I'm a young metal head that is obsessed with the eagles and older music, it makes me hopeful for the future when I see younger people finally realizing what great music is. Unlike most of what is made these days.

I love when you can discover these songs, too! I grew up with this. Listen to the music, the instrumentation, but also the lyrics. This was a creepy story... :) And yes, the lead singer on this one was the drummer, Don Henley.
If you want to see another lead singer of a band who plays the heck out of drums, check out Phil Collins version of "In the Air Tonight" live.

Don Henley lead vocals/ drums. Glen Frey acoustic guitar/vocals , Randy Meisner bass/vocals , Joe Walsh lead guitar/vocals & Don Felder double neck guitar lead guitar /vocals Each member in this band was a lead vocalist but the Don Henley & Glen Frey did most of it. Very deep rabbit hole of very good music

Thanks, Scotty because I was thinking "PLEASE do not interrupt that solo ending" as it breaks up all the rhythm, momentum, flow, and continuity which is building to a climax but I WAS worried that you were going to do that and I am grateful that you did not. though you did close your eyes all thru' the end guitarist( Joe Walsh) making some really funny facial gestures. lol

"I've Seen Lead Singers That Play Guitar And I've Seen Lead Singers That Play Piano, But,I've Never Seen A Lead Singer That Plays Drums"
They're pretty uncommon, but to be fair, Don Henley, the drummer in this video, isn't the only member that sings Lead, in fact, all of the members of the eagles take turns singing Lead
Plus, there's quite a few other bands that have a drummer that sings lead on some songs and here's a few examples:
There Romantics on the song "What I Like About You"
Peter Criss from Kiss sang Lead on a few songs, such as "Black Diamond", "Hard Luck Woman" and "I Finally Found My Way"
Phil Collins became the leader singer in addition to being the drummer of Genesis after their original Lead Singer, Peter Gabriel had left to pursue a solo career

I was in high school during this time. Eagles were great! But this song is about the largest satanic church in this country and maybe in the world at the time. Many of the actors, bands and singers went there. Anton Level was the high priest, the woman at the door was the high witch. You could not enter unless she aloud it. The candle at the front door was always lit. In the song "you can enter, but you can never leave "

Don Henley, drummer for the Eagles, sang lead on many of their hits. Karen Carpenter of The Carpenters was, surprisingly, their drummer. The Monkees' Mickey Dolenz was both their drummer and one of their lead singers. Levon Helm, of The Band, sang as well as played drums. Elton John was in fact a drum player, but he was not very skilled.

Thanks, it’s another old guy here that loves to see the great appreciation that young people show for years ago rock and roll, yes, with a tinge of country mixed in.
I noticed your eyes closed to absorb the music but be sure to go back and just watch the different facial expressions all through the song!
And, remember the opening with the title out of focus (like a distance away), then it gets clearer then real clear. And he sees the Hotel California…realizes it is an old Mission (like the Alamo), hears the Mission Bell….but thinks…”this could be Heaven or this could be Hell!’ And “you can check out anytime, but you can never leave.” Yes, Heaven or Hell??

Eagles are an amazing group who's been around for 52 years and still going strong. The drummer, Don Henley. He and the late Glenn Frey (the guy who's playing the acoustic guitar) wrote majority of the Eagles hits. The guy who's playing the Double Neck, Don Felder co-wrote the song with Don Henley and Glenn Frey. Also everybody in the band sing lead on songs even though Don H and Glenn sung majority of their hits.
I love seeing Don Henley playing the drums and singing at the same time. There aren't that many singing drummers especially who is the lead singer or co-leader of a band. I can count my hand. Phil Collins (Genesis), the late Levon Helm (the Band), Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters) etc. They were the lead singer of their bands and played drums.
You should hear their other songs like Take it To the Limit, Take It Easy, New kid in Town. There are so many great songs you should hear.

There's probably a good reason you don't see many lead singer/drummer combinations. You have to be very coordinated. I'm not a drummer, but I know you're not just using your hands, but you're also using both feet to play the bass drum and the high hat cymbals. That's hard enough, but then you add singing to all that. That can't be easy. So, my hat goes off to Don Henley (The Eagles), Kelly Keagy (Night Ranger). Peter Criss (Ex- Kiss), the late Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters- the only female singer/drummer I'm aware of) and any other singers/drummers I missed.

If you want some mind blowing music, you must check out Pink Floyd’s song Comfortably Numb. Also listen to Led Zeppelin’s song Kashmir. One think to help you fully enjoy Pink Floyd or Zeppelin, you don’t ‘listen’ to their music. You experience their music. It’s a sit back close your eyes and let the music take you kind of music. I think that’s the best way I can explain it. There are no other bands who’s music I feel that way about, and I’m not alone in that.

I do have one suggestion besides music. You should really use headphones or earbud or something when listening to music prior to 1990. Most of it was meant to be played in stereo and you get the best experience with headphones. One in particular I just watch you do was Queens Bohemian Rhapsody, totally different experience through headphones.
