Ace is a great bike! Honda's in general produce amazing metric Cruisers. I had a 2003 750 ACE for about 5 years which I just recently sold and upgraded to a VTX 1800.
Although that case is an all-around great bike it is somewhat under-powered. if you're looking for a cruiser that won't break the bank and has a great availability of parts this is the bike you should consider. Maintenance is very simple and this bike will run forever pretty much problem free. I had about 70,000 miles when I sold it and in all the years I owned this particular bike and never even burn the drop of oil!
One of the main reasons I sold it is because I ride with guys that have big Cruisers 1500s and up and I had a very hard time keeping up.

First things first. I love your videos, you are a very cool dude!
I own this very bike, the guy that sold it to me told me it was a Shadow Spirit and through your Spirt's Video and this video I realized the I have an ACE lol not a Spirit. I'm like you, not into the wind-guard, makes the bike look silly. Anyways, this is my first cruiser and I've been riding it for 2 weeks now. Amazing Bike, not just for beginners by the way. Rode Kawasaki Ninja's and Suzuki Katana's in addition to renting Harley's on and off for 14 years so this bike is def not ONLY for beginners. The handle bars on my ACE are not the stock, the past owner had put on the Ape Bars, different, but I got used to them.

Forgot to mention- put a lower tooth count sprocket (38?) On ot and you'll stop searching for 6th gear. Not an issue if you put on the Barnett clutch springs. You'll also want to check out a Memphis Shades Barwing fairing and maybe the Kuryakyn handlebar helmet locks which double as bar end weights to get rid of the buzz in the bars. I also had upgraded to a Mustang seat and cruised thousands of comfortable miles.

I have to disagree. I think that the Aero is the most American. It just seems that it was fashioned after the Indian motorcycle. How American is that? I ride a Honda Shadow, Aero VT 750 (2004). Yes, the handlebars are wide. I find them, not only comfortable, but they give a lot of authority of counter steer. I like that. Easy to ride and has plenty of control. I have to say that my only complaint is the footpegs are too far forward. I can not stand up on the pegs If I do, my legs are against the handlebars. And that sucks.
