In a closed system (our planet is for the most part closed), you cannot have infinite growth expecting more revenue, and continuous improvement forever. Eventually you expand to as far as you can go or your growth isn't fast enough for corporate so they bring in someone who will maximize short term growth and torpedo the company. By then they will have golden parachuted their ways out of there to acquire new companies to completely destroy. Rinse and Repeat.
It is crazy that corporations buy successful channels or businesses, then change them to try to make more money, eventually ruining them. It makes no sense to buy something successful, then immediately change what made them successful in the first place.
@@hstafford078 Ususally the goal of such acqusitions is to get more money out of it than paid for it, not to have a sustainable profitable business, so they milk these businesses for as much and as long as they can, often cutting costs in the process, and then dump them, hopefully making more money than they paid. It's done by the firms which specialize in such aquisitions and manage multiple businesses at once.

As someone who fell in love with early Donut, I truly wish everyone the best. Some will carry on their legacy with their audience and all will continue to build a new audience base. Donut is dead to those who got into it 5 years ago. There’s always a new audience who doesn’t know our favorite personalities and they may like the new Donut. It isn’t a binary win/lose. They can all do their own thing and make content people enjoy. The fandom bickering is toxic and unnecessary

Doughnut media used to be great but they started losing their way, doing stuff that wasn't really relevant to the average viewer a while ago, the $500 civic they threw thousands of dollars at and the recent truck build (while a cool concept) didn't really do it for me or any of my friends. Big Time seems to be a lot more relevant to the average petrolhead and I'm cautiously optimistic about Speeed.
By the way, all the background employees at Donut Media that wrote, filmed, edited, organized and brought videos to us, deserve better. I hope the ownership realizes all of the hemorrhages they have caused and get their act together for their remaining talents.
