    He's 12 and a good kid. I've hosted a few of his clinics at West LA Music in Los Angeles. For those who knock him because he isnt original or musical, remember... its a twelve year old. A 12 year old that can play circles around you bitter asses all day long.

    I have seen a video of gilbert when he was just 14 years old and it was before the shred mayhem that soon followed. That's why Gilbert stood out so much to me. Giving the same age of them both and comparing talent, they sound the same to me to be honest. Technically, Gilbert is as good as it gets these days. This kid has those same qualities. It is highly impressive with this kids ability. I wish him the best. He should not go unnoticed in the future...if he doesn't get bored that is.

    It is totally fitting that a guitar protogy be influenced by Paul Gilbert.
    That he plays "Get Out of My Yard" & "Let the Computer Decide" (on another video)on a 6 string in standard tuning makes it even more amazing!

    Well put, sir. I didn't mean to knock the very talented and hard working young musician. I certainly was not playing this well when I was twelve. CA, however, started on the fiddle very young then began playing guitar at nine. As a kid he would fall asleep playing his guitar sitting upright in a chair. A habit he kept his whole life.

    Great Playing, Keep it up :-) , Very melodic riffs and you connected the dots very well. If anyone out here has any ideas on transitioning from using a thumb-pick for Chet Atkins to shred to keep the initial attack sharp please post some.

    Chet was awesome. This kid is 12 (now 16). I don't think that Chet could play this well when he was 12. In an ideal situation, this kid will be emulating no one once the smoke has cleared. If he has more to offer than copycat shredding -- more than some kind of odd, karmic pre-programming, if you will -- and develops his own emotive style, he will be truly impressive. The tin man will have received his heart.

  • @Jonsk12394
    @Jonsk12394 14 лет назад

    @felphero - He can. but as you probably noticed, it doesn't sound as clean if you play it like Anton. Paul Gilbert decided to "Modify" his second neck so he could make it sound cleaner. Paul Gilbert shows all this in a video, and explain why he rather want to play it like he does.

    ngl the first time I saw a video of Anton playing GOOMY arpeggio I thought "this gotta be fake, Gilbert's solo dubbed into the video and he just mimed it" and then he made a video of how he played it lol
    He breaks down the biomechanic of picking with science but of course he keeps the detailed explanation in his online guitar course.

    And wht do you mean by random notes? I've seen ANY random naotes, it's everything within some scale (most of it in the key of A minor, using pentatonics, harmonic minors and more), arpegio, not to mention the classical fragment, with a very interesting harmonic development behind a flawless technick, And the Chet, of course. So dude,please, speak not of what you doesn't understand. Anton, you're a blessed person, and may you almays be. My best wishes to see you at the top of the top some day!!

    Fuck all of the detractors. What this kid has is what so many 'artists' lack: a technical command of the instrument. With this facility, nearly limitless possibilities exist for effective expression of musical ideas. This is the foundation for greatness, not greatness in and of itself, and it is a rare gift. If the music is truly within him, his life experiences coupled with the mastery he already displays as a 12-year-old will allow him to become an incredible musical storyteller.

    @boxtrap21 As long as he doesn't get stuck in metal mode and develops his musicality he'll make a real name for himself. The world is saturated with classically-styled metal guitarists and many of the so-called fusionists that become popular seem to make a name with technique over musicality. A few years in a college music curriculum may fill in all the blanks. I'd like to see is him apply his talents to better forms of music rather than guitar trickery. That just puts me to sleep.
