Now after installing the cts-v cluster, I am further following your steering wheel removal video. Since cts-v has paddle shifter button behind, wondering you have plans to modify to bigger paddles? I am thinking to remove the paddle button and diy with bigger ones. Thx.

I’ve only found one decent manufacturer of paddle shifters for. I think you are going down the right path of fabricating your own. I’ve been considering it but no real movement yet.

Looks just like the steering wheel on my 2008. Hopefully the R&R is the same procedure.

Did the wheel you use have the paddle buttons in the rear? And if so, did they work, did they not work, and did it set any dtc's? Thanx for the video!

My old steering wheel did not have paddles but the new (used) one did have paddles. They did work immediately and not DTC’s at all.

Hi! Great video! When putting the steering wheel back on with the Loctite, do I need to torque the T50 bolt to a certain spec or did you just tighten the T50 until it would not tighten any further?
    Thank you !

Thank you. No need to torque. Like you said, just a little loctite and tighten it until it’s tight.

is there a way to remove the OEM steering wheel trim? and if there is, would i have to remove the steering wheel as shown🤔

    • @marenothecarguy8361

If you are only looking to change the trim on the steering wheel, they make pre-molded pre-cut vinyl overlays you can just stick on in different colors.

Damn Im glad I found this. I need to change my clock spring for my horn they said. How do I get that off

When you remove the steering wheel it is directly behind it. It slides out. Be very careful, if your clock Spring unwinds it can sometimes be impossible to put it back together.

Why did they say you need to change your clock Spring for your horn?

Just found ur vid. Just got a 2012 cts coupe premium. The steering wheel moves up/down but won't move forward or back. Do I need a new switch? Is it an easy fix? Expensive? Ty for any help!

It’s hard to say, but when I had a similar issue, I pulled the steering wheel towards me with lots of force while pulled the directional button towards me. The motor kicked in and it started working. It was as though it seized up from not being normally used. This may not be your issue, but it worked for me.
