If you’re an outdoorsman from Washington and you don’t wear Filson, what are you doing!?(Assuming you can afford it)
How come you don't have these named in the title? Like theres the Mackinaw and the Yukon Wool Anarak, it would be great if you put which one they are in the title so we can distinguish which is what. Thanks for the review tho.
They are the mackinaw anoraks, they didn’t have the Yukon ones at the time I purchased these.
@@wildforwool3821 oh ok gotchya, perhaps throw in the keyword machinaw into your title ;)
I will for sure!
Were you using the sharp edge of the knife on your firesteel? Try the top edge of the knife next time. Should work better for you and not dull your knife.
He tried both sides
I just bought one. Filson owes you for this review!
Nice product, Nice review;)
looks great ..and great video ...man I wish more people were into Filson here in the east ...outdoors people here are more into Carhartt (lower quality) ..but the guys in the know have Filson ....thanks for the good stuff
I completely agree with you. Most people in my area are more into Carhartt as well, you don't see much Filson here either if any lol. Thanks man!
Can you let us know your height and weight in the description for sizing?
I am 5'9 and 150lbs. I added all of my measurements to the description for you and will continue to do so!
@@wildforwool3821 thanks mate. I am about the same so it helps.
Its quality is high, but I returned mine due to the hood and how it just didn't sit right.
Yeah it sure is.That’s unfortunate. Maybe the new style knitted one they are coming out with would suit your needs better
do you wnat to kom to my house?
I missed out on the green one but made sure to get the navy. Love it.
extremely helpful vid
I like that navy colour, its different from what you usually see. I have an empire wool anorak (no hood) and its the same type of fit to get a thick wool sweater under there when it gets really cold
I agree I absolutely love the navy as well and the extra room is definitely needed in a colder climate, hoping Filson brings the anoraks back to stay.
Hey mate, thanks for all your great Filson reviews.
Quick question on washing these anoraks, do you dry clean em? Or just chuck em in the washing machine on cold and dry flat on a rack? I don’t really wash my wool stuff unless really needed but not sure with my Filson stuff….my bottom lip would quiver uncontrollably if I wreaked it.
Thanks heaps.
Great stuff! Thank you.
(For me, I would be removing that visible Filson label with a seam ripper, pronto . . . )
Man you beeped it out?! WTF bro?
I think you mean “cowichan”
Drippin’ 💧
its beautiful
love mine
I’m so confused on sizing after watching this video. You said your 150lbs and 5”9 and ordered a Medium and that size looks good on you. I’m 180lbs and 5”10 and I wear a small in the Mackinaw and I’ve got room in it and it fits great. I just ordered the Klondike wool Anorak and I was told by Filson to order a small in the Anorak since that’s what I have in the Mackinaw and it will fit a little looser. After watching your video I’m worried I should have ordered a Medium and now they are all sold out. I guess I have to wait and see when it arrives. Fingers crossed!!
I like to have a bit of room in my outer layer so I have lots of room for layering if I need it. If you like the way the small mackinaw coat fits than you will probably like how the small anorak fits. Just personal preference on how fitted or loose you like your outer garments. Hope it works out!
How was the size for you
So where I live we have freezing harsh wind , and most wool garments I research are not wind proof .know of any wind proof wool sweaters/jackets
I find layering is key in cold weather so a nice wool sweater or two with a windbreak that could be a tight weave cotton canvas or a synthetic material but I personally don’t like synthetics especially around fires or in survival situations. But there are cotton canvas anoraks out there that go over wool anoraks well. Or get a sheepskin and you most likely won’t even need to layer depending on how extreme the cold is. Check out my sheepskin video
You could check out dale of Norway sweaters as well. They have a wind blocking layer. I will do a review on mine soon.

I've been trying to get one of these for years and I always miss out on them
They have a red and black one available online right now
@@wildforwool3821 in size medium only
I just got this one yesterday. A size large from Toronto store. Very friendly staff. Love it.
They sure are friendly there! I’m glad to hear you got one!
@@wildforwool3821 they just got in yesterday. You got it from there too ?
I got mine off the website when it first came available. The other stores usually take a while to get stock due to shipping or availability I believe. So if an item is not available online anymore you can sometimes get it from another location when they get theres delivered. I’ve bought many other items from the Toronto store and love the customer service there. Some items are only available online or at certain locations tho
@@wildforwool3821 I never bought it online? I think they shipped from US right ? Do you need to pay import tax on top of it ?
I thought you said you got it from the Toronto store? That’s in Canada. If your in Canada there won’t be an import fee filson already payed it to get it to the Toronto store. If your in USA and buying from Toronto then there should be an import fee. They will ship right from the Toronto store if your ordering it from Toronto
I have a brand new, with tags, in box, Filson Yukon Wool Anorak in size L, in Charcoal. Drop me a note if you are interested. These are sold out, and will continue to be.
Do you still have it? What weight of wool is it?
