Thank you. Finally someone covering the base Pixel 8. Not everyone wants a large phone or can afford to pay $300 extra for the 8 pro. But I will say it looks like Google did an awesome job this year with fixing a lot of their issues. For me, 6.1" to 6.2" is the perfect screen size for a smartphone. Much like the base iPhone 15 is the best value iPhone, the regular Pixel 8 is the best value android right now.

@@6asileus I agree I prefer more compact phones 6 inches is just about right. I hate this trend of having tablets instead of phone sizes that are manageable. Who realistically is gonna wanna hold a tablet in their hand for a long period of time? I mean I can see the practical side for those with vision issues, but overall I don’t want to carry a brick around with me.

@@6asileus it seems like we're in the minority unfortunately.. Asus announced few days ago that they're stopping support for the brilliant zenfone 10. A phone that only got released this year! Smaller phones are more expensive to make and larger phones are (for some odd reason) associated with luxury which holds higher demand. Preposterous if you ask me.. But unfortunately those are the facts.

Using the 6A and loving it but now with all these features and the additional 7 years of Android updates+security updates+pixel feature drops make a compelling case to upgrade to the regular Pixel 8. It's the same size as the 6A, the sweet spot 😊 Not too big, not too small, just the right size with a better screen to body ratio.

The frontal design looks so good compared to the 6 and 7. It's right up there in terms of frontal design with the Pixel 5 which in my opinion is one of the best looking phones out there, and it's the one I'm currently using. Taking that into consideration and the fact that it's actually smaller than the 7 made it a no brainer for me!

Like all the Pixels they are a compromise compared to that same gen's flagships. Less battery life, slower performance, optical fingerprint sensor, thermals, much slower UFS 3.1, less capable cameras. And for $999.00 is the U.S. the 8 Pro is overpriced for those compromises. Because for only $200.00 more you'll get much better in all those features. Don't get me wrong, I like the Pixels. But their lesser for less money approach is getting old. Lower the price on the Pro to $799.00 and I'll skip the "free $349.00" Pixel watch 2. But I'd probably still not buy it. Because the S23 Ultra's 2 day battery life is something I wouldn't give up. While the Pixel 8 regular is a decent value as a midrange priced phone.
