Ironically enough, I got Defense Grid way back when because of your recommendation! You had mentioned that it was a true tower defense game, and it really was. So excited to give this one a try, once again by your recommendation haha. Thanks for the video!
Thanks again for all the kind words and terrific run through! Don't worry, Meteor player aid is coming right up! :)
Looks rad! I love rolling dice and I feel like having 2, 3 or 4 people rolling a set of dice each, along with options to use the odd die out for something useful would mitigate the shortcomings of using dice. Getting in and out of desperate feeling situations trying to logic through the best version of the "hand" the dice deal you sounds like it would keep things intense!
im trying to design a tower defence game, I say trying because I lost everything when my drive corrupted! but Im slowly clawing it back. and Im hoping to give it everything you described as what a tower defence game should be, so I look forward to you playing it one day!
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to design and market a dice version of "Castle Panic." Thankfully, the add'l actions available per turn make this better than just a disappointing knockoff.
Looks cool, seems like missile command the board game. I'm sold, when does it go into production?
it's going to launch its crowdfunding campaign in the next week or two iirc :)
Does the rule for making a 7 have to be made with only 2 dice? If not, you could have added your 3+3+1=7.
yup, i was an idiot. paulo pointed this out in the klingon subtitles! :)
@rahdo So any amount of dice that adds up to 7 works. That makes these "I can't do anything useful" scenarios reduce to the point that it probably won't ever happen. The game already seems much better, I like it.
looks awesome and one i get for sure.
I had to check on BGG if the designer was the same as for 'Under falling skies' because it kinda reminded me of that game which i like very much.
Another game it reminds me of is 'Wreckland run' , i think actually it is kind of similar with placing dice on weapons, another good i love to play solo.
Would be cool to have like a one time +-1 for dice mechanic, like tokens that can manipulate dice with, many ways to implement those, one time use or even getting them by spending cards or dice.
there is a tower that adds direct dice mod :)
@@rahdo oh nice!!!
Thank you for the preview, will keep an eye on this game.
The game looks very sharp, a little more dice mitigation would be nice. It would get a lot more play with my group with a little more mitigation.
being able to create wilds by making 7s is pretty strong mitigation. it gets you out of any bad rolls (including the one that happened to me in the runthrough, which i was an idiot and didn't see how i could easily create a 7)
Absolutely. My only point is that I know that there are individuals in my gaming group who will find that mitigation to be insufficient for their liking. This is not meant to be a knock on the game or the fundamental design. It's just that the idea of having to sacrifice multiple actions in order to mitigate one or two bad die rolls will not sit well with some. In the same way that you can introduce "care bear" variants, perhaps a variant or module that caters to those who are more "randomness-phobic." Just an observation. 🙂
well, a simple house rule would be that everyone gets to start with a prebuilt tower (like a +/- one, for instance)... draw two, pick one, roll a die to put it in a random slot, and then increase the difficulty level to counteract the bonus :)
You had two 3s and a 1. That adds up to 7, right?
yup, i was an idiot. paulo pointed this out in the klingon subtitles! :)
Yep. I need to remember to turn on the Klingon captions. 😊
btw odds with the all odd die role 1:16. Not terrible but not great. Pretty unlucky though.
cn someone make some game from mechanics from Legends of Runeterra? Actually they alr making tcg nwm..c:
"Did we just lose the game?!" This is why I avoid these type games. One bad die role at any point and "Game Over". No thx
if you had the klingon subs turned on, you'd see i didnt lose the game at that moment because i was a dolt and forgot you can combine 3 or more dice, so i could have kept playing (and won) at that critical moment :)
