wow I had no idea about all these plant names! It's very shocking to say the least! you did a lot of work to compile all this information and to also send a positive message to everyone 🥰🥰⭐⭐
Hi Eric oh my goodness I love this and so many that I know that they are called that example the brazzilian nuts lol lol lol, I am can understand how the herbs can have racist names because of how it has been used way long ago. Amen and amen thank you so much for the sharing and we can be kind to each other God bless and love yall
Calling "native americans" "indian" isn't as racist as a lot of people think. In fact, most of us either don't give a shit or prefer "indian" to "native american" Source: I am a card carrying, enrolled member of the EBCI, that is Eastern Band of Cherokee Indian. That's what we call ourselves. Go to any reservation town, the word "indian" is literally everywhere. Overall we care less about what words are said and more about how it's said. Though there are some words that probably should be stayed away from, but only because they've never been used in a neutral fashion. Thankfully I've never really heard anyone in the real world utter them. Most people have probably forgotten them. Also we (the various tribes) give each other shit all the time. Heck, most tribe names are actually insults from other tribes. That's how little we actually care.
I know. There is that large camp that doesn't really care these days. My main push is to use given Native American names for plants rather than ones that don't make as much sense or don't uphold the heritage of Native Americans. Also the context of Indian in some of these plants is used, as you said, in a bad way.
@@EccentricNature It's not "Indian" that's bad to us though. Words like "squa" or "squaw" however... I gave somebody a really fat lip for calling me that. It doesn't matter that much if you say it to reference the word. It's not like the n-word where it's not supposed to be said, ever, like it's ok to say it in the context of informing people not to say it. But it's just a really REALLY racist thing to refer to an indian woman with.

Incredible work to get so many names, put them in the screen and making a great video. I agree they should change the names, for a better future 👍
