If you want to get a small taste of what its like to work in this field of work, apply for general laborer. You'll be sweeping floors with compound, pulling out carpet and peeling planks from wooden floors, hauling broken rubble such as drywall, stone, wood, some specific metals, tiles, glass. They will give you work suitable for general laborer, some could be risky like transferring roofing material from the ground to the roof ghetto style, by walking and holding material and climbing latters and stairs. That's if they put you to work by yourself. They always need general laborers, for baby work and intermediate jobs, and if you have the body and the brains, you'll be all around in traits and work ethics in that world of construction. Picking up rocks and getting paid for it for 5 years is also good if you're that type of person, it's possible.
I can learn almost anything, but construction is so difficult for me to grasp. My father never taught me shit, so now im here 30 years old trying to learn.
Fucking same my dad does construction as a living but doesn't teach me shit😴 now im 18 and wanna work but i don't know what the fuck to work in and i wanna do construction but don't even know shit bc he won't teach me😴
El_Sicario_mx YOU’RE 18 LEARN ON YOUR OWN LMAO! Go get a construction job at entry level and copy others and ask for tips. If you really wanted to do construction you’d do it.
So what kind of construction is involved in this? I’m interested in learning construction thru college but idk cause there’s so many parts to construction
Juan Batalla I have no idea there’s so many parts to construction, not sure which ones would be the most valuable when it comes to knowing how to build my own house. I’m not looking to get into it as a career , I just wanna know how to build my own stuff
@@Nobody-xu8oe I have worked my whole life and finally have money to buy my first home cash and start doing flips at least one per year until I have 4 homes paid and can retire. What do you think I should learn. I don't need the knowledge to do it all myself. I need the knowledge to be able to supervise and not get scammed when I get bids to refurbish homes. I want to be a flipper. Not aggressive and greedy just enough to finally stop working and can relax at home with a positive income and prepare incase our economy goes to shit and my social security is worth nothing when I am old enough to retire.
@@UpInSmoke-us5vf I hope that's not the case for me:/..I know you are speaking truth. I'm in hvacr school, and so far it's been a good experience. But do you have any advice for a 26 year old woman going into a HVAC school or any trade for that matter?

Sad excuse. Don’t use your father not teaching you as an excuse 😂some people had to learn of their own because they didn’t have a mom or dad

I like seeing women in construction. You don't see many of em but its just cool to see because equality also goes towards equal job opportunity.
IT'S DISGRACEFUL AND A ABOMINATION!!!
Do you have to know a trade before doing construction?
Nope, that's what apprenticeships are for.
Does this school actually send students to work on a house?? If so i need the name of this college or does anyone know if every school does this?
in Norway, we have production lessons in which we build something. And we have it two days each week
Its very normal to have praktical lessons and theoretical lessons. I think this is part of an internship.
At are job site we have students coming in learning but i dont know from what school they are coming from
