Well he did a Micheal Schumacher at Monaco 22 to sainz (unintentionally) as sainz was beating even is current best run also 12-10 in 2022. Sainz does best in later grand prix's so him doing better now in an oversteery car centred track is not much it's what he is supposed to do
Leclerc's car positioning in combination with the car's superior ability to ride curbs make for his excellent exit out of the Nouvelle Chicane into Tobac. Side by side comparison shows how he can straighten his car way earlier and keep it closer to the inside curb of the chicane, granting a straighter car and better traction and acceleration out of that turn compared to Piastri.
* Tabac. Yeah, Piastri missed the apex on the chicane, had a bad exit, while Leclerc nailed it and powered out of the exit. Still a pretty awesome Qual session for Oscar in his second Monaco.
The good ol' Ferrari vs Mclaren battle, Happy for Charles!! Mega effort from Oscar, it was fine details that make the difference and Charles did exact that in the last sector, hopefully we have an amazing battle from both teams.
just look @ 2:15 and pause. Charles took the last turn into the final straight sticking more towards the barriers as compared to piastri. yes he gained alot in sector 2 but his precision driving extend that time to 2 tenths. Its crazy how he risk alot and why he deserve the pole and I want him to win in Monaco so badly too.
Leclerc painting a work of art, a very beautiful lap to watch, I would also like to declare my indignation with Perez, who did an absurdly shameful lap.
Piastri seems to be braver in the entry if tge corner, braking later, but Leclerc is more methodical, thinking about the rundown into the straights more. Hopefully the Red Bull will be faster in the coming races because it will be interesting to compare car and racing styjes between the three main contenders for the championship.
And note that p1 is on the inside and because the cars are so big, by just having a average start, you can easily cover the outside line. He needs to mes up rly badly which would be strange coming from him!
piastri mostly had higher minimum speed through the corners. does it mean mclaren has better downforce than ferrari or is it just the driving style of piastri?
You can't compare things like this with the graphical telemetry. It's got way too much variability with latency when you're comparing just a few km/h. Use f1tempo for actual vehicle telemetry.. This will also show you that the vast majority of time piastri had the speed. picking up nearly half a second through casino, but ultimately losing the time slowly throughout the remainder of the lap. the nail in the coffin was the mistake at the chicane after swimming pool.
two of the most talented drivers in this generation just a shame that so many clowns call leclerc overrated

Yeah Oscar will rue that chicane, he lost 0.22 to his own benchmark from the previous lap just there.

1.1 seconds quicker than verstappen last year. Only 1 tenth off the track record

LEC driving style through Monaco reminds me of a very good friend. The entry is kind of ‘residue’. Thus, better exit preparation is key. Good analysis
the amount of talent at the front is really brilliant
anyone could perform wonders on a good day
Both drivers were on the fire... Great drive... Tomorrow we will see long waited McLaren vs. Ferrari fight for win
Both!
Great video - most illuminating!
0:59 I wonder if leclerc’s correction in the hairpin was to open up the car to get it to turn more through the slow corner?
it's probably likely that drivers are sensitive to the feel of their car, the slightest of unsettlement will make them instinctually correct their car
nop, he just almost lost it

Thats far from losing it, you would know if you ever driven on sim

The rare Leclerc front row shutout.
Rare?
They just keep hyping Antonelli when Piastri is actually the real deal
I think it's interesting that Leclerc and Leclerc Jr got 1st row in Monaco
2:31
Piastri - 269 km = 10865 RPM
Leclerc - 271 km = 10833 RPM
Good video, good job
would Piastri possibly jump Leclerc at the start or do a divebomb into t1?
If he divebombs he will compromise both of their races
It's possible, but Leclerc really needs to mess it up big time.
Piastry ín outside bro

Sainz has a higher chance of divebombing since he’s on the inside line
Would be helpful to see the timing on the screen as we progress through the lap. Great video tho
love to see that ty
How hard is it to say Piastri?
Masterclass drive today 🎉
Where do I get this footage (telemetry)?
McLaren has been very impressive in the last couple years. They’ve consistently been the aggressing force in the top 3
This qualifying wasn't as good as last year but I'm pleased to see Leclerc take pole
piastri mostly had higher minimum speed through the corners. does it mean mclaren has better downforce than ferrari or is it just the driving style of piastri?

i love piyahstree
the long awaited battle royal of ferrari amd mclaren has finally arrived
buckle up and enjoy the ride like good old days
actually Lec is very conservative on the distance to the wall and kerb.
very well spotted! Piastri lap look more impressive, Ferrari is a faster car. in Turns 15-16 Leclerc was slower than himself in Q2 by massive 0.15s
@@Stantube1000Looks more impressive != faster.

ok. why didn't he get P3 this year? this is unfortunate.

Can you compare the 2019 Hamilton‘s lap to Leclerc's lap this year?
good montage, i show in my vídeo. hugs
McLaren is probably faster than Ferrari lol. Piastri could have been the first. Leclerc, in my opinion, did everything he could.
like father like son im proud
Looking at the amount of steering lock leclerc is having to give compared to oscar, it seems the McLaren has a great front end
That's because of steering ratios. If you look at the front wheels they are at a very similar angle. Just a difference in setup.
Is Ferrari acceleration faster than McLaren?
Piastir clearly lost time in corners after the tunnel
That was the difference
Baku would be interesting
Leclerc clearly reached 288 at the exit of tunnel.
enigne power
"Comment your opinion"???? How about "comment below" or "Give your opinion below".
even if you compare the first run from leclerc he is still faster
However, I'm not sure that Ferrari is the fastest on this track, Piastri always had a higher speed, this pole is 100% pilot
bro wtf i get like 1min 17 in the videogame dammit codemasters program me faster 😂
Nah you just slow lol
