This is incredible. This was the last time Carroll and Jean would be together. Carroll passed away the following year. I adored him. I thought he was the greatest actor in the world. If anyone has never watched All In the Family, it was probably the funniest, best written, well acted sitcoms of all time! Thumbs up to them and to Donny & Marie for making this very special reunion possible.

One of the finest and most deeply moving moments ever on TV was the scene where Archie came back home after Edith's funeral, found one of her slippers on the floor in their bedroom, and broke down crying as he cradled it in his hands and remembered her and how much he loved her. Donny & Marie have such a way of making people feel relaxed and comfortable like as if they we're visiting with friend's in their own 🏡 & not on a stage with 📸 on them and people out in the audience that they almost forget all their surrounding's that's what I love about Donny & Marie Osmond they're great at their craft but their personalities and they way they are come's from 🏡 and they way they was raised ❤️😍🤩💕💞💖

Donnie & Marie's show was actually pretty remarkable. I admit I had a lot of stereotypes about them and had no idea how their show could be any good at all -- and it turned out to be thoughtful, intelligent, and insightful. (Who'd have guessed they could have Little Richard as a guest and pull it off effortlessly and with full respect on all sides.)

As a child of the 70’s I had grandparents who were exactly like Archie and Edith, the good and the bad. All in the family helped a generation of kids understand that generation and how it shaped our own parents. It helped us move past that model of marriage, sexism, racism and bigotry.

This is the 99th comment, which is the age of Norman Lear (he 'll be 100 next week) who created this great show (All in the Family). I think he and Carroll & Jean, and the 2 kids, Sally & Rob made one of the biggest impacts on the way we see and live today. It's one of my favorite shows of all time and my favorite episode was the one with Sammy Davis Jr. Thanks to all of You very, very much!

I saw Stapleton refuse to do the Edith voice in another interview. She gave the same excuse. I think the real reason is she didn’t want people to think that she was a “ding bat” in real life. She probably got asked to do that voice every time she met someone for the first time. She wanted to be respected for the real woman she was. I don’t think she realizes how much we all loved and respected “Edith” and most of us would have loved to have a mother, grandmother, sister or aunt like Edith Bunker
